HIGHLY recommend Lois and her staff! My now-husband and I visited her cafe for a wedding cake testing and were blown away not just by the yumminess of her cakes, but by the kindness and patience of her and her staff. She helped us select which flavors to have for each tier of our cake and which flavors to have as sheet cake (which I highly recommend as a cost- and time-saving alternative). She also offered very useful tips in designing the cake (olive leaves as opposed to eucalyptus) and choosing filling types that complement the flavor of the cake. On the day of our wedding, she hand-delivered the cake herself and beautifully finished up with decorations and our cake topper. Lois's Stone House Cakery and Cafe was the first location we went to for cake tasting and the last. We were so impressed that after visiting we didn't even consider looking at others. Lois truly loves designing and providing the best wedding cakes and her passion comes through in her quality of work. Simply put, she's hands-down the BEST wedding cake caterer. Book her, you won't regret it! (Also highly recommend you try the Lavender Earl Gray cake...truly most unique and delicious cake flavor I've ever had. I did not get any food, although it all looked amazing. I stopped in looking for a flavor of Hershey's ice cream and they didn't have it. But the customer service was amazing! I bought my daughter a cake from
Walmart for her baptism. On the day I received it, it collapsed. My wife was devastated. We had less than 24 hours until her baptism to find a replacement . My wife called Stonehouse Cakery on a Friday during wedding season. They could tell she was upset and promised her a cake by 5 pm. We had no idea what we would get, let me tell you, it was beyond perfect. My daughters name is Magnolia and they made beautiful magnolia flowers that cascades down the side of a sparkling white cake. Stopping in for a quick lunch before driving home. Found the Stone House Bakery and WOW, small place with top notch food. We had a clam chowder soup and an Italian Wedding soup to start, then a Little Joey and a chicken salad sandwich . Both were excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. Outstanding cupcakes!! Can’t believe I didn’t stop in sooner, I’ve been missing out for too long! I bought 8 different cupcake flavors to take home and decide on for my son’s first birthday party. Joe was really friendly and super helpful with all of my questions about custom ordering, pricing, and such. I also had lunch while there and it was delicious, I love the homemade bread!! I cannot say enough great things about Lois and the whole team at Stone House Cakery! My husband and I had our wedding cake and assorted cupcakes made here and they were absolutely delicious! ! Lois met with us ahead of time and was extremely accommodating! We tasted several flavors and decided upon a strawberry shortcake for the wedding cake and then we had cupcakes: lemon, almond raspberry, chocolate peanut butter, carrott, and salted caramel and every single cupcake was happily scooped up by our guests!

Look, all I have had is the fabulous cupcakes and the chocolate chip cookies. All I can say is that the cupcakes are the best I have ever eaten. The icing, which I usually detest on most cakes and cupcakes, is awesome, not overly sweet and light. I love It! My personal favorites are the Death by Chocolate cupcakes but I like all the cupcakes Stone House makes as does my wife. So glad they are not too far away. More...

Can you do more than 5 starts? Three words A. MA. ZING. I had their cupcakes at the Turf Valley Bridal Show but failed to get their card so was OVERJOYED to see them and their fabulous display in Sykesville this weekend. I brought them to work and EVERYONE was WOWED!!! Seriously delicious cupcakes.

My wife and I ordered our wedding cake from here, and it was amazing! My wife's best friend got her wedding cake from Stone House, and there was actually a physical altercation over who was able to take home a piece. If a fight broke out over cake, we knew we had to investigate.

We were invited to have a tasting before we ordered our cake, and the owner made us nearly a dozen combinations of cake flavors and icings to choose from. The hardest part was narrowing down which flavors we wanted. Luckily, we were able to make each tier a different flavor. The price was very reasonable, and the cake was beautiful and delicious. At many weddings, the cake is just a mediocre event on the timeline that people could do with or without. However, if you order from here, everyone will be asking where you got it from! Our wedding was in Bel Air, and the staff was more than accommodating to get our cake delivered on time.

I'm actually writing this review on our 1st Anniversary. We just defrosted the slice that we saved, and it was still delicious! Thank you! More...
