This is what a gym should be. More or less, a commercial gym feels like they just want to do just enough to keep you paying your membership fees. A big box gym doesn't want you to actually come in and use the equipment often, otherwise they wouldn't be able to have as many members as they do. How many times have you felt that uninspiring environment, where everything feels like a chore, and everyone looks like they just want to do their penance and get out?Structure is a totally different experience. There's an air of mutual support, friendliness, and respect without it feeling forced or faked. Everyone is welcome. You can strike up a conversation with anyone and become fast friends, or you can do your own thing and just focus on your workout zen-like. You won't be judged either way and whichever you prefer you'll feel like you're part of a community of people doing their best to strengthen their bodies, build their confidence, and push their limits - not just another body fighting over the equipment. I've been training here for almost a year now, starting from scratch. It's one of those places that is so good you almost don't want people finding out about it (almost). I train in the mornings, 5 or 6 days a week now between 6am and 8am, and I can tell you the following:- I can count on one hand the number of times there hasn't been a rack free. If you're sick of having to wait for a bench or a rack, that won't be a problem here (in the mornings anyway, I can't speak for the evening crowd). How many hours have you wasted waiting out for racks and is it really worth the difference in price?- I can count on my other hand the number of times I've been unable to superset something because of lack of equipment or it being too busy. You come workout here in the mornings at least, you can superset whatever you like. Go crazy. Deadlift on the platform, do tricep dips on a rack, then smash out some cable crunches, then have a long rest without worrying. How much extra a month is it worth saving to be stuck doing half the workout you could be doing in the same time because you have to sit and guard your equipment like a doberman or be racing up and down the gym looking like a meerkat just incase someone steals your bench between sets?- You can drop your weights after a big olympic lift without having to write a six-page essay explaining why dropping your weights to the ground after a heavy clean and jerk is necessary. If you know, you know.- Structure invests in you. You come in, work hard, you'll see the same people every day and will get respect, advice (if you want it), and encouragement. Lee is the nicest guy who clearly loves what he does. Feeling uncomfortable because you don't know anyone there? Ask and you'll be introduced to the regulars. Not sure where to start? Ask and you'll get something tailored to you, nothing cookie-cutter. Worried about injury or doing something incorrectly? You'll always have at least one trainer with years of experience keeping an eye on everything in the room. Worried you won't fit in? I guarantee at least one of us has a similar story to you.- I hate that I need to point this out because it seems so common sense but obviously isn't at some gyms: Structure knows that strength training is for everyone. This isn't just twenty-something guys rotating in and out doing bench presses all day. It doesn't matter who you are, how old or young you are, how bad your knees are (mine are pretty bad), what your goals are, you can benefit from strength training. Hang around even for a short while and you'll see that in practice. If you're still not convinced bring a fiver for a day pass one morning at 6am. Or just come chat to us and look around. I'll be there because I love being there. It's how a gym should be: it's never a chore, it's a pleasure. More...

I've been a member of a number gyms in different countries and counties, but this beats the lot in terms of the quality and quantity of advice and support given. Always a good selection of tunes on the sound system too! More...
