They pulled up my floor boards up stairs then said I needed to pay an extra £500 + to complete job as more wrk ! !!and handed me a PERSON on their phone to make a payment to ??? Who gave me his bank details 😱😱😱
Said could pay end of month when I got paid !

Should of got police involved as obviously rouges !
They went into liquidation so not sure why they are on here still ,
They rang me recently to service my boiler ,
They don’t need to as long as you get a gas safe person to do so , None of their wrk is covered in the small print !! Only the boiler through Worcester the manufacturers

Been on the phone to stl heating for 32 minutes, no answer. So disappointed with this company I have had no heating for two days, this equipment was inspected February 2019. We have had the unit since 2017

If you are happy to add to your daily stress and woes I suggest you buy something from this dreadful company. They will not disappoint. Read all the other reviews and avoid them like the plague. We also suffered empty promises,being lied to, faulty thermostats and controllers fitted. This company couldn't give a monkeys' for their customers . I'm convinced that they hold us in complete disregard and do not need to think twice about telling blatant lies promising their engineers will turn up on a particular time or day. In addition, trying to contact them is a nightmare.
Empty promises really annoy me = STL think nothing of making them knowing damn well they won't turn up. I'd sooner them be honest even if it meant delays. The sad thing is that the boiler they sell ( Intergas) is regarded throughout the trade as a cracking bit of kit but for God's sake do not buy it from STL Heating & Energy

I am wrighting a review on the poor after service last month I found a slight leek on my boiler to call them out I had to pay £80. 80 before they would come out when they came out the fitter said it was there fault then when I inspected the work after about an hour it was still peeking then after four days they came out and fixed it but then they wait it was are fault and had to pay the call out fee after a few calls to the company they said that had a word with the first fitter and said they would refund are money very strest as I'm a pensioner and my wifes disabled didn't need all this More...

Worst company I have ever had services from. Had old boiler replaced with new one, tank and old pipes removed. Now more than half of the heating system is dead. Don’t normally leave reviews but after being asked by STL I had to acknowledge them. Excellent service. The process from sales to install was smooth and seamless. I had to rearrange an appointment but that’s wasn’t an issue and they happily accommodated us. Would highly recommend. Great service and a good price considering they’re a large company. THANK YOU STL. You saved me a lot of hassle boiler packed in just before the beast from the east hit and we were left stranded. Got a call from STL offering a free no obligation quote so we thought why not. Sales guy was great, not pushy very informative. None of this old school sales pressure tactics. We accepted a quote and that week we had an install date.! Boiler has been working 1 week now and it’s great. Lovely and warm. The after-care has been horrendous. We have spent the past fortnight calling and emailing STL to report a burst booster pump caused by a faulty installation that failed to meet water regulations. The burst resulted in water pouring through the ceiling and causing decorative damage.

We have a written report including pictures by a Gas Safe-registered plumber as evidence. But STL repeatedly tells us that the installation manager will call us back or return our emails. After two weeks, still no joy.

We've also had problems with the fitting of a valve that has caused a leak and decorative damage.

I notice that many STL customers share my dissatisfaction with the after-care service, and have found, like us, that the 24/7 helpline rarely picks up. I really wish I had not used STL and would never recommend them to others.

Can't fault them. Sales pitch was good, all sounded great on paper but have to say I cant fault the Installation either. The two guys who turned up were excellent and fitted our new boiler with no fuss. Love our new boiler and smart thermostat. I can now control the heating on my phone... Would recommend no issues. Excellent teamwork. Everything was fully explained by the STL Representative on the initial visit. There was no hard-sell and there have been no nasty surprises in the finances. The engineer/fitter worked quickly and cleanly. We actually have to use our new efficient boiler with the associated flushed-out radiators less frequently than the old system. The heat is instant.
We are more than satisfied with the products and service provided by STL Heating & Energy and would not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends.

After a friend got stung by a man in a van I decided to look at larger companies when I needed my new boiler fitted. Found STL and can't complain. Excellent service from beginning to end. Works carried out exactly as detailed. The engineer, was helpful, friendly and efficient, explaining everything. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend STL to anyone. They were not the most expensive and not the cheapest but they offered me exactly what I wanted, in a budget I wanted and backed by a large company rather than a man in a van. Winner! More...

