What makes a great website?
Design is obviously an important element, BUT a great looking website that doesn't engage the visitor is a complete waste of time, effort and money!
Your website should immediately convey what you do, and how you can benefit the visitor if you're a service-based business,, or shout out why your products should be bought, and not from your competitor if you're a B2C business.
Did you know that your website is more likely to be viewed on a smart phone or a tablet? That's why a fast loading, mobile responsive website is a MUST.
If you have done your target market/super customer research, then your website should immediately hit your visitor right between the eyes and they say "Ohhh yes indeedy: I want to work with you/buy from you. Take my money now!"
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Tell me about your business?
What do you want your website to do?
Do you have your own content written?
Are you keeping your current logo and branding?
Do you have a domain name and do you own it?
Do you have website hosting?
How did you find me: referral or website search?
What do you love most about your job?
I have worked with some of the most amazing women in business. Creating their new website, and then hearing their delight when it's all done is a wonderful feeling. I'm very lucky that I get to do what I love every day: it doesn't feel like a job! I'm always in awe of the strength and resilience of my clients: juggling home life with running a business, sometimes without the support of a family network, or those "well-meaning" relatives who keep asking when are they going to get a proper job?! Sheesh. With family like that, who needs enemies?!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Being made redundant twice in a short space of time and halving my income. Having to take temporary jobs paying crap hourly rates - and, as PA to the boss - opening the invoices from the agency and seeing how much they were charging the business for me!!
I thought that there had to be a better way. I started off as a Virtual PA in 2010, and gradually found my niche offering both creative and techie expertise. Many VAs are purely admin or PA type services. My skills were in demand as lots of female coaches needed my type of support. However, I have gradually moved away from virtual assistance to concentrate on WordPress website design and Mailchimp e-marketing set up. Haven't looked back since!
Why should our clients choose you?
Friendly and really easy to work with.
Affordable: perfect for start-up businesses.
Only work with UK women in business - I "get" you!
Years of marketing background.
Attention to detail.
No jargon, no blinding you with science.
My websites are beautiful (so I've been told), but I will make sure your content is fabulous, the site is easy to navigate, it's mobile responsive, and showcases your business perfectly for visitors.
I have fantastic client feedback on my website.
An all round good Northern egg!
