Sweet Relief catered our wedding on June 24th at Meig's Point, Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, CT. Eric was wonderful from the tasting and quotes for different options all the way to the day of the wedding. The staff was wonderful, on time and professional. We had appetizers with cocktails then a buffet dinner of lobster, chicken, paella, corn on the cob, roasted potatoes and salad...We had so many complements on the food! We had Sweet Relief cater our wedding on 9/30 and Eric is amazing! The food is incredible (all our guests raved about the blue cheese meatballs) he and Zuly make a great team neither of them seem to get stressed about anything and pulled off the whole wedding without a hitch. Eric catered an art gallery reception of mine in Southington, and it was incredible! The thought he put into it, matching the type of food with the style of art, and putting thought behind the flow of the room, and how that would interact with the food setup. He asked questions, that I didn't think of regarding the art, and themes..things I never would have thought of. The way the food was displayed was above and beyond what I expected, and received so many compliments on how beautiful it was. Never once during the entire reception did I see an empty cup, dirty napkin, plate etc. He's an incredibly hard worker, I noticed how he didn't stop the entire event, and is an absolute master at this. We booked Sweet Relief Catering for our wedding this past march 2018 and was the best choice we made! Eric was amazing to work with and was constantly reassuring me that everything would go fine, and sure enough it did! Having someone like Eric who knows the ropes and was really able to steer us in the direction of price and tasting style that we wanted was priceless. He made our wedding planning experience painless and so much easier! Now the food!! The food was excellent (we had a buffet style for 130 people with chicken piccata, ham, and plank seared salmon which was amazing!!!! I don’t even like fish and I loved it!) we got nothing but compliments about how good the food was, how lovely the tables looked, and how attentive and kind the servers were throughout the night. Sweet relief also provideded the linens for our wedding and set up our tables to look beautiful! I can not say enough good things about Sweet Relief Catering! They catered my wedding, and did a fantastic job! There was a few issues with my venue allowing an outside caterer, as they typically do not allow it, but i PUSHED for having them be part of our special day! We looked for a caterer on the internet for our wedding and based on reviews decided to check out Sweet relief.We went down to West Haven to meet with Eric and talk about the menu. It is an unassuming building, but easy to find. Once we tasted the food Eric was preparing for us we knew we had found our guy.The day of the wedding, everything went as planned. The food was perfectly prepared and delicious. We received multiple compliments from our guests. The staff that worked the event were supremely professional; down to the detail of getting on hands and knees to clean a floor of the kitchen that was used for prep. Reception for 165 at the Overlook at Geer Tree Farm in Griswold, CT. We were a proactive couple and started planning/budgeting early. Pricing out a large dinner was an initial concern. After contacting a number of caterers (and being awe-struck by how much they were charging), Eric got back to us to set up a tasting in West Haven. In doing so, we expressed some interest in a number of his food offerings and services and told him our approximated (modest) budget. When we walked into his shop - he had a sweetheart table set up for us and he was cooking. He invited us in, introduced himself, and poured us some berry-infused ice water into our glasses. The whole tasting included many of the dishes we had expressed interest in and each was excellent - a full meal with hors d'oeuvres. We looked around a bit more, but no one offered the value that Eric and Sweet Relief had. Eric's style is very laid back - as a proactive couple with high expectations - that's something to get used to, but in the end, its what you need. From the contract, to the meal specifics, to detail planning, and set up/timeline, etc. Eric took all of the many requests in stride and kept our minds at ease. I LOVE working with Eric! This is the second time that my non-profit has used this catering company. The first time was for a very large function of over 200 people back in July- Eric was extremely easy to work with and helped us to build a menu that would best suit our needs.
So now it's company X-mas party time and of course we all agreed to call Sweet Relief! Sweet Relief did a fabulous job catering my daughter's wedding. Eric was flexible, accessible, and extremely easy to work with. He and his staff were great - passing appetizers, cleaning up, cutting the cake, putting together plates for the bride and groom. The food was excellent - many compliments on the grilled salmon and the scallop ceviche in particular. Sweet Relief Catering went above and beyond our expectations for the food and service at our wedding. Having an outdoor wedding, so I googled outdoor caterers and came across Sweet Relief. The prices seemed too good to be true, especially after meeting with other caterers in Southeastern CT. When we met with Eric at his store front in West Haven for a tasting we were blown away completely. Eric was such a great host. We did not have to make any changes because the menu he prepared was absolutely perfect. The price was amazing for the extraordinary food that Eric serves. He always responded to us promptly and even when we upped our guest count by 50 people, it was not an issue. It was so nice to have a vendor so accommodating during the crazy wedding planning. On the day of the wedding, even though they had never been to the venue before, everything went seamlessly. They adapted perfectly with the setting. Not only this, but on our wedding day, August 15th, 2015 there was an 8 car pile-up on I-95 which was the main route from West Haven to our wedding almost 50 miles away. Other vendors and guests that were driving an eighth of that distance had a hard time. His staff even came up to my husband and asked if they could help with anything else which was great because our venue was lacking tremendously. This was above and beyond what we expected. We had plenty. Every single person at the wedding loved the food and I have had many ask about Sweet Relief because they were so impressed. The sesame crusted cedar plank salmon was most popular; and I have had at least 10 people tell me it was the best salmon they have ever had. And one person who hated salmon before this loved this dish; and went back for seconds. If you are planning an event, hire Sweet Relief Catering and you can rest easy that everything will go smooth. We were married September 5th at Hammonnasset State Park and Sweet Relief catered. They were amazing! We had our wedding late August at the Light House Point Park in New Haven, CT. If you're having a wedding/event, I can't recommend Sweet Relief enough. We had a relatively small wedding (50 people) and they were still happy to work with us.

We had baby back ribs, chicken and a host of sides and appetizers before. People kept coming up to *me* telling me how great the food was (ribs, stuffed mushrooms, etc.). We also got an open bar from them which I'd really recommend as well.

Eric was able to make some modifications to the menu and bar selection very close to our wedding which was also a big help. For the price of the open bar it's impossible to beat the selection.

We reviewed about 5 different caterers, Sweet Relief was easily the best from the moment we stopped in for a tasting. Eric helped us with our menu and talked with us about what to expect from vendors/venues.

If your event is in New Haven and you aren't going with Sweet Relief you're messing up. Also, get the ribs. More...

We actually picked a menu off their BBQ selection and were able to bundle it with some the wedding rentals (linens, plates, etc. , we got tables and chairs elsewhere). The food was phenomenal (the cedar plank grilled salmon got RAVE reviews from the guests) and everything was exactly what we wanted. Sweet Relief Catering was fantastic food for a very reasonable price (other vendors that we sampled with wanted double or even more). Eric was a little difficult to reach after booking, due to other events, but he was responsive the month before the event and he ensured that the food for our wedding was a success. We strongly recommend Sweet Relief. Eric and his team did great work. We had several meetings with Eric, and he was responsive to our concerns and gave us some ideas for how to fix problems. He was also flexible in terms of accommodating changes to our plan and number of guests. The food was good. The bar service was very good according to our guests: we had some fairly late changes to the drink menu, but these were taken care of with not much trouble. Over the course of planning the wedding, we realized the caterer is really the vendor at the heart of the whole thing, and so it’s important to find one that isn’t going to drive you crazy and will get everything done in a low-key way. We had BBQ for our wedding. When we did the taste testing, the food was amazing, and we were very excited to share it with our guests.
