Really impressed with the place staff are very friendly and the rooms were spotless. The breakfast was delicious would definitely recommend to stay here and will return for sure.
Relaxed atmosphere. Great surroundings. Good food
A very pleasant stay in a very well equipped large room. Smart modern bathroom with shower and unusually a roll top bath in the corner of the bedroom. Free parking in open car park adjacent to the lodge. Breakfast is taken across the pedestrianised road next to St Martins Cathedral. Lovely friendly staff and good buffet breakfast with choice of drinks. One minute walk to Richard III Museum. |Happy to recommend a stay here. More...
Me and wife stayed here for night. We were greeted by a very nice man in the car park saved us walking over to reception to come back again. He showed us round our room and even booked us a Taxi as we were late for a show. We stayed in the suite on the top floor and was very surprised the size of the room for the price. Had a changing room and very large bathroom. The only down side was the noise outside , the widows are not that thick and people coming back from a night out you could hear everybody disturbed sleep. Breakfast is over the road and was very nice. Overall very high quality for the price and great staff. More...
Fantastic location right outside the Cathedral. The rooms were beautifully furbished. Our room.was a little small but for one night it did its job. We had breakfast in the white rose cafe but was not worth the £12.00 im sure we could have found somewhere nearby to eat. Would definitely stay again. More...
Fantastic little hotel in an excellent location. The decor is tasteful and the rooms and amenities well thought out. |The breakfast the next morning was was much better than I had expected, served buffet style and regularly topped up. |This will be our go to hotel in Leicester. More...
I booked this hotel for my son and his partner for a Birthday treat through Booking.com. I then had to change the date and so I called the hotel directly and they were very helpful. Kyle said that at the time of booking the Hotel was empty so he told me he would put them in one of his favourite rooms overlooking the Cathedral on the top floor. When we checked in, we were taken to a room on the ground floor, so having had the conversation, I called Reception and they were very helpful and apologised and within five minutes came over and took us to a beautiful room on the second floor overlooking the Cathedral. It was a definite upgrade, much bigger with a claw foot bath and very comnfortable. ||I then left my son and his partner to it and they said they had a really lovely night there. The only cons I would say were that the radiator didn't work but again, reception were helpful and offered to bring a portable heater to the room. Also, the large bed was actually two single beds put together with a hard piece down the middle of the bed which was uncomfortable. Not something I would expect in such a room.||Apart from that, there was no question it was a lovely Hotel, in a great location. ||The Car Park would've been difficult not find had I not have spoken directly to the Hotel who gave me a different Postcode. It would be helpful if that was listed on Booking.com. More...
Stayed for 2 nights at the Lodge. The room was beautiful, and of much higher standard than you would expect for the room rate. It's in a very central location, so if you're staying at the weekend you may want to request a room on an upper floor at the rear of the building. Parking is free if booked via the hotel's website, although the car park was not the easiest to find. The hotel is in a great location, in a recently redeveloped part of the city across the road from the cathedral. Breakfast is in a cafe adjoined to the cathedral, and while nothing particularly special was perfectly adequate. Would definitely stay here again. More...
We’ve stayed in quite a few hotels in Leicester as our daughter is at uni here and this is by far the best. Fantastic location, lovely rooms, the most comfortable bed, delicious breakfast- honestly couldn’t fault it. The city was in desperate need of a boutique hotel and St Martins didn’t disappoint! Already planning our next trip! More...
