I'm sure with her help and me doing my homework I'll become more flexible. Looking forward to the challenge. Her news letters are interesting and certainly make you think re life issues. Susie is so good at making you want to excercise! I always leave Pilates feeling better and more energised than when I arrived.
Her one to one sessions were great for getting me going after surgery too. She took time to listen (I am no athlete! ) and got me motivated;( and a year on I am doing more on my bike ).
Add to all this that she is full of fun, why would you not sign up

I attend Susie Black Pilates classes and find them most rewarding and enjoyable. Susie encourages us to push ourselves as much as we can to get the best results from the exercises, but at the same time tailors them to suit individuals who have various physical problems.
Susie has a lovely bubbly personality and is keen to pass on her knowledge and love of Pilates to us all.
I find everyone there very friendly and am happy to recommend Susie's Pilates classes to people of all ages.

Susie has been looking after our local keep fit class for many years which has been brilliant. My husband and I have also both been to Susie for personal fitness - me to try and get some exercises for my lower back which is weak and Simon for his general body (he tends to give it a very hard time cycling, running and walking! ). Susie is unfailingly good humoured, very professional the way she looks after you and I can't fault the dedication she brings (not so keen on the pain - but I am a wimp!!) - the fact that so many people round here, know and use her abilities goes to show how much Susie is looked up to. Susie came highly recommended. More than 2 years following a Total Hip Replacement I was still struggling. Through one-to-one sessions she guided me through a rehabilitation programme. Her knowledge, experience, support & understanding of what I was going through, were invaluable to me, enabling me to achieve a remarkable recovery. I returned to cycling & got back to my beloved hills. I am now 8 months following a Hip Op for my other hip. I still use a number of exercises Susie taught me & remember her advice as I progress with my rehabilitation. I'm already back on my bike & have completed a number of great hill days. More...

I started going to Pilates with Susie about 18 months ago and absolutely love it. She knows all of the people in the class and their individual difficulties or sore bits and adapts moves accordingly. My back can certainly tell if I've missed a week. The classes are small enough so you get the individual feedback needed to make progress and perfect the moves yet big enough so you feel part of a group. It's a great feeling when you manage to do a move you never thought was possible.
I couldn't recommend Susie Black enough. She's worked wonders for me.

We are a private group from Burrelton area and we started with Susie last October. A lot of the class had never done Pilates before and the rest had not done any for a long time. She started us off very gently and we were lulled into a false sense of security! Soon we were doing moves that we never thought possible and all felt the benefit from it. It was a fun class and we had a lot of laughs and banter. Susie loves what she does and that is reflected in the rapport she has with her pupils. She knows how to bring out the best in people even in a reluctant exerciser like me! We are busy with summer pursuits but our class will regroup with Susie in the autumn More...

I joined Suzie's class in October 2015 when my previous Pilates instructor moved away. As with all changes it took a little time to get used to Suzie's style of teaching and sense of humour but I am very glad I stuck with it!
Suzie teaches in blocks which focus on different areas of the body or use a different piece of equipment. This means you can never get bored as you're always learning something new and challenging your body in a new way. It can be tough but then fitness levels are not going to improve by doing the same old, same old.
The great thing about Suzie having all the experience she has from her other fitness teaching is that no injury throws her. I've been dealing with a shoulder problem for several months but it isn't an excuse to sit out a class. Suzie will always know an alternative to keep you moving and active in the class.
Highly recommend these classes to mobilise us all and keep us moving forward in fitness.

I started seeing Susie approximately 9 months ago after realising that I needed a 'kick up the proverbial' to get myself in order. I had turned into a Couch potato, I felt unhealthy and extremely unfit, I was missing out on so many activities with my sons because I didnt want to hold them back. I knew that it was make or break time.
Initially I booked a one hour 1-1 appointment with Susie to discuss health issues, expectations and to take measurements, weight etc.. Because of my lack of fitness my confidence had taken a hammering so I booked a further couple of 1-1 sessions so that I could try different exercise routines in a safe environment and this also enabled Susie to work out how I could best incorporate exercise into my daily life .. She gave me plans that included the things I enjoyed, plans that were devised for me personally and if i didnt enjoy something then it got changed.
9 months ago I believed that I would always hate exercise, the thought of walking a couple of miles filled me with dread but with Susie's help, support and encouragement to try different classes and activities I m finding my Mojo is back, I now do my yoga plan at home most days, attend a pilates class and in the last 10 days have walked 61 miles and by Friday evening I will have completed the Cateran Trail .. I still cant believe it!
Meeting Susie, listening to and taking her advice has changed and will continue to change my life, My kids are proud of me, Im sure Susie is proud of me but best of all .. Im proud of me!. I feel healthier, fitter and happier :) Thank you Susie B, I really do appreciate you and everything you have done to help me reclaim my health and fitness x

Excellent. Despite my disappearing between November and May, Susie has cheerfully re-engaged with my desire to improve my physical fitness. It is of particular note that the mixed ability exercise group is so enjoyable. I have previously undertaken various classes, from the high-pressure and raucous high-impact aerobics of the 1990s in London to a more mindful Pilates in Perth in the early 2000s. My confidence was at (almost) rock bottom when I began a few weeks ago, but a combination of good teaching and humour has improved this beyond personal recognition. Q&As

Taking the time to plan correctly has major benefits for me and my clients. I know their abilities and problem areas so I can push them harder sooner. I can anticipate when they're going to need that little extra help and intervene with a well timed text in between sessions. I can preempt the moment when we have to deal with a failure and ensure we get straight back on track. I can build a programme that will definitely test them but they will definitely manage, definitely enjoy and definitely continue. Long Term. That's more rewarding for us both.

Clients come to me to improve their health . If weight management is part of this we will plan and execute specific diet goals. The body of my dreams is the body that lets me achieve what I want, regardless of shape, weight or size.

I've been working in the fitness industry for almost 12 years now. I can't believe it's been this long, as with all good things in life it's just passed in a flash.

I love seeing transformations with clients and helping them maintain their dedication to their health.
I think because many of the people who come to me have specific rehabilitation or fitness goals to meet they are definitely the group most committed to change and usually the ones with the most to lose from not taking action.
Sometimes these clients will be working through pain and this can be worrisome, especially when niggling aches have led to much greater problems in the past.
What I see, when nobody else does, is that many people who start 1:1 with me will then join other group classes for long term maintenance. I think a lot of my classes may now be made up from people who have originally asked for help to deal with a specific injury or issue. I feel fortunate to have had a little one to one time with many of my class members. It certainly makes the teaching easier and more effective.

I wanted to take control over my client base and training pathway which I couldn't do with the local authority company I worked with.

I'm established, professional, qualified and experienced.
