We are cut flower growers, mainly specialising in Weddings. Our beautiful flowers are constantly changing through the season, and include scented English Roses, Dahlias, Narcissi, fragrant Sweet Peas, and lots more cottage garden and wild blooms.

From the start Caroline and Kate were extremely helpful and made sure we thought of everything. Considering we didn’t really have much of a clue on what we wanted other than the colours we had envisioned (and not knowing what plants/flowers would provide what we required) Caroline and Kate guided us throughout the whole process from taking us on a tour around their gardens and demonstrating what they were thinking to producing some of the most beautiful pieces on our big day including an amazing foliage cascade. Due to us living in Bristol and therefore not always being available to ‘pop’ down the M4 to visit, it was very difficult at times to meet up, especially at the venue. Due to the brilliance of Caroline and Kate, that didn’t matter as they took matters into their own hands and went to Hendall Manor Barns (the wedding venue) without us to brainstorm ideas which they then pitched to us and explained how it would be done. Both Caroline and Kate went above and beyond to help ensure we had everything we wanted and helped us achieve the most beautiful wedding we dreamt of. We used Sussex cutting for our wedding flowers, Caroline and Kate did a fabulous job. All locally grown, the bouquets and buttonholes looked so pretty and colourful, just what we'd asked for. The decor at the venue was also fab. My Mum made my beautiful bouquet with flowers we picked from Sussex Cutting's garden a few days before the wedding which made it even more personal. I would recommend the Sussex Cutting Garden without hesitation, for any bride wanting locally grown, beautifully fresh, cottage garden style flowers. We wanted a natural and vintage look for our recent wedding at Deans Place. The Sussex Cutting Garden provided a stunning bridal bouquet in exactly the colours I requested, together with button-holes, the prettiest wired flowers for our hair, lovely cake flowers, and gorgeous arrangements in two keepsake boxes for the ceremony and gift tables. A family member created the bridesmaids’ bouquets and arranged the reception flowers in jam jars, using a wonderful selection of seasonal blooms and foliage also supplied by the Sussex Cutting Garden, to complement my bridal bouquet colour scheme. The buckets of flowers they provided were full to the brim with delicate hydrangeas, dahlias, verbena, lavender, ammi and roses to name but a few. The Sussex Cutting Garden did my bouquet and 12 button holes for our wedding at Hawthbush Farm. We also also had 5 of the DIY buckets of stems so we could do the table decorations ourselves; which we picked up the day before. My bouquet and the button holes were absolutely stunning!!! I ordered a bucket of flowers to decorate a room for a wedding party lunch. They were absolutely perfect for this, and filled quite a few vases and jam jars. Sussex Cutting Garden provided a lovely combination of seasonal blooms and being mid September there were lots of dahlias, which were really stunning! I really enjoyed the ‘field to vase’ workshop with Kate & Caroline. I learnt about getting the right mix of stems, what to pick and when, conditioning and searing, adding foliage and arranging them into a hand-tied bouquet using the spiralling technique � I would love to come back again.

I spent a lovely morning at Sussex Cutting Garden in April on their 'From Field to Vase' workshop. We learnt about the initiative, what flowers they grow and then spent a happy 1/2 hour in the garden taking our own cuttings of flowers and foliage to make beautiful hand-tied bouquet.
After a cup of tea and cake, we also learnt how to make a little corsage with a wrist band and small flowers and leaves.
I learnt so much and have been inspired to use cuttings from my own garden in my floristry as well as try my hand at growing Cosmos and Sunflowers this summer. Highly recommend!

We used Sussex Cutting Garden for our wedding in May. The flowers that Kate and Caroline provided were really lovely and they arranged them beautifully. As well as bouquets and buttonholes we had some large displays of flowers on stands. These looked absolutely stunning and really helped make our venue look very special! Many of our guests said that they were the most beautiful flower displays they’d seen! Beautiful flowers, lasted ages and we had a really good selection of different flowers to use for buttonholes, table centrepieces and bouquets. We did everything DIY and just went to get buckets the day before the wedding. We went to the open day in the summer and enjoyed going round the gardens picking our own. We could see photos of flowers and how others have used them at they weddings and events which was helpful. One of the best things about our wedding were the amazing locally grown and varied flowers from the Sussex Cutting Centre.
Everybody commented on how great they looked and smelled (mmn mint leaves!).
We went with the 'buckets' of flowers, and did our own arrangements, and the prepared bouquets and buttonholes were fabulous.
We much preferred having flowers we knew were local, seasonal, fresh, and that were a bit more interesting than the usual wedding-types (roses, tulips etc) with more shapes and textures - definitely fit well into our theme which reflected the British countryside and wildlife!

It is hugely rewarding to raise and nurture plants, then cut and arrange the stems to create beautiful Wedding arrangements.
Every Week brings a different selection of special stems so no two Weddings are the same.
Clients love the individuality, and their smiles are always a joy.
What inspired you to start your own business?
We wanted to start a 'growing' business, and chose cut flowers as they really captured our imagination.
It is very creative, and involves a lot of planning - and hard work!
Why should our clients choose you?
Our flowers are beautiful, natural and of course local - a lot of 'florist' flowers are imported and tend to lack the scent and individuality of homegrown stems.
We work with our clients to help them achieve their 'look', and make their day special.
