This was a great find. Starlight is a small quaint bar and restaurant with great staff and the food is amazing. The catfish is amazing and the brisket melts in your mouth. We had a big group in town for a wedding this past weekend and I'm so happy we picked Starlite to eat at on Friday! It is a chill spot with a rustic type look which I like. Plenty of alcohol and their mimosa was delicious. I came in with a migraine and wish I was friendlier to them myself lol but my whole head and neck hurt. Family wanted to eat out though and I deal with migraines all the time. I just get tired and sore. They really care about their customers and that was shown when we had a tiny issue occur and without hesitation they offered compensation for the inconvenience! Loved their baby back rib sandwich (I ate it so fast my husband couldn't ask to try it hahaha) and he got the brisket and he said he could taste the smokiness! Ok, first things first. I'm not a BBQ person really and I live in this Southish Scottsdale neighborhood. We can't wait to visit again. We've watched restaurants/bars come and go. This one must stay! We had beef ribs and brisket. You have to order something to try their sauces! All are good, mustard, house & spicy! I chose the brisket (delicious!) with the spicy sauce!! So good! My spouse chose the beef ribs and needless to say, he was happy and full. Btw, we chose 1/2 orders of each. Plenty of food! We have a list of things we want to try next time...Bartender Nick was hospitable and attentive. He made me a delicious banana caramel after dinner drink which hit the spot. Called last minute to reserve table for a group of us for a birthday celebration.  We were going to another restaurant because birthday girl wanted bbq beef ribs. The other restaurant stop serving them. They were so accommodating. Very small inside not to many tables but gave us a reservation.  Let us bring a cake and balloons and we had an 8 year old that is a picky eater so even let us bring her chicken strips. There service was absolutely the best. Our server was Matt I think. Young guy with shoulder length brown hair and mustache.  On the thinner side. If he's there he's the best. Manager came by a handful of times and helped with lots of tea refills. Glasses are very small so we drank a ton of great ice tea. We had brisket some of the best I've had. I could not stop eating it and boyfriend liked it to and hes not a bbq person. Birthday girl had beef ribs she loved them fall off the bone. Boyfriend had catfish and said its rubbery and was not a fan. But we did not send back. Sides were mac and cheese with pulled pork. Pork good mac and cheese no flavor. All 4 of us tried and did not like it. The 8 year old loves mac and cheese and took one bite. French fries were great good flavor. The potatoes are like home fries crispy chunks of delicious potatoes.  The 3 of us loved them. Every bite was gone of them and French fries. They brought cornbread to the table when we sat down. YUM! I was not expecting this place to be so small, and it was actually not busy at all for a Thursday night. Which is fine with me. I got the grilled cauliflower for the appetizer and wow was it good. Anything grilled is just going to better, but this was really good. For dinner I got the beef ribs with the glazed carrots. Both were DELICIOUS. The carrots are glazed in maple syrup I believe and the beef ribs were tender and pair so well with all the sauces. My friend got the meatloaf and honestly it looked like dog food and had the texture of dog food. It was alright. Taste was decent, but you think it would be grilled and crispier. The Mac and cheese was decent as well, not phenomenal. But my meal was great! I was a bit nervous because the prices are higher but you get quite a bit of food. This little gem, hidden on the outskirts of Old Town Scottsdale is not to be missed! The most delicious BBQ and good southern comfort food. Outside there is a roomie patio perfect for cool nights, inside its intimate but stylish. The staff are really friendly and happy to share their menu recommendations. There's a huge whisky collection behind the bar and a great cocktail selection also. Yum, yum and yum. Tried two different styles of ribs, both were finger licking good! Located in a strip mall so plenty of free parking. Outdoor and indoor seating plus bar. Had a great night of amazing drinks and great BBQ. We sat at the bar and talked shop with the bartender all night. The cocktails were amazing and the in-house bitters made my old-fashioned a drink to remember. When I'm back in the area, this will be first on my list to return to. Omg this place is such a gem. We were visiting and made a reservation on open table (love places that take resi's). We got to sit outside. They have a cute, intimate patio. Food wise we were blown away. They start you off with some skillet cornbread. DELICIOUS. We tried the ribs, Nashville hot chicken, and the meat loaf sandwich. All were life changing honestly. They give you 4 sauces to chose from. I liked the house bbq the best. The spicy bbq had a crazy amount of kick. For the sides, we selected Mac and cheese and the jalapeño grits. We went on Sunday about 130, by 3 place was packed. My daughter had heard the place was good, and we are foodies. We were surprised by its size. It's a small place I side and there is outside seating. One can also sit at the bar or booths with hightops ans stools. I ordered the brisket and porky fries. The porky fries are delicious, cheesy and the pulled pork on top made them taste fab. The brisket was a little tougher than I had expected yet I was still able to cut it without a steak knife. Being Texans transplants we were excited to try the Starlite BBQ.  My Boo got the full brisket w/ Jalapeño cheese grits. I got the Meat Loaf with the Braised greens.  YUMMY!! WOW!  Both were delicious!  Having said that, I think the meat loaf was a tad too sweet. I love greens & those braised greens are amazing.  The complimentary cornbread was divine!  We also ordered the Mesquite grilled cauliflower as a side served with a green goddess dressing & the Green chile pork appetizer w/ fritos. Think frito pie!  So tasty!  We had lots of leftovers & enjoyed this yumminess at home as well.  The service was great!  This is a small place in a shopping strip with also outside seating. Bae also got the C'est La Vie drink which was pretty good w/ vodka, blueberries & a splash of bubbles.  My only complaint was the ladies bathroom.  There's no hook or table, (and there's plenty of room for a small table) to put one's purse. Starlite is by far one of my top choices of places to go. I normally go with two of my friends(who are regulars) and the manager always comes out to say hi to them which makes you feel very welcomed. Now I like the place so much I just go alone and enjoy the experience just as much. The food is always spot on and delicious the service is good as well.  Highly recommend the Unicorn tears cocktail and sitting at the bar top to enjoy it because the bartenders are probably where I have gotten my favorite service.
