Both my wife and I had to work this Thanksgiving. Usually we cook a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with family but thought we wold try something different and had it catered. The food was outstanding loved everything. Maybe next time we would get the turkey deep fried as opposed to smoked but all in all the bird and trimmings where excellent there was some other restaurant choices but I am confident we made the right choice. We used SBRs for my wedding this past Saturday. They did an absolute amazing job, and that started with the planning, which Claire made stress free and a breeze. The event director and all of the staff were awesome the day of! They wouldn’t let any of us lift a finger. They were on top of everything and went over above and beyond. I would not have changed a thing! The food was amazing! My guests couldn’t get over how great it all was, and I’m sure they’ll be talking about it for years to come! We used Sweet Baby Ray's Catering for our wedding and it was an absolute hit! People are still talking about how good the food was! I had the pleasure of working with Lauren Winkler of SBR and she was absolutely amazing. She made everything easy as far as planning and helping us decide what to include for our wedding menu. She answered all of my questions promptly and even made some recommendations which worked out perfectly.We got the buffet which included the chicken, pulled pork, Mac & cheese, baked beans and vegetables. We are still dreaming about the meatball appetizers and baked mac n cheese from our wedding! We worked with Meghann for about a year to create the perfect menu for our special day. She answered all of our emails (and there were a lot!) quickly and with great detail. They also worked with our budget so we didn't break the bank, but still got an incredible package. Sweet Baby Ray's set-up our entire wedding venue and made it look exactly as I envisioned. From the moment our guest's arrived, everyone was taken care of with such great care. As soon as I entered the venue a server came to bring me some water and see if I needed anything else. It was such a nice gesture as the day had already been a whirlwind. We have used SBR Catering 6 times now and counting. The food is absolutely terrific--on par with a 4-star restaurant. Truly. The service is great, and if you have not tried the corned beef, you are missing something special. Everything with Sweet Baby Ray's Catering and Lauren Winkler was absolutely amazing!! We could not have picked a better caterer for our Oct. 6, 2018 wedding in Chicago, IL. From the minute we sat at our first food tasting we knew they would stand out from all the rest. The price was exactly what we had hoped to find and the food was out of this world delicious. All of the hors d'oeuvres, salads, and entrees we tried were amazing. After the wedding everyone told us how amazing the food was and I would definitely like to use their services again in the future.We didn't have a wedding planner or day of coordinator so I was extremely stressed about everything looking perfect and Lauren and Kayla took care of everything and made sure it was even more beautiful than I had planned. Sweet Baby Ray's catering was absolutely excellent for our son's wedding at the Grove Redfield estate. When rain necessitated a last minute change of plans, the caterers were on it immediately and created a beautiful experience for us despite the change to indoors from outdoors. Sandra put us at ease and made sure every detail was covered, down to setting up the cake and the unity candles. The food was absolutely delicious and plentiful, and we received many compliments on it. I especially recommend the smoked turkey, Mac and cheese, and cornbread muffins. I love the diversity of the menu, the daily specials, the random specials you'd never expect and all the people that make every visit memorable. Watch for and attend an array of special events. You just missed the ultimate behind the scenes competition class and the opportunity to hear stories from Sweet Baby Ray and his nephew Duce (a 4 yr. culinary chef) who shared how they prepare award winning chicken, ribs, pork butt and brisket. Everything from start to finish, complete with a KCBS judge in attendance, who shared his insight into what a judge looks for. Of course the best part was sampling all the delicious entries. Well done Chef! And Duce's assistant Tim shared even more stories and helpful tips. Look for "Duce's Wild" brand competition style sauces and rubs available at the restaurant. The staff will make you feel like you stopped by their home. Full service catering (from the bar to desserts) is right next door too. More...

