Although I have no fear in water, I've never been comfortable due to not being able to swim properly. Since having these lessons I have had the confidence to go to my local swimming pool and practise.
I have never been someone that learns well in group settings, so found the 1-2-1 lessons really appealing.
I really appreciated how for a swimming stroke, it was broken down to its constituent parts and basic technique explained, which helped get rid of bad habit picked up over the years. Each lesson was tailored to how I was progressing and if there were any areas I was experiencing difficulty ,that was focused on.
I would definitely recommend these lessons and can definitely see myself having more in the future to help myself improve further.

I was looking for swimming lessons somewhere close to work. I could barely swim and was afraid of being in water. The approach in lessons was great and very tailored. One exercise after another my technique was building up and my fears were disappearing. After 10 lessons I felt very comfortable in water. And after 20 I'm quite a good swimmer. Now I only need to work on my endurance.

Great swimming lessons! I highly recommend. Steven was patient, explained the technique very well and the exercises were varied. I very much enjoyed all the lessons and quickly improved front crawl, breaststroke and backstroke.

I've been having swimming lessons with Steven since October 2016, and have been very happy with his teaching. He is a patient and encouraging teacher who has helped me to greatly improve my swimming technique. I have no hesitation in recommending him and Swimming Class for anyone new to swimming or anyone looking to improve.

If you are a complete beginner and want to learn the basics very quickly, please don't hesitate and book a crash course with swimmingclass.co.uk. Although I'd taken swimming lessons as a child, my fear of putting my head underwater stopped me from LEARNING how to swim.

At 31, I decided it was time to finally face my fears and booked myself onto a 5 day intensive course. I was a nervous wreck on the first day but the nerves quickly faded away as my lesson with Steven progressed. His calm, friendly and encouraging teaching methods made me realise that there was absolutely nothing to be afraid of and I have come out of each lesson learning and achieving so much more than the previous.

I can't praise Steven enough - he had the perfect balance of knowing when to jump in and help me improve my technique and when to push me (in the nicest possible way) to practise my newly acquired skills independently. By lesson three, by some miracle, I was already attempting front crawl!

My intensive course finishes tomorrow and as sad as I am about it ending, I am so happy to say that I can finally swim! I know I have a long way to to go before I can become a great swimmer but I'm confident that with practise and another block of lessons already in the diary, I can easily achieve this. Huge thank you to Brian for being super efficient in organising my lessons at such short notice and to the wonderful Steven for making the impossible possible - I have (quite literally!) fallen head over heels with swimming! :)

Great swimming lessons. Stephen is an excellent coach who picks up the smallest tweaks that make a huge difference when you are learning as an adult. He also pushes you the uncomfortable bits, which is what you want from a coach!.

Great experience. Very patient teaching and nice staff.

I give rating 4 because the only disappointment is pool quality and gym facilities: slightly below average if compared with major big gyms or aquatic centres in London.

Another notice: if you are a student or a temporary visitor to London, make sure you plan your learning schedules in advance--the team would be busy in Summer and therefore asking for schedule changes for your holidays or other unexpected plans would not always be easy. In such cases, I would suggest pay as you go plan to avoid further issues concerning refund or time clash. However, if you have a rather fixed and regular timetable, paying for several lessons in advance would be more reasonable and convenient. It all depends on your personal situation.

Nevertheless, the staff there were nice and easy-going. If you have any problem, just talk to them directly. I reckon a pleasant response and a satisfactory solution would always be available.

Brian is very good instructor - I had already had a few lessons in the past but wanted to improve my front crawl and general confidence in the water. Brian is a patient instructor and has good tips and techniques to improve my swimming and I made real progress in 5 days of lessons. The pool is nice and clean - not too deep and it wasn't busy but that obviously depends on the timing of the lesson. The changing facilities at the gym are basic but also clean.

I had lessons at Swimming Class UK during several months and learned front crawl, breaststroke and backstroke. Steven is an excellent teacher, I did appreciate his patience, energy and honest feedback. Recommend the school without hesitation.

Nice small pool in a nice small gym; none of the pounding noise and hustle and bustle of a "mega gym". An excellent location for swimming lessons.
The tutor is also great. He gets the balance of when to encourage you to go further and when to let you settle at your own pace just right.
The perfect choice whether you are a complete beginner or just a little rusty and looking to improve.

Wouldn't put my head under water to triathlete. Brian and Steven are excellent swimming coaches who understand the challenges that everyone faces when learning to swim at any age. They work with this and tailor the coaching session to ability and confidence. In doing so this results in quicker results and improvements that you notice quite quickly. I travel an hour each way to the lesson but I have to say it's worth it. I always wanted to do a triathlon but just didn't have enough confidence in the water. The guys have given me this and now I'm working towards realising a dream of completing London Triathlon in August. See you at the finish line. Thanks guys.

Brian at Swimmingclass has been my swimming teacher for a couple of months - I started as a total beginner, border line fear of water case and now I can say I swim...even though there always is a room for improvement. I believe Brian reads his clients well, assesses their needs and in a calm yet fun manner helps you make it happen

Had swimming lessons with Steven over the past few months and he was really brilliant. I never learnt how to swim as a child, and having tried a few adult group and one on one lessons in the past, I found the whole experience very frustrating and not very encouraging so I gave up each time. When I decided to set myself a new challenge for 2016, of taking part in a competitive swim, I had no choice but to find someone who could teach me how to swim! Luckily a friend recommended Swimming Class UK and from the first lesson Steven was great. He’s a really patient teacher, and broke everything down into stages and was happy to repeat the same thing over and over until I got it. The lessons have totally transformed my outlook on swimming, I really love it now, and it feels great not to be scared of the deep end anymore. I can’t recommend Steven enough, it’s clear that he loves his job and it’s so great to be taught by someone who’s so enthusiastic about what he’s doing.

Brian was very professional and supportive. I wanted to learn front crawl from scratch- my previous swimming experience being only in breast stroke after a few lessons as an teenager. He was able to tailor the lessons to my needs. He is obviously passionate about swimming and teaching. A positive experience.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND BRIAN. Very professional, funny and friendly. Im finally not afraid of being in the pool/sea. He made me feel very confident and trust myself more. If you are a beginner and have fear of being in the water, you should definitely try his lessons. :)
