Sue photographed our small intimate wedding ceremony on the 28th and the photos far exceed my expectations mainly because I could never imagine seeing images so amazing involving me ha! They look like the images you google and try to replicate with a photographer but somehow they never are able to get the amazing shot.... sue was able to do this and thanks to her amazing skills and understanding exactly what we wanted and liked we have photos to treasure forever! images are priceless to me but when we live on a tight budget it makes it harder to ensure we could have such special images, again thanks to sue and her flexibility and kindness we managed to work something out that ment we didnt have to sacrifice on precious memories being preserved in images for the lack of money. Being photographers ourselves, we knew it would be very hard to find somebody who would meet our extremely high standards (and we did a LOT of research, with Sue ending up at the top of our list). However, Sue did just that through her amazing creativity and beautiful imagination. Sue isn't afraid to try new things and has a great eye for detail. She ended up capturing some lovely experimental shots, that took us by surprise and turned out better than we could have ever imagined. We were very fortunate that Sue is into taking the natural, candid shots too, as that's what we were really looking for in our wedding photographer. These style of shots, turned out so well and captured the true essence of the day. Sue is a great communicator (especially as we had to organise everything from overseas as we live in Australia). What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
My secret to taking a great photo is a combination of a creative eye, technical aptitude, full of ideas & a friendly, relaxed way with people - being super-motivated and totally committed to photography, helps too.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
My 'would help to know' questions would be:
• Tell me all about your project, your aspirations and your aims?
• Tell me a little more about you, your business or your family (depending on your photo subject matter)?
• What style, vision & vibe do you have in mind & what are you most hoping to capture during our time together?
• When would you like to shoot your project?
• Do you have a specific location or type of location in mind for your session? Do you want suggestions for a location?
• Are there any other details you feel would be helpful to know before our session?
• How many photos do you ideally need?
What do you love most about your job?
I'm a wedding photographer as well as a commercial photographer - my specialities are honed & crafted - truth of the matter is I never want to miss out on capturing any aspect of our extraordinary lives and recording our memories - every photo is unique, the feels, the vibes & nostalgic qualities? Also, I'm a huge fan of boosting self-esteem and by defying the odds and proving to people that there is no such thing as being un-photogenic - not when I'm behind the lens!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I previously owned and managed a successful holiday home agency and have returned (full-time & exclusively) with immense excitement to what I trained in and the love of my life 'photography'. My years in the holiday home industry enabled me to truly understand the persuasive influence photography plays in business. I've also discovered I love to photograph love - weddings & engagement brimming over with love - it's infectious, electrifying, inspiring and so heart-warming.
