Scarlet is a great person to do shoots with - headshots for work, formal and informal, family shots, pics of kids and dogs! Very good at miouwing to get the dogs attention ! We had a photo session with Sure Shot Pictures because I needed some pictures for my website and we wanted some family portraits, but wanted something a little different. I sent Scarlet some ideas of what I was looking for and she put her personal spin on my ideas. My husband and I don’t really like having our pictures taken but it was different with Scarlet but photography seems to come so naturally to her that it’s easy to relax and enjoy the session which comes out in the photos. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Making the subjects feel relaxed, as someone who hates having their photograph taken this is something I am particularly sensitive to.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
How many images do you need?
Will you need retouching?
Do you have visual references of what you are hoping to achieve?
What do you love most about your job?
I have been very fortunate to travel the world photographing people in the music business and celebrity world. I love photographing people predominately and with a studio closer to home I am able to work with small businesses and families in my locality.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have been photographing for over 20 years and have loved every minute of it. Every shoot is an adventure and I feel very lucky to have made a career out of my passion.
Why should our clients choose you?
Because I can offer 'difference' having photographed some of the most difficult celebrities over the years there is no challenge I am yet to meet. I have worked with rock stars, kids and animals but not all at the same time!
