When I needed the advice and services of a professional chimney sweep a few years ago Paul was the only one of several individuals who had the courtesy to return my call promptly. It was obvious that Paul knows his stuff. He sourced and installed my DEFRA-approved stove and registered it through HETAS. Since then Paul has been checking the stove, sweeping the chimney, without any fuss or mess, and now advising about fuel and UK law governing smoke emissions. Paul is also willing to liaise with the local authority on my behalf and considers this part of his duty and integrity as a professional sweep! Highly recommend SweepSmart. Paul knows what he is talking about and is part of the chimney sweep guild. He was going to sweep two chimneys but due to safety issues with one of our side) he only swept one and charged us for one. That's what you call gaining credibility! What do you love most about your job?
Sweeping chimneys!! I love original fireplaces and old properties and the quirkiness that come with it. I love meeting an array of different people (and the quirkiness that comes with it).
What inspired you to start your own business?
I got into chimney sweeping through a family member that suffered an accident. He is a chimney sweep in a different part of England and need some help until he got back to full sweeping fitness. I became his full-time apprentice for two years and then set-up my own sweeping business in North London where I am live in 2013.
