We love Sunshine House in Oakley! My daughter has been going there for 1 year now. When she started she had a hard time separating from us but the teachers were so kind and understanding. They really helped her with the transition and now when I drop her off she is so happy to be there. Since attending Sunshine House, her speech and social skills have blossomed. She now knows all her colors, shapes, number, letters and more! She is always coming home with new songs and art work. We now have our 2nd kid at Sunshine House Oakley. We were so disappointed that we DID NOT start our first kid sooner (we enrolled her at four years old). We now have our two year old going to school here and we absolutely love it. We recently moved from Berkeley where our 2 and 5 year old attended a daycare since they were 6 months old so we've had experience with other large daycares. Both kids have been at the Sunshine House 2 for 2 1/2 months and we absolutely love this place! They've been in business for a long time and it shows. They work hard to create a safe environment and invest in quality teachers that genuinely care about the kids. I'm confident that when I leave my children there they are safe, cared for, having fun, and importantly learning new things about the world! I have a 2.5 year old daughter that's now been there for 6 months. We started with the one in Concord but moved to Brentwood and thank God there is a Sunshine house here too! (2 actually). The first time leaving your child at daycare is rough but they make it as easy as possible. Sending photos, updates and videos. Extra help with getting her to nap which is amazing. Her transition to there and then to Brentwood was way easier than I thought. She loves it, learns a ton and is talking up a storm! She sings a bunch of songs, is always excited to go and loves the teachers. I love it all and their "curriculum" for the ages is spot on. We are now potty training her and being able to have her in diaper and then their help with potty training is a game changer! I'm very thankful for the Martinez location and Brentwood. Our daughter started Sunshine house earlier this year and she absolutely loves this center. It's located in a great location downtown. Ever since our daughter was old enough to walk and talk she's always asked to attend here since it's somewhere we pass daily. They always have something fun going on for the kids and great structure for getting them ready for school. We are a busy family of 6 that struggles to get our 4 year old into extra curricular activities so it is so wonderful that tumble time bus and other programs like soccer are offered for a small fee through school. My son has been going to this location in downtown Brentwood since he was 2. He will soon be 5. The last 3 years he has learned so much, all the academic milestones you would expect. They do a wonderful job at teaching and taking time if necessary. But for our son the biggest accomplishment was how well his social skills have bloomed. He was once very shy and completely attached to me. He would cry when I left for a few months but now he gives me a quick hug and runs off with his friends. We like Sunshine House because teachers there are always caring, listening and friendly to the children. My son goes there for a year now, his speech was a little behind before he went to Sunshine House, but now he can barely talk and share what he learned at school. I highly recommend the Sunshine House 2! My family and I chose the SH2 because of the fun, yet scholastic environment they provide their students. My husband and I were looking to get my daughter in a preschool or daycare for socialization and heard from a neighbor that Sunshine House was the way to go. My neighbor was right! My daughter took to Sunshine House as soon as she stepped inside the door. All of the teachers and staff are extremely nice, caring, and understanding. We have been at Sunshine House for 4 short months...but already we are in love with this school and can't recommend it enough. From the monthly, weekly, and daily activities calendar; we know what our children are doing, the books they are reading and the topics they are covering. We can’t say enough good things about sunshine house. Our daughter has been there for over a year now and has excelled  in so many ways. She loves to come home and sing all of her circle time songs with her dolls. She looks forward to going to school and gets excited every time she sees the sunshine sign, even when it’s not a school day. All the teachers are wonderful and know how to make a child feel welcome. Sunshine house has been the most rewarding experience for my son. He joined when he was 3 and over the last 2 years he has been able to learn in a structured environment while still having fun. We were forced to find a new preschool for him at such a young age and I was so worried he would not adjust to the change. From day 1 the teachers worked with him and really brought him out of his shell. He started understanding “school” and would amaze us with his stories of school that day. Every teacher rotates wit. The different classes and I think it helps so much for the kids to learn other teaching styles and get to know all the teachers. On the verge of entering kindergarten and I know without a doubt he is ready and has been prepared for the changes ahead. My son has a bond with every teacher and I feel that’s important. The weekly themes, monthly events and family activities make being a part of this school so rewarding. I am going to miss dropping him off every day. Sunshine House has been not just a daycare to our family, but more so a second home to all three of my children for the last six years. I can honestly say that the staff goes above and beyond in the way that they care for and teach all children, their passion for working with children really shows in the way their children excel. Everyone, from the Director Ms. Cani and Assistant Director Ms. Mary and the wonderful teachers are beyond AMAZING! Two of my girls are now in elementary school and they love this school so much they get so excited to come in and share all the things they have accomplished. I feel an obligation to share my personal experience with the public to basically help moms and dads who are looking for a safe and loving environment for their preschool aged kiddos/children to learn. I am very picky with entrusting my children with anyone... go figure, it doesn't come easy to me; they must meet my 'unreasonable high standards' and Sunshine House Loma Vista meets my very high standards.Every single teacher at this Location is so pleasant, so easy to talk to and collaborate with, very attentive to details concerning the kids, and you can tell they truly enjoy being there and what they do. They are very organized and resourceful also.Curriculum is stellar, designed to develop the child all round. Focusing on handwriting, the alphabets, numbers, phonics, arts and different science projects.My son attends 4 days per week for 7 hours and in all honesty coming here is like a second home for him. He learns a ton, he's made life long friends, and he loves their nicely equipped playground. Location is also within a short distance to the Street of Brentwood, Home Goods..., so every now and then I like to squeeze in a little Retail Therapy, when time permits . We absolutely love Sunshine House. We feel that our kids are safe, well cared for, making great friends, and LEARNING a lot. The