Q&As

A great website has been built with the audience/customer in mind. One of the biggest reasons someone will leave your site after a short time (high bounce rate) is because they don't know how to access the information they are looking for. A great website has clear calls to action, a mission, fast load time, ease of use, accessibility for those with visual impairments, and of course, is visually appealing.

1) What do you want your customers to know about you (your business)?
2) What do you want your customers to be able to do/access when they visit your website?
3) Who is your target audience (demographic)?
4)What do you want your customers/audience to walk away with after they leave your site?

As a small business ourselves (and two of us having grown up with families with small businesses) we have learned a lot about how to make small/medium businesses stand out as well as the challenges they face. We're eager to share our experiences with those who become our clients - and design the perfect website for them.

I (the founder of Star Mountain, Design for Web) was a former NYC schoolteacher for 10 years and changed career in my 30s to something I had always been passionate about - web design. I moved to England and pursued a Master's Degree in Web Design in London. Throughout my course, I kept hearing that I would be coming out of the programme much older than most people in the tech field (I was in my mid-30s at the time). I decided to use this to my advantage - and my ten years of classroom experience - to create my own company that supports clients of all ages and digital experience, and offers maintenance training to those who wish to keep their website content up-to-date without needing a full-time developer.

We're passionate about what we do, we have experience and education behind us (two of us at Star Mountain have degrees in web design), and lastly, we have the same goal as our clients - we want them to walk away with a something that is the product of their vision.
