Wonderful people, great concern for teaching valuable life lessons a young man or woman needs in this crazy world. I have used Symbolic Art camps for after school care, school holiday breaks and summer camp every year for the last many years and will continue to do so. My, now 9 year old, loves it, too!

These guys are AMAZING !! I cannot say enough good things about them! We have paid even private schools and have never seen so much positive interaction from teachers. All of them always had a smile on their face, were so friendly and approachable and genuine lovely people! Every week there was a different theme making it more interesting and motivating for the kids. My daughter made lots of friends and was beaming everyday Id pick her up. Id watch Miss Nay Nay (in awe) memorize hundreds of kids names even from the first day! The kids even performed to pop songs in their age groups (my daughter even faced her fear of performing). Highly recommended. And a BIG THANK YOU !! More...

Symbolic Art Center is the most amazing youth program/camp my children have experienced in Las Vegas. They have attended summer camps in Henderson and Las Vegas and literally begged me to sign them up at Symbolic Art Center once they attended their summer camp a few years ago. I think the difference is the staff engages with the youth, they play games with them, they talk to them and always have lots of love and respect for the children. Even my little girl who is usually shy has come out of her shell while attending the camp. I sincerely appreciate the safe and nurturing environment they foster for youth and highly recommend them. Love you guys so much! Keep up the amazing work!! More...

I have to say that I do not usually leave reviews, but after reading the negative reviews left here, I felt that I needed to. I have three children who have attended a multitude of summer camps, after/before-school programs and hands-down this is the only place where they loved to attend and be part of. In my opinion, everyone who works here genuinely cares about the kids. I don't think this is just a business for them, they are in the business of taking care of OUR children. Take the time to research and see what they do for the community - outside of providing childcare. Do they hold children accountable for their actions? Do they have ZERO tolerance for certain behavior? Absolutely!!! As much as my child is loved here, they bring things to my attention when his behavior is not up-to-par and I am grateful for that. The kids have fun, they are loved, and are kept safe. The staff is understanding, kind, and wonderful. More...

i’ve been attending symbolic art summer camp for 2 summers now and i really have had no problems with the system. obviously there will be consequences for your actions but it’s handeled very professionally by the owners of the camp. if your child is acting rather immaturely at camp, they will be disciplined, which is what every parent should expect, though i know that all parents aren’t the same. symbolic art summer camp is really fun and definitely worth your money. all of the counselors are so nice, and the camp is really homey. our field trips are really lit every year, we go to the movies, knotts berry farm, flippin out extreme, john’s incredible pizza, and sometimes it’s different every summer. also they educate your kids with having 30 minutes of reading each and every day for all groups, even field trip days. we have a scheduled lunch, morning snack and afternoon snack. we also have four square, we play group games with eachother, we go to the gym everyday and have free play, there is a wii console that is limited so yous kids aren’t on it every hour of summer camp. ping pong tables, board games, weekly themes and so much more. symbolic also does not tolerate bullying, inappropriate language, misbehavior, or anything or that sort. symbolic art is now put together then you may think, and i and my friends i’ve made there think so too:) More...

I have attended symbolic art center for three years now and it has been a blast! I enjoy every moment of it and I believe the kids are treated pretty equally. I think it’s good that the councilors stay on the kids about stuff that they do so that the kids stay out of trouble. Symbolic art center feels like a family and everyone there is very professional. I would highly recommend that you take your kid there because they would have a very great time. Every child gets to go to on very fun field trips that consists of Johns incredible pizza, flipin out extreme, knots berry farm, and more. To keep you kids educated during the summer we read which is good because everyone would read every once in a while. They also make sure the kids have things to eat and time to eat. There is morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack. Some times different age groups will do fun group games and that encourages us to work as a team. Symbolic art does not tolerate bullying, bad behavior, disrespect, or inappropriate behavior and language. If you do something bad there may be consequences and honestly I think every kid needs some discipline. I’m not sure every parent will except disciple but some kids actually might need it. Kids also need to take responsibility for their own behavior and actions because their actions can cause other kids to get in trouble. Symbolic art is a very good place to keep your kids and everyone there will have a fun time! If you had a bad experience before give it another shot and it’ll be ten times better than before. As a working mom, some times you feel a little bad your kids don't get that summer "off" with relaxation and true "free time," but having my kids here made it feel like my kids relaxed AND had fun all day. They have the right mix of free play, inside relaxing (reading/movies), and scheduled crafts/actvities or organized games. They know how to keep kids happy. Thank you to the staff of Symbolic Art. We have been sending our daughter (almost 7) to camp for the past few weeks and she loves it (especially her counselors)! They play a lot of games, create art, and do a field trip each week . Having never sent my daughter to camp before I feel that this has been a really good experience for her (and the cost is reasonable). The fact that she is smiling when I pick her up tells me she had a good day. In terms of "bullying" (previous comments), it's impossible to account for every child's actions, at all times, especially when you are dealing with "groups of children." It only takes 1 kid and 1 comment. I have approached the director(s) before with questions and they were very pleasant/helpful. Additionally, I feel that if "bullying" were a concern (and brought to their attention) that it would be taken care of immediately! Bullying is just not tolerated today. On any level. I too heard about the after school program from other parents and they were happy. I plan to look into this during the school year as "Safe Key" is NOT an option! More...