Great service from a fantastic company. Thank you STL, I can't complain with any aspect of my experience. I read a few bad reviews on here but on the whole, most were positive and it seems that on the odd occasion when something went wrong STL seemed happy/quick to respond and rectify so I proceeded with them and was not disappointed. The issue is they clearly do not have the national coverage they claim to have. Throughout the process, we haven't had anything other than poor service.

The salesman:
Courteous, listened and ticked all the boxes and paid for every single extra he spoke about and committed on the day- BIG MISTAKE!

Installation:
Was cancelled on the day, due to staff issues.

2 days later, we had one gas engineer attend to install the boiler over a 2 day period (as opposed to the two engineers over 1 day we were quoted) and whilst he did an AMAZING job and was wonderful, there was no electrician and the thermostat couldn't be fitted.

3 days running, I was told someone would come and nobody did! On the fourth day after getting through to one of the Directors, someone managed to attend and fit the thermostat so I was paying for a boiler to heat everything without any temperature settings or regulation.

After 7 working days out of my office and allocated as annual leave (to which they only attended on 3 out of the 7 days), we thought we had everything sorted - but obviously not!

The thermostat is clearly faulty and has a mind of its own, it switches itself on and off, won't turn on or temp adjusts when needed etc. along with the mobile app which is useless, I'm at a loss with no ability to control the boiler outside of manually switching it on or off.

I have have been chasing them 9 months to sort the issue and to make matters worse the electrician hasn't connected the earth cables back to the gas box! The Customer Support has meant to have sent someone on two separate occasions to which nobody has shown and I've lost two further days from work.

For the additional few hundred, you pay with BritishGas- don't use STLHeating!

The engineer who called was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He completed a survey of the current system and made some really helpful suggestions. I was impressed as he didn't try and get me to change the boiler for a different, more expensive system, but suggested the system I had was good and a new boiler was all that was required. I am a bit of a dunce when it comes to heating systems, just knew I wanted go keep the hot water tank, he understood and explained the different systems't available. He didn't rush me and was very patient! He provided a quote, which was very competitive and went through the payment options. There was no pressure to proceed at all, which was nice when someone comes to your home. I would have no hesitation in recommending STL for their professionalism and knowledge. More...

We were specific on the installation date with STL as we needed to book time off work. Within 24 hours we were receiving calls, emails and text messages to ask if the install could be brought forward. This constant request to change installation dates was repeated several times until we eventually reached our desired (and agreed) date.

Given the amount of time that STL had to prepare for our install you would expect that they would have all of the equipment necessary. No! Wrong radiator, missing parts and hadn't even ordered the brickwork.

The engineer was top class but apologised on behalf of STL advising us that it was at least a 2 day job (we were promised same day). To allow the engineer to carry on with the work I agreed to collect the missing parts for him from the 2 suppliers.

Unfortunately this turned out to be a farce as upon arrival at my first destination the supplier was unaware of any order from STL. Eventually this was sorted out so just to make sure that we wouldn't have any other problems I spoke to the 2nd supplier before making the 12 mile journey. As expected, no order from STL, at which point I gave up with helping.

The engineer was great and did a good job but was sadly let down by the STL head office. We complained about this at the time but the office was more concerned about whether the fitter used dust sheets (That was the least of our problems). We also completed the service questionnaire and raised the same concerns. Waste of time as nobody has even bothered to call us.

Oh, and the radiator that was fitted doesn't work and there advice was to turn it off and then on again!

Dreadful company - avoid. They promised they would take away the old tanks when they installed a new boiler - not done. Left the site a mess, mortar all over the floor. Pipes that were supposed to be capped off out of site were left in prominent positions. Damaged the lighting circuit - tried to wriggle out of being responsible for it, leaving me without lights in some rooms for over a week. Left rubbish on site and damaged a stud wall. I have photos of all of the mess and damage that they left. Have tried repeatedly to get them to come out and sort the problems out but the person I need to speak to is never there and never calls back !! Wouldn't touch this company ever again. More...
