This was our second trip to Sweet Agave. We went to get a bite before going dancing at Glen Echo Park. We love the food, and the table service is very friendly. This salsa that comes free with fresh chips is especially delicious. I had some delicious fish tacos, and my partner enjoyed the enchiladas carnitas. This time, the restaurant was very busy, and it took a long time to get our meal. Our server volunteered to take one entree off the bill, which we thought was way more than required, but very kind. This is the second time I’ve come into Sweet Agave, and again Becky was behind the bar. I walked in not knowing there was a big party going on. There was a great energy in the room with everyone socializing and eating/ drinking. Everyone’s energy in the room was amazing thanks to the staff and the kitchen. We enjoyed fish tacos and camarones a la Agave. In a cuisine that sometimes seeks fire over flavor, both of these showed care and creativity, with the focus on taste. This restaurant is wonderful. I took my two kids under 12 there on a Monday night at 6:00pm. We were encouraged by the good reviews and wanted to give a local new restaurant a chance. It was quiet due to the time and extremely pleasant. Our waitress was kind and patient. The menu was complete.Delicious and simple. Complimentary chips and salsa arrived at the table immediately. We started with the Mexican corn ( it was beautiful and roasted). Got all the toppings on the side and it was really nicely presented.All sauces and tortillas made in house. Salsa was perfect. Mild but super tasty and light.I had shrimp tacos with lime. Light and so refreshing. Mole chicken enchiladas that almost tasted like dessert. So cocoa and cinnamony. Everyone loved them.We got a seasoned skirt steak with an over easy egg on it. Egg was perfect and the steak was cooked well and not too tough. Desserts looked great but I was so full. We really enjoyed our first time visiting this newly opened Tex Mex restaurant. My two boys shared a kids chicken quesadilla; loaded with cheese and chicken, they devoured it! My wife really loved her spinach quesadilla; as a vegetarian she doesn’t always feel she has great options at restaurants, but she found the veg range at Sweet Agave to be quite good.