My daughter has been attending Symbolic Art Center since they opened in 2009! We have been supports of this organization because they actually give back to the kids in ways that other day camps, summer camps, winters camps and after school programs do not. At symbolic Art my daughter is not just another number or a dollar sign. She is an individual who gets the opportunity to try new things and meet new people. I am sure that the negative reviews on this site are from parents that have problems everywhere they go! And their kids probably have problems just the same! Symbolic Art finds all kinds of ways to interact and teach the kids. They sing, dance, paint, create, participate in clubs, group activities, and take field trips, have barbeques, water play, tennis, basketball, science and the list can go on and on-it's not just basketball! What some parents don't get is that no matter what the sport or activity-no matter how well your kid can or cannot play the game they learn TEAM WORK! When our children grow up team work is required in the real world no matter what your kid decides to be! My daughter has NEVER been bullied or talked down to and is always treated with kindness FIRST at Symbolic Art! Some parents just like to play the victim and can never be satisfied no matter how much you try to accommodate their unrealistic expectations! I encourage all my friends that have children at work and all those I meet that have children to try Symbolic Art out because I know the quality of care and fun they will have! More...

I think every parent goes into panic mode around the month of May. We all are asking ourselves the big question where will my child go for summer camp? I've only been in Nevada for two years and this is the first year were my son wouldn't be to old to be in daycare. I started my search pretty early trying to find a place where he and I would be comfortable . Let's face it he has to be there for 8 hours and it would make for a long summer if he or I did not feel good about where I placed him. Finding Symbolic Art Center was truly a blessing, Mr. Al and his staff from day one were amazing!! They took the time to explain the program gave me a tour and made sure all of my questions were answered. My son has had a wonderful experience at Symbolic Art Center, everyday he tells me something fun or exciting he did that day. At the end of the day as a parent I want my child to be safe and secure, I am happy to say I have found a camp that gives me that peace of mind. Thank you Symbolic Art Center!! More...

I wholeheartedly DISAGREE with the two negative comments below. Both of my kids have attended their summer camp for a couple of years now and we are 100% thrilled with what they do. Not only do our kids have a blast with group activities and being with their friends, but the supervision and care that they receive is wonderful. We are over-protective parents and any time (not often AT ALL) we have had a small concern about something, it was addressed and solved immediately. We have never felt like our kids were treated poorly, not supervised well or caused to "fend for themselves", like one reviewer stated. What I love most about the staff at Symbolic Art is that they genuinely care about the kids and enjoy inspiring them and treating them with respect. I also like that they don't allow the kids to act out of control. If a child got in trouble for "having fun", I can assure you that the child and that parent's idea of "fun" is probably not the kind of "fun" I would like my child to be around. As for the bullying, I am VERY confident that the staff at Symbolic Art addresses any form of bullying immediately. On rare occasion we might hear from our kids when we pick them up if anything happened and how it was handled. Never once have we been disappointed with their response and intolerance of a certain behavior. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I find that using statements like "racist", "narcissistic" and "don't care about the kids" are slanderous and also far fetched in an attempt to threaten a business who thrives on word of mouth. Lastly, if it were "all about the money", by looking at the affordability of the camp and after school care, I can assure you that this is BY FAR the most laughable comment made.  I had approached them regarding adding in two more children at the end of summer (my niece and nephew), but the cost of 4 kids total was going to be difficult. Al made it clear that they would work with us, and I believe that he will. Thank you for all that you do for my kids and the community! You are appreciated! More...

