What makes a great website?
A great website is clear, visually strong and easy to read and navigate. The brand and logo should be prominent so the company is recognisable. The website should be built so the client can edit the text and images themselves, this not only gives you the ease to update your website whenever you need to, but also changing content will help with SEO. Nowadays most sites are viewed on a mobile, so it is imperative that site is mobile responsive.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
When working with a new client I would like to get to know as much as possible about the company and the particular project so the design solution is appropriate and therefore effective.
Describe your creative process.
I like to talk to the client, either in person or on the phone to gather as much information about the project as possible. I will research provide relevant and appropriate design solutions as pdf proofs. I believe the design process should be collaborative so there would be options to choose from and discuss at this point. After I have the clients feedback I would provide the final design for approval.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
I would need as much information a client can give me about the project. I will then provide a quote that would need to be agreed before commencing work.
What do you love most about your job?
I love creating effective solutions for businesses, from large scale rebranding projects to leaflet design.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I enjoy the freedom of running my own business, I can choose the work I want to do and clients I want to work with.
