My granddaughter's wedding reception was held here on December 7th 2019..The whole place was decorated beautifully,all the staff were excellent in serving canapés, filling and refilling your glasses with wine or a soft drink. The food on offer was also excellent,and served efficiently by the waiting staff, nothing was too much trouble for them.After dinner the barn was cleared for dancing, leaving plenty of seating for us oldies, having said that there is plenty of seating away from the band in quiter areas within the barn complex.All in all a fabulous venue for wedding receptions.While on the subject of the reception,I would like to thank all that attended the event,and more thankful to all that funded it.Highly recommended, thank you all for a wonderful day. We hired Stick it On for our wedding in Brighton having been to their parties years before. It was the best decision that we made as the evening reception was so much fun and all of our guests absolutely loved it. Rob was brilliant fun on the day and organised all of our dj‘s brilliantly even though we were running late and he and Ysobel did an excellent job of organising everything in advance. We really do feel that our evening reception would not have been so much fun had we not have got Stick it On involved. It was the best night and we would highly recommend them for any party! The venue is incredibly beautiful, we got married outside in the gardens and they are so well kept and idyllic. The guests all commented on how amazing (and plentiful! ) the food was but it’s really the service that makes this venue so special. Gill, Michael, Krysia and Nicky were there from our first venue viewing until we collected our belongings the day after the wedding and the level of service was flawless. Nothing is too much trouble and even when things run slightly off plan the staff are so calm and reassuring. I wish I could give a higher star rating than 5 stars! We had stick it on at our wedding and it was the most fun! Lots of our guests commented on how great it was getting involved and DJ-ing their favourite songs. It encouraged people to get up dancing and meant we could have the music everyone wanted to listen to and not the normal wedding DJ music. Pangdean barn and the staff were fantastic from the initial viewing, planning, through to the wedding itself. We had rain forecast for our day but after the ceremony the sun came out for us to go into the garden and they quickly responded to this change of plan! The food was outstanding and accommodated for all dietary requirements. They were even on hand for emergencies including sewing up the grooms suit jacket that ripped 10 mins into the day! These guys are the business when it comes to your wedding! Initially, this venue was my "least favorite" option because it's near the A23, however upon visiting the place and meeting the highly professional and competent team, we were sold and booked it. We chose it because of recommendations, the flexibility of the venue, the very clean and nice toilets and of course because the team were so impressive.On the day, they were amazing - we didn't know if it was going to rain and the team were completely prepared for both scenarios - in the end, what with weather warnings of high winds, we had to vote for indoors. The venue was brilliant.Food - excellent excellent -would recommend a tasting session though with what you have chosen so you can check - it's a fun experience - we also took our best men with us - it was lovely lunch - we also made a tweak to the veggie option, so pleased we did that. Recently had my wedding here and cannot recommend highly enough. The venue itself is absolutely stunning but what really makes it is the team behind it. Everyone we came into contact with in the lead up to and on the day were friendly, attentive and extremely well organised. What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
With a 'Stick It On' party, it's really easy. When you have the guests taking control of the party with three of their favourite songs there is a lovely connection between the DJ and the dance floor. Invariably, each DJ will have a little support group of friends and family who will be there dancing and showing their support. This, in turn, is infectious and is a catalyst for everyone else to stay locked in full dance-mode. It's with great pride to see guests on a typical night dancing from the very first DJ right up to the end of the night.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
A 'Stick It On' party as not dictated by a music style or genre. Each event is different and personal to that specific group or party as they get to play an integral part in picking the music via their DJ submission. We work closely with our clients so they are in control over the music direction and in essence, they get the music that they want for their event. I'd also like to think that our style in how we 'come across' when dealing with our clients and guests is friendly, professional, reliable considerate and that we genuinely care about their event.
What do you love most about your job?
I genuinely still love seeing people get a huge buzz from playing their DJ set. Those who get up and DJ for the most get a little bit nervous before their set. I think the thought of clearing the dance floor suddenly becomes a bit real. In reality, if they’ve been selected to DJ it’s because they’ve got great songs and the support from the dance floor from friends and family ensures that there is a lot of love and plenty of dancing during their set. From having initial nerves soon turns into unbridled joy as DJs get a huge wave of support and approval from the dance floor and it sometimes hard to get people to leave the DJ area after their set.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Having worked for a large corporation for many years the desire and determination to break free and work on my own project was always there. Stick It On's roots are from our club night which unexpectedly grew into a big success whereby we were selling-out a weekly club, appearing at major festivals and travelling the UK hosting Stick It On events. I realised that this was my big opportunity to set something up. So I went for it!
