I did a Brand Review Intensive with Kate as I felt I could do with some guidance. I had read about a few theories and steps to take me through identifying my brand but they didn’t really feel aligned with my way of working. Kate was able to explain those concepts in a way I finally understood and felt motivated to work with. She could speak my language and use her intuition, which made it a whole lot easier for me to connect with her and what she had to offer me. Our family really enjoyed our photoshoot with Kate. It was relaxed and informal, which made it easier with a 10 month old and a 3 year old! Kate was great with the children and showed so much patience with getting their pictures, even though they weren't looking for 99% of the time! The communication both before and after has been excellent, and we never felt like anything was too much trouble for Kate. What makes a great website?
A great website is clear, clean, beautiful, and allows your customers to get where they want to go easily and quickly. It also effortlessly directs those who are unsure of what they're looking for.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I'll really want to get to know all about your business and your customers. It's important to me that you're happy with your website and that it helps your business grow. I'll have all sorts of questions about your products/services and the type of content you'd like to add or update.
What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
There is no secret ingredient. Just photographing what you love. When you love what you do, it shows.
Describe your creative process.
First, we meet (either in person or via Skype/Messenger) to discuss your requirements and I get to know who you are and what's most important to you and your business. Then we plan how the site is going to flow and we discuss what kind of information you'll need to have on your site. After planning, I roll up my sleeves and get to work, implementing everything we've discussed and putting it into a clear and easy-to-use website. Once you're happy with your site, we move on to testing. We leave no stone unturned and make sure that your site works great on tablets, phones, PCs, and laptops. Once we're happy with the whole site and that everything is in place, your site then goes live!
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
I would need a basic understanding of what you're looking for, whether it's for photography, branding or web design. I would love to know what timeline you're looking for and what you're looking to spend. I will ask lots of questions as I get to know more too!
What do you love most about your job?
Helping others create a professional and beautiful look for their business, whether it's starting from scratch or getting a fresh, new look. I love knowing that I was able to contribute to someone else's success.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have a lot of experience in buying and product development. I've always loved working with others to develop and design products. I have a degree in Advertising and MIS (Management Information Systems) and wanted to incorporate that with my experience into something more creative. I love building websites and helping people showcase their business. I also have a passion for product photography and logo design. I want to make great design, photography and branding available to everyone.
Why should our clients choose you?
I may be a freelancer, but I'm mighty, determined, creative and passionate about what I do. I only take on a small number of jobs at a time, so that I can offer the personal attention and care that my customers deserve. This also allows me to turn around websites quickly.
Web Design
I offer web design to individuals and small businesses who want a professional look without paying agency prices. I offer simple sites using basic templates, or more in depth design using Wordpress. I also offer Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) set-up, blog and portfolio set-up, newsletter and mailing list set-up, email set-up, plug-in set-up, Google Analytics set-up, and many more. With every websites comes a free 3 month service plan for any issues that may arise and all my sites are fully responsive (work well on all tablets, phones, PCs and laptops). Once your site is live and your 3 month included service plan has expired, I also the option to carry on with an extended back-up plan to ensure your site is updated and backed-up on a monthly basis.