teachers are also amazing and have longevity at the school. This was our first day care experience for our 2yo and she loves going. She now sings full songs and knows her ABCs. She is already asking what letters and numbers are and she is not even 3 yet. Our almost 5 yr old is 100% ready for kindergarten not just from what he learned at Sunshine House, but because of the way the school taught him to sit in group, listen to the teachers, etc. We will be sad that he is leaving Sunshine but happy we get two more years with your youngest at this school. We chose Sunshine House initially because their hours complemented our work schedules. But we are SO glad we did! It has been a wonderful place for my son and he has flourished and learned so much there. He is headed to Kindergarten and he is more than prepared. Our favorite things about Sunshine House are the warm and wonderful teachers and their smiles. My two kids are going to sunshine house. We loved to see how they enjoy their time at the school and sometimes even saying they want to stay longer when we picked them up. This year our son is graduating and starting TK in August. At sunshine house, he has learn so many academic lessons in the past 2.5 years, but the most important lesson that he has learned is patience, respect, compassion, sharing and caring for others. He shows all these great skills at other places like at parks with other kids, with family members and with his little sister. My son has been with Sunshine House 2 since Jan of 2017. He has grown tremendously as a student and individual. The school suited his personality very well with all the wonderful teacher's support, care and love. The teachers at SSH2 are a gem. They love all of the kids and take really good care of them. I have two children in the program here and they have grown and learned so much, my youngest is a handful and he has gained so much independence and is blooming into such a bright child because of his teachers (which he calls his best friend), my oldest son who is currently in their tk program has learned two read and write his name, he can recognize all of his letters in his alphabet. All of the teachers great me by my name and any time there has been a issue involving my children I am always properly notified, the staff is so loving and compassionate and you can tell that they all love what they do and actually are there to put your children first. My daughter has been going to Sunshine House for 2 years now and she absolutely loves it! She used to be in an In-Home Daycare with a few other children since she was 3 months old. When the Daycare closed I was in a panic! I heard about Sunshine House from a close friend of mine who used to send her kids there when they were younger. I made an appointment to visit Sunshine House on Chestnut and I immediately felt right at home. The teachers are all very kind and truly love these kids. It put my mind at ease to know that I knew my daughter would be safe and in the best care while I was working. My daughter loves going to school every day and I look forward to hearing all about her day and the fun projects she does. She especially loves doing arts and crafts! My daughter has been attending Sunshine House for the past 2.5 years and I have not once regretted my decision. I can not say enough great things about them. The teachers are amazing! They have a very tough job yet they always seem patient, calm and caring towards the children. The teachers seem to genuinely care for the students and my daughter loves each one of them for different reasons. Not only are the teachers exceptional but their curriculum is comprehensive and age appropriate. Our son started at Sunshine House when he was 2 and a half. He is now getting ready to start Kindergarten and we couldn’t recommend this preschool enough. There are so many opportunities for him learn and play and he frequently comes home with the arts and crafts he has been working on, or telling us about science experiments, taste tests or exciting visits from different members of the community he has enjoyed that day. Our son particularly enjoys playing outside in the sandbox and exploring the many activities offered outdoors. He really thrives in the atmosphere at Sunshine House which allows him the freedom to choose the activities he wishes to participate in, but also includes more structured learning times with his peers. His teachers are kind and nurturing and are wonderful about communicating with us as parents. Sunshine House Oakley is awesome! Both my daughter and son have attended this pre-school. I believe the best way to tell how your child is doing in his or her school is to pay attention to his/her mood when you pick them up at the end of the day. Our 2yr old is always in high spirits and when I ask him how his day was, it's always a thumbs up!Their communication with parents is also excellent. My son has attended Sunshine House since he was 2 and he’ll be off to Kinder soon! He has grown so much over the years and we are so grateful that Sunshine House helped with some of his big milestones – from potty training to counting and letter recognition. . he has truly thrived. We chose Sunshine House because of the play based structure as we believe in learning through play while still having some structure and consistency. All of the teachers have been so great, there are new teachers that weren’t there when he first started but my son has always felt comfortable with all of them. Whenever we had any concerns, my husband and I were comfortable talking to the teachers and they always supported us and had great suggestions/solutions so we never felt overlooked. I personally appreciate the text messages we get if he had a hard drop off or just because! I find myself constantly checking Facebook or Instagram to see photos and it really brings this mom comfort that he’s doing just fine :). I absolutely love Sunshine House 2!! My child has been attending here for about 5 months now. The teachers here are nice and genuinely interested in knowing your child! My son has a speech delay, and they are constantly helping him improve his speech skills & independence! Every week they are partaking in new activities that has to do with the letter of the week (potlucks, meeting firefighters & police officers, or crazy sock day). I would highly recommend Sunshine House! We currently have both of our daughters attending Sunshine House and could not be happier with our experience thus far. We love the teachers, facility, and the curriculum/activities that our girls participate in. The teachers are really in tune with the kids and get to know the whole family. We appreciate their great communication. We know our daughters love the teachers too as evidenced by the way they pretend to be them at home! We joined sunshine house about 1 year ago when my son turned 2, and our experience at this adorable school has been nothing but wonderful! The teachers are all great, attentive, professional and have been so incredibly patient with my son. He has grown so much since going to sunshine house. His speach is soaring, he is learning how to play in groups, share and communicate with his friends at sunshine house in a positive way. My daughter started at Sunshine House when she entered Kindergarten 6 years ago. Mrs. Keri, Ms. Danielle and the rest of the staff were instrumental during her transition from pre-school to elementary school. They gave her all the love and support she needed.