Wow this place offers an amazing opportunity for some kids at Elementary Schools.  My daughter goes to RHB Elementary and I was dreading sending her to Safekey.  All the kids talk bad about Safekey but Symbolic Art offered something different.  The only bad thing is that it isn't offered 5 days a week.  But we are hoping they will be able to provide services 5 days a week. They help my daughter with her homework. Provide her with a snack and drink and give her lots of activities to do.  This Center also comes to the school during lunch time and has more of an organized recess activity, such as kick ball, four square, jump over the river, flag football, soccer, and tee-ball for the kids and has made my daughter love going to recess (she isn't the type gal to normally like recess).  I encourage anyone who has an opportunity to allow their kids participate in this club after school at RHB to do so. Q&As

Parties evolve in waves. We believe in respecting each stage by playing appropriate music selections within the context of the moment. The initial stage is the introduction - or "warm up" phase where people are getting ready to "Party" - we play the type of music to prime them and get them ready to move on to the next wave. By reading the crowd for cues we figure out the best direction to take based on their reaction and participation. We maintain a good balance - a mixture between popular dance/party songs and songs where people can get a break and groove along to. Following key indicators as a result of reading the crowd is what we believe makes a party fun and an enjoyable experience.

We "Rock" a party "Freestyle".

Every group has different expectations and we believe it's important to gain an understanding of the setting and what type of group we are playing to - as soon as possible. I am a music enthusiast and can easily transition from one genre to another. I prefer to play music "I personally like" so I will only accept opportunities to play according to what I personally enjoy rocking to.

I "Love" to rock a party.

I enjoy watching people make connections with one another and with me through my music. This is "Not" a job for me - it's an experience - an opportunity to "Create". What I love most is how I get to realize a unique experience with every opportunity I get to play. I am a student of the art of playing music and I enjoy the way "Music" creates lasting impressions - the way it contributes to memorable experiences and being part of those experiences is a priceless opportunity for me. People will "Never" remember the DJ who played their favorite song "But" they will always remember the moment the song was played.

As long as I can remember - since I was about ten years of age I enjoyed listening to all types of music especially old school R&B. My uncle is a DJ and I grew up listening to him play House music. I started out playing as a hobby because I was so intrigued by listening to my favorite DJs as they demonstrated an ability to put certain tracks together and create a vibe, a connection - an emotional experience. This is something I wanted to duplicate and I have been successful doing it specifically for youth who participate in my program at "SymbolicArtCenter.com" as well as those elementary schools who support our efforts.

My opportunities to play continue with invitations to play events such as: F.I.R.S.T - a Robotics 2017 Competition/LV, birthday parties, youth dances i.e. homecoming, 5th grade and 8th grade and Flip N' Out Xtreme - an indoor trampoline park/LV

I delayed expanding our DJ services professionally for a long time to concentrate efforts on other areas to make money on a more consistent basis. Branching off our DJ services as a separate business proposition has become a natural conclusion since our primary non profit business is now more stabilized. As far as I am concerned this "business" represents an opportunity to create additional possibilities to receive invitations to play.

Clients who hire our DJ services indirectly support our efforts to provide affordable before/after school programming for youth ages 4-14. "All" proceeds are received as a donation in support of our non profit organization and therefore may be tax deductible.

A few of our qualities to consider: Timeliness, Flexibility & Affordability.

Timeliness - we are very conscientious when it comes to arriving in enough time - at least :45 minutes prior to the start time to perform a sound check and begin playing "On time" | Flexibility - we adjust our music selection to match the mood and vibe of the crowd. Although we consult with the prospective client several weeks ahead of the scheduled event to gather information regarding the overall concept of the occasion - and request a list of favorite songs - we do this as a starting point to help us create a playlist of preferred tracks. We are willing to expand the playlist as stipulated to also include similar tracks that complement the event | Affordability - our rates are intentionally priced below the market of comparable mobile DJs - we do this "Not" to compete on price - but rather to leave room to provide more in service and exceed client expectations.
