A lovely warm welcome awaited us and friendly staff. A good selection of the usual pub foods but also different options from the usual vegetarian fare, rarely found these days. ||I had the African rice dish which was lovely, a little spicy but not overpowering, something I would have again for sure.||There was a lovely log fire which was lit during our stay and a table of games and magazines for our use.||Lovely.||The only downside is it was dark when we left so perhaps the car park opposite on a very busy road could be better lit up. Having to work away for 3 weeks near stoford, I had the pleasure to stay at the swan in stoford, food is very tasty, breakfast layout and menu was very good, especially the poached eggs pitch perfect. Called in after being at Salisbury Hospital for a coffee. Looked at the menu so decided to have a breakfast bap. I had bacon egg and sausage, husband had sausage bap. Both were excellent lovely sausage and nice bacon. Also with the tea and latte we were given a square of homemade chocolate brownie that was to die for, made by the chief. Really very happy with the Swan @ Stoford. I broke down as I approached the pub and had to park in their large car park (next to the pub garden which overlooks the river and meadows! ) while rescue vehicles came to my aid. Fortunately, I was able to grab supper in the pub, which was pulled pork on chicken breast with cheese on top and chips. Not bad at all for £12.99. The pub was quite full and the fire in the hearth added to the atmosphere. Many of the guests were staying there too, I think but I cannot comment on the rooms. We stayed here last night.||Good location for Salisbury.||Clean room but a big thank you to Philip who worked there. He made us and our dog very welcome. In the morning fabulous breakfast and we were able to use the bar so our dog could come with us. This meant others could eat without a dog in the restaurant but our dog was part of our stay. A very warm welcome, excellent service and food. We would recommend this pub. More...

All the staff here were great, without exception. The evening meal was good but the breakfast was special. This was by far the best breakfast I've had this year on various business trips. ||The mattress was also excellent. I had a great night's kip.||One gripe - the green 'emergency light' in the bedroom. Apparently this is a legal requirement but I've not seen it in any other room. I turned off the white ceiling light and the room turned green .... very bright green. Please fix this More...
