Suite 52 Living - Portico For Home & Garden

Portico is a beautiful store in McHenry Village, although they changed their name to Suite 52 Living after their recent move. I love to browse this store a few times a year. Their displays are amazing and they always capture the spirit of whatever time of year it is. They have everything from large furniture items down to cute little gifts.The ladies that run the store are always friendly and know a lot about design and home decor and their selection backs it up!I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this store to anyone who is redecorating their home or is looking for a special gift. I love just walking through Portico. I get so many ideas that I can then adapt to my own home. It's a great place to pick up a special gift and I appreciate that they offer all price points, from simple jewelry to one another of a kind furniture pieces. Customer service is great!

I have driven by this store numerous times whenever I am in McHenry Village.  So today I decided to have a "visit shops I've never been to but have always wanted to" kind of day. The entrance to Portico is located in between two buildings so you really have to be looking for it.  It is a really good size store.  They have some really cute and pretty things for your home and garden.  They also offer design services and wedding registry.  One of the sales clerks was really friendly and did not follow me the whole time I was in the store.  Another employee just stared at me as I neared the register.  I wanted to ask her if I could help her with something (staring problem perhaps?) but I just smiled sweetly and kept on browsing.  She finally relaxed and smiled in return.  It pays to be friendly!  If I was in the market for some home decor I would keep Portico in mind. ;) More...