Our guests are still raving about how good the food at our wedding was. It is "fancy" BBQ and makes it feel like wedding food but is far better because it's BBQ and not just rubber chicken or a pasta station. We had a BBQ buffet of brisket, bone in Alabama chicken and Mac & cheese, green beans, potatoes and smokehouse salad. Everything was so freaking good! And they let you take home any leftovers! (My new in-laws were very pleased!)After signing our contract, we did have some difficulties getting in touch with our coordinator we were assigned to. Sometimes it would take several weeks to get a response which was a bit unprofessional. They are a smaller caterer but I still felt like after a month of waiting for an email, even after following up, that we were justified to be frustrated. After this happened a few times, I reached out to the other staff at SBRC and they immediately stepped up and made my husband and I feel better and that they did value our event & answered our questions. Going into our walk through, I was a bit nervous since our coordinator wasn't able to be there. But Rain and Helina made us feel at ease and that we were in good hands! They both knew so much about our venue and made great suggestions. On the day of, the staff was AMAZING! Every server and bartender was kind, quick, professional and on time. It blew us away. The food stands alone but the staff and the timing that we had established really made our wedding move which is what you need! We hired Sweet Baby Ray's for our wedding catering and the food was delicious! So many of our guests are still raving about the food, and how it was so nice to have non-standard wedding food. Mallory was very easy to work with, and was super responsive, especially as we got closer and closer to the day. We hired True Cuisine for our wedding and we were very happy. Not to say there weren't a few minor hiccups along the way, but they were so great on the day of the wedding that it more than makes up for it. Overall, communication with them was good and they were flexible with changes up to 2 days before the wedding. We worked with Lisa for the majority of the process and then on the wedding day Sue was the main person coordinating everything and she was fantastic. I left signs for her (dessert signs, cake stand) and she was on top of it. She was very pleasant and was very attentive to our needs! Everything was smooth and the food was very good! Sue made everything stress-free for us. I only wish they saved us a tray of the cocktail hour food because with the whirlwind of everything my husband and I didn't get to have much of it. We hired True Cuisine & SBB C for our wedding in July, 2015. Incredible food, and was definitely the highlight. Good wait staff. Reasonable prices. The event coordinator I worked with was Alison S, and she was a pleasure to work with throughout the planning process. I met with her a few times in person, and she was super helpful and quick to respond. With that said, there were a few moments on the day the wedding of that might've shadowed the few months of planning before then. The day of our wedding, some of the details seemed to get left out. About 30 min the ceremony began, while we were taking pictures, she came to me pretty stressed about a detail I thought we'd already worked out (related to sodas/drinks). And, there were times were I felt like she was rushing me to get to the cake cutting. (I later learned that her plan was to leave after the cake cutting). It is not possible to give enough stars to True Cuisine! We just had the pleasure of using TC for our wedding on 11-13-15. Words cannot describe how wonderful they were! We worked with Alison Sousa throughout our planning and we couldn't have had someone better! She listened to everything we said and answered all of our questions until we were 100% comfortable with how things were going. Now for the food. When my husband and I were first looking for a caterer for our wedding, we said the food was priority #1. We had both been to countless weddings where the food was lackluster and poorly cooked. The food from True Cuisine was "the best food we have ever had at a wedding" by countless guests. We had 4 appetizers: coconut chicken bites, stuffed mushrooms, loaded potato cups and cornbread muffins topped with pulled pork. All of them were devoured! For dinner we started with the walnut, cranberry and Valencia orange salad. It had a touch of blue cheese in it as well. Perfect seasonal start to the meal. We chose Merlot braised brisket and chile lime seared tilapia as our entrées. Again, THE BEST food! Everything was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. I have had the pleasure of working with both Maria Collins (who has since left) and Alison Sousa as both an events manager and as a bride. Imagine the typical BBQ, but fancied up. No fancy cheese-on-a-cracker-with-a-fruit here, and if you are aiming for that type of food, please check somewhere else. True Cuisine has amazing meat, and my wedding focused on brisket, ribs, mac and cheese,a pyramid o' cheese, and all sorts of dainties that will probably end up with me dying in my 30's of heart failure (Duck quesadillas! Reuben egg rolls! CRAB CAKES!). Sure, there was one person complaining that we needed a salad, but, as Bart Simpson once said, 'You can't win friends with salad'. My guests could not stop raving about the food. How often does that happen at weddings? Alison was fantastic to work with, as she took consideration of all the things we wanted (Chicago-based beer options, keeping food out, etc) and went with it. We've hired True Cuisine for a number of years now for the JP Morgan Chase Corp Challenge and like the event, they have gotten better year after year. The health codes are strict and they keep their food at the right temperature. We had over 200 people eat at our event and we heard nothing but glowing comments about the staff (6 stars) and the excellent food - the beef brisket and 7 layer brownies are requirements for your catering order. The tables were always neat and clean and the food looked very appetizing for our runners/walkers. We'll most likely hire them again next year because they don't mess around and when you have so many people to please as a host - you don't want to mess around as well. So you have a choice - be lavished with positive comments the following morning at the office or hear endless criticism about this or that....it's a no brainer. More...

I wish I could give more stars! We hired this company to cater our outdoor wedding. From the beginning, they were so helpful with the taste testing (delicious) and helping with the table layout. They offer an à la cart selection for everything, so you don't end up paying for anything that you don't want. This was perfect for us! You can choose to have a bar package, or not have a bar package, have more meat choices, have less meat choices. Literally you can pick and choose everything to fit your budget. We worked with Sandra to go back-and-forth and narrow down exactly what we wanted. They were very accommodating about making changes to our proposal. What really floored me was the service the day of the reception. The caterer workers themselves went so above and beyond, they helped clear tables, which they didn't need to do, they were kind in talking to our guests, they were phenomenal! We researched several caterers before choosing one for our wedding. Many really weren't interested in working with us as we had planned a small wedding. When we went out for quotes we originally said 40 people. Sandra was more than willing to work with a party of our size. As soon as we met Sandra at our tasting we knew we had picked our caterer! The food was OUTSTANDING! We spent 9 months just waiting to eat the delicious food again! Sandra was VERY helpful throughout the process. She was responsive and always willing to make changes when needed. I turned into what one might call a "Groomzilla" before it was over and I think Sandra made at least 5 revisions to our quote prior to the big day! On the big day everything went perfectly and the food got rave reviews! Oh and I almost forgot...the VALUE! My husband and I still talk about what a great deal we got!
