We opted for an elopement package with the villa that included overnight stay, photos, dinner, flowers, cake, etc and the amount of detail that Michael and Mark planned for us blew us away. We were the first wedding planned at the property for 2019 and even early in the season the gardens were beautifully appointed and the grounds were well kept. Mark was an exceptionally thoughtful, accommodating, and generous host. He provided us with lots of information about the property and the island, and he moved in the background throughout our visit doing nice things like lighting the fire for us during the day when it was rainy, and turning on the heated floors so it would be warm when we returned. There were so many other small, kind things as well that made the stay comfortable and memorable. The meal provided by chef Jonathan Ducquette was absolutely thrilling. We opted for a surprise menu, and our small party was treated to 6 passionately crafted courses that were both classic and imaginative, with an emphasis on local and seasonal ingredients. Overall our visit to Stonehearst was absolutely magical. All of Michael and Mark’s work made the day of our wedding so relaxed and carefree, and we were able to just focus on each other and bask in the experience. We really could not have asked for more, and would absolutely recommend a wedding or elopement at Stonehearst to anybody.Do not hesitate! You will be in great hands with property owner, Mark, and coordinator, Michael taking care of you. More...

Let me start with this: Mark (the owner and builder of the Stone Hearst) is a great guy, one that goes out of his way to solve your problem. He may be hard to reach at times but eventually takes care of everything. My friend at the wedding asked Mark to take a picture of him and his girlfriend, Mark said the best angle is from the top of the building overlooking the garden. Next thing he was on top of the roof taking photos. Throughout the planning process he was flexible and accommodated our needs. For example, he bought extra dishes when we exceeded our initial head counts estimate (reaching 140 guests).About the venue itself, it was easy to pick for us, we fell in love with the Stone Hearst at the first sight. It was logistically complicated to have the wedding on the island and bring catering and bar from the mainland, but we really wanted to have our wedding there. This building and garden are Mark's pet project and are not designed to be a completely formal wedding venue (e.g. pointy high heels are not suitable). The outdoor space is magical and just perfect for anyone who likes an event in the nature with flowers, rocks, and ups and downs in a home-like setting. The venue can serve as a perfect pre-wedding-photographing location. The house is pretty but too small to count on for a large event, but it can accommodate the hosting families for the night. It may be a tricky to tent large areas if plan for a big party in a rainy season, but it is practical to have multiple smaller tents.Overall, we are very happy that we shared our wedding experience with Mark and would highly recommend the Stone Hearst. We are still enjoying its beauty in our wedding photos and movies! More...
