We hired Soraya and her staff for both catering and coordinating. We had a wedding in the middle of a field on our family property and she helped the day run smoothly. As you can imagine it was a lot to develop a venue from scratch. Soraya made sure i had everything i needed which helped to relieve a lot of stress for us and our family. SYB was absolutely AMAZING! We had to change our big wedding plans to an intimate small backyard wedding due to COVID. With high risk parents on both sides, we were so concerned about having our wedding and bringing in outside vendors. Our new wedding plan was to have 10 people socially distanced in our backyard. Soraya made me feel so comfortable with her knowledge of food preparation, especially given her dedicated commitment to stay on top of guidelines around food prep during this time. Dinner was absolutely incredible!! Soraya knows what she’s doing and I would hire her for any event in the future and recommend her to everyone we know! My daughter and her fiancé had to cancel their venue due to Covid-19 restrictions but MA was allowing up to 100 for outdoor events so they changed their plans to a small backyard wedding with about 40 guests. We needed to find a caterer quickly and Soraya's proposal was quick and thorough. Day of went so smoothly, her staff was excellent, the food delicious and their clean-up in our kitchen was impressive. I had so many different thoughts and ideas for my wedding, I was going crazy. When I met with Soraya she was so comforting to me, and had vendors for all of my ideas. She put my wants and wishes together seamlessly for my wedding day. Anytime that I had a concern or worry, I called her and it was resolved immediately. Soraya was always accessible to me. I worked with Soraya at SYB Event Planning and Catering for our department’s annual three-shift holiday event and it went really well. People loved the food. We had thick ham slices, mashed potatoes, green beans, grilled chicken with sauce on the side, ziti pasta and rolls. The next day, people were still talking and complimenting the good food. The catering staff was very nice and did a good job serving the food at all three shifts. We also had strawberry shortcake for dessert and it was delish. Everyone loved it. She was able to deftly organize a complete wedding in a matter of a few weeks in mid- October 2018 that included wonderful food designed around a custom tailored menu, facilitate catering arrangements and most importantly, seamlessly orchestrate the entire wedding reception with ease on the special day. Our daughter's wedding was now just over a month ago. It was amazing! And this is saying a lot for a number of reasons. The wedding itself was on a small island in the middle of a lake in New Hampshire while the reception was outside a private home in the woods near the lake. 92 guests were shuttled out to the island and back to the house. This involved rented school buses and somewhere around eight or nine boats. While we were out on the island, Soraya and her assistant were doing incredible things in the very meager kitchen. They had driven all the way up from the Worchester, Mass. area with all they needed to feed us one of the best wedding meals I have ever had. I still don't understand how they did it. They fed 92 hungry adults, under a tent down the hill from the house with delicious hot food, never ran out, and there were only two of them. They performed a miracle. By the time they left, they had cleaned everything up, left us the extra food in the fridge, bagged all the trash and then left no trace that they were at the wedding beyond the happy 92 guests and the leftovers. I'm sorry that this is our last daughter's wedding. We'd hire SYB again in a heartbeat! More...

I hired Soraya to Cater our Open House. This was the best decision I could have made. I was filled with questions leading up to the event and was very impressed with how fast she got back to me every time. She walked me through the process so that I was very comfortable having her take the lead on set up and execution of the event. The owner of the company told me the next day that I "hit the ball out of the park" with the party and I have Soraya to Thank for that! Hiring Soraya from S.Y.B. Event planning was the best wedding decision we made! She is extremely professional, friendly, organized and literally takes care of EVERYTHING. We originally contacted her for catering services (she has connections with many great restaurants and chefs and really works with you to build your perfect menu-organizing tastings and hand picking each menu item) but she also helped us with everything from finding a DJ to working with our hotel venue to manage the day-of coordination. I would highly recommend you take advantage of Soraya's "Day-of Coordination" service-she works non-stop to make sure everything flows smoothly, coordinating with all of your vendors and managing the timeline for your entire wedding reception. We are very happy with SYB event planning. We wanted to have a wedding celebration in our backyard and did not want to spend too much yet wanted it look classy. With Soraya's help, we managed to do just that. She was great to work with, always accessible and very resourceful! We were expecting about 100 people and initially were not sure if we want a event planner but we are just so glad we went with one in the end. She was on top of everything and made sure every small detail was taken care of. Her recommendations for caterer and liquor suppliers were excellent. Food was top notch and we saved a lot on the liquor even though we had a pretty well stocked bar with all kinds of liquor. hired Soraya to help with catering for our corporate event in Boston. From the day I found her, she has been nothing but pleasant and helpful with us. She came to see our office space and helped us with suggestions on floor plan. She customized a menu for us and the food was AMAZING!! I have never had steak tips like that before. Soroya and her team are fantastic! They recently catered a fundraising sailing regatta for me and were wonderful from start to finish: planning, sourcing, staffing, and follow through. Planning a destination wedding in Newport, RI in 6 months while living hundreds of miles away, working full time, moving once cross-country, finding a new job, starting a new job, etc, etc, is no easy task, even with a wedding planner!  With everything going on in my life, plus the short timeframe (the wedding date we selected was 6 months out from the day we secured the venue), and the fact that I am a perfectionist, I knew I was going to need help.  I was lucky enough to come across SYB Event Planning while on Thumbtack.  I interviewed a few companies and ended up selecting SYB because Soraya, the owner, and I really clicked while talking on the phone.  While I wasn't necessarily looking for a cultural wedding, I knew she would understand some of the nuances with our families because my husband and I come from different cultural backgrounds.  Soraya specializes in taking the time to understand different cultures and she goes out of her way to embed as much or as little as you want of you or your partner's culture into your wedding.   I'm so glad I had Soraya for the entire wedding planning process and for the day of the wedding.  Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and totally exceeded my expectations (this is a perfectionist speaking...just for some perspective).  I don't think that could have been possible without having Soraya helping along the way. She challenged me to think about things I would have never thought of and took care of all the details.  She went above and beyond to make sure the wedding was as successful as it could be.  She even drove over 90 miles each way to get us a cute favor that we really wanted for our guests...without hesitating!  I didn't even ask her, but when she heard me talking about what I would like to do if the place was closer, she just jumped in and said she would take care of it.  I'm so thankful for everything Soraya did to make our special day a success and would highly recommend her to anyone trying to plan a wedding. "My mothers 60th Birthday Celebration"They catered at a hall for about 130 guests. The experience was fantastic! They arrived two hours before the event and were completely independent and did everything themselves. When the food was out, everyone kept raving about how GREAT it was. Our guests continued to rave about the food a week after the party! Not only was the food delicious and exactly what we wanted the staff were extremely professional and courteous to our guests. They smiled and went the extra mile, which made our guests feel even better about the time they were having at our party. Their clean-up was perfection and they did not leave a trace behind.
