I feel like I was truly understood and cared for here, and not just by the particular person I was there to see. I had the pleasure of working with Jen Deacon to help me recover from a recent tumble back into a period of depression and a total lack of confidence in myself or my own worth. My journey to self-acceptance has been rocky but I honestly feel like Jen was a crucial part of it. I have recently had the pleasure of sitting with Christian Dixon for a series of one to one sessions to help with a period of anxiety and panic attacks. I was nervous to begin with but Christian puts you immediately at ease and rather than feeling like a formal counselling meeting I found that it was more like chatting and confiding in a trusted friend. I felt the journey I went through in our sessions was gently guided by Christian but unwittingly driven by me rediscovering and developing a confidence in myself that had taken a tumble.I would highly recommend The AOC to anyone who needs any support however big or small and wouldn't hesitate to return for help if required in the future. What do you love most about your job?
I am a professional lead therapist with The AoC and have been a qualified therapist for over 22 years with a lot of experience but every day feels new and different, What I particularly love most about the job is the fact that although clients walk into our studios or receive telephone or video counselling and therapy support - with what may appear to be the same issue or difficulty, behind the similarities are unique individuals, and that is what I love most - working with the heart and soul of my being to help these truly amazing and diverse human beings recover or grow or transform into even better human beings.
What inspired you to start your own business?
We wanted to make a difference and found that there weren't many organisations offering what we do. We spent eighteen months before we even opened our doors to clients - just trying to work out what kind of service we would offer. It took a long time, but he haven't regretted one single day.
Why should our clients choose you?
We have been nominated twice now for Partner of The Year award and this year came in the top three out of ten possible organisations for our great service to others. We won our first award in 2016 for being innovative and creative. We think you should choose us because we don't have a long waiting list, so you can be assured that you or a loved one can receive counselling and therapy support quickly, and all our counsellors and therapists and qualified , registered and fully trained and best of all we go out of our way to make your visit or call meaningful and if you don't believe us - just go onto our website and read all our amazing testimonials and video reviews.
