I was crossing the street on foot with a walk signal and a green light. Out of nowhere, this car came flying up and tried to whip a right hand turn without even looking. I rolled up on the hood of their vehicle and was thrown about 25 feet to the pavement. I couldn't even move. After getting out of the hospital, I was completely unsure what to do. I was getting calls from the insurance company for the driver that hit me and they were asking for all kinds of information. In my conversations with the insurance people, it was clear to me that they did not want to help me but, were just trying to see how little they could pay. I had medical bills that weren't covered by my health insurance, I had missed days from work and I was frustrated. That's when I called several personal injury attorneys to try to get some help. The first few I called either put me on hold or had me speak with the "legal assistant". Steven took my call and talked to me personally. I was cruising on my Harley Davidson in the carpool lane of the 101 freeway when some moron crossed over the double yellow, clipped my bike, and sent me flying over the handlebars. I'm lucky I wasn't killed but, I had several broken bones and had to stay in the hospital for two weeks. When I got out, I had insurance companies calling me, my motorcycle was totaled, and I was already getting medical bills in the mail. I researched attorneys online and saw that most of the "motorcycle lawyers" type firms were full of BS! I was stopped for making an illegal left hand turn. This developed into a dispute with the LAPD, which ended in me being assaulted by the cops and then charged with "resisting arrest". Josh took the case to trial because I didn't want to plead guilty to anything and have this on my record.
