Talk it Thru Counselling Service (Jo Russell) offers both individual and couples counselling. I am an integrative counsellor which means that I believe that we are all different and that one approach cannot work for each individual or couple in all situations. I always take a non judgmental and empathic approach and will draw on elements of many therapeutic theories and practices to best help and support you. As with person-centred and other humanistic approaches, the integrative approach emphasises the quality of the relationship between myself as a counsellor and you, the client, and encourages exploration of your situation within the safe and supportive space provided by that relationship. There are many reasons people seek counselling such as:

Grief or emptiness following a bereavement, the end of a relationship or other loss
Feelings of depression or sadness
Difficulty coping with stresses in your life
Anger management
Generalised anxiety disorder
Anxiety, panic attacks or phobias
Issues with low confidence or low self esteem
Eating disorders
Relationship issues,
Repeatedly becoming involved in unsatisfying or destructive relationships
Addictive or self-destructive behaviour
Experience of trauma, violence or abuse whether currently or in the past
Needing support whilst caring for someone with an illness, addiction or disability
Recently experienced divorce, redundancy or health issues
Workplace relationships and work related stress (I offer a special rate for NHS staff)
