I never write reviews but had to share my experience with Sugar + Spice Photography. We were long overdue for family photos but I was having a hard time finding a photographer that could capture us in a natural, unforced, casual, loving way. During my initial conversation with Laura, I explained I didn't want the traditional family photos but a more offbeat look that captured who we really were as a family. Laura was receptive, easy-going, and (I quickly realized) crazy competent. And that was just the beginning. My entire family was relaxed during the shoot - including my camera shy husband (read that as hates having his picture taken) and rambunctious kids. Did I mention we also had my two-week old newborn in the mix? Needless to say, we were blown away by the photos. I shared them with friends and each came back with "how will you choose?!" Laura has been our family photographer for the past 5 years. Our relationship started with my sons baby pics and has transpired into a professional friendship as well. I look forward to seeing what new ideas she has each time we go for a session and anxiously await the proofs which never disappoint. Somehow she gets beautiful shots EVEN when you think your little ones weren't being the easiest clients. We just wanted to take the time to share with anyone reading this how amazing Laura is as a photographer. We have a young family that is high energy and all over the place. ..so the fear is that you spend the money and time for a photo session...and end up with nothing. The pictures that are hanging on our walls are stunning, reflect the character of our kids, don't look overly "posed", and make us happy every day.