Very nice interior of the rooms, friendly staff but noisy. We stayed for one night and could hear baby crying, people talking and the bells from the cathedral on Sunday morning :(
While a church run property would not normally have been my first.choice to stay, it turned out to be the perfect selection. The Lodge has recently been successfully converted to hotel style accommodation. It is ultra modern, with large airy rooms, flat screen tv modern bathroom and plenty of hot water.||||Breakfast is served in the coffee shop across the road in the church complex and provides a reasonable range of offerings. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful.||||One of the best features is that the Lodge is only metres away from the Richard 111 museum, city market and restaurants. Parking is provided in a secure car park behind the Lodge. The road in front of the Lodge is one way, so if possible enter via New Street, continue to the car park on the left just behind the Lodge and press the help button, which will connect you with someone to let you into the car park. Located right opposite the cathedral in a very quiet, yet central, location, this small hotel run by the diocese of Leicester offers very comfortable, spacious rooms with all amenities. Breakfast is a quick hop across the road in the white rose café, with a good selection of freshly cooked dishes, cereal, pastries etc. ||For the leisure traveller this hotel is definitely worth spending a little more than staying in one of the nearby corporate hotels. Walkable from the train station (with a small bag) or close to the ring road. Will come back! More...
One of the best places to stay in my opinion, especially for those on business - right in the city, and great value B&B. Restaurant is over at St Martins and not in th ebuilding, but you know that didnt matter - the staff are fantastically helpful, the room I had was spotlessly clean and the what a great night's sleep.||The only thing that coud have been better was bagging a room with a bath for a long soak after a weary day - but saying that the shower/wet room was fab.||Thank you, I will be back for another stay soon - well recommended. We arrived having booked via booking.com to a double room with a shower, I had requested a room with a bath. The lovely lady offered to upgrade us to a bigger room with a bath for a £15 extra charge and also through in breakfast! Bargin! We loved the room and the view of the Catherdal was amazing! The staff are so friendly and cant do enough for you. Breakfast was great and we really enjoyed going into Leicester and having the stroll back to the hotel not having to worry about taxis etc. ||We have stayed in many hotels over the years, St Martin's Lodge is easily one of the best for a fraction of the price. We liked it so much we've emailed to book again.||Tip - eat at Middletons steak house, they have a great fixed price menu, its 2 minutes walk away and fabulous cocktails! ||See you soon St Martin's Lodge! Slap bang in the middle of the city, a stone's throw from the Richard III action and the cathedral with everything else close at hand, I can't believe people would opt for a big box brand hotel on a ring road when they could book in here. ||Booking online bagged me an £85 bargain for a well-proportioned double room with top class facilities (fab shower room, gorgeous big bed) with a designer feel that reminded me of Malmaison/Hotel du Vin style, but at such a low price.||That price included city centre parking and an excellent breakfast in the cathedral precinct just across the road. Great place for lunch, especially the gluten free options.
Good venue. Friendly and very efficient service.
We stayed two nights on our way south from Scotland.||We were first given room 9, which we rejected on the basis that the bathroom area is only separated from the rest of the room by a semi-circular section of wall with no doors. However the friendly and helpful reception staff were happy to transfer us to Room 103 upstairs, directly overlooking the cathedral.||The room was very comfortable and well appointed, with a large shower cubicle.||The Lodge is well situated for Richard III visitors, and there is a nice half hour walk beside the river to the National Space Centre.||As a city location some late night noise is to be expected from club goers in the early hours (we were there on a Friday night) but overall we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it. We stayed in a superior room. Thanks to Veronica. The bed was amazing. I've recently had major surgery and struggle with compensatory back pain. But woke up with no back pain. So go for the superking bed/room if you can. We'd travelled at 6am from Glasgow to London then arrived at 11pm in Leicester. We checked in across the road and were shown to our room. We were both extremely tired. But woke up refreshed. The facilities in the room included fresh milk, tea, coffee and a Nespresso machine. The room was lovely and warm. The bedding was excellent. The shower was fantastic. If we're ever back in Leicester this is where we'll be staying. More...
We stayed here on a Saturday night. The room was clean, modern with a period feel. The roll top bath tub in the bedroom was an amazing feature. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The staff very helpful. The use of the carpark at the rear is a great asset and good price for a city centre loaction. We heard no noise guests or from outside so for a Saturday night that was good. Great location for exploring historic Leicester, cathedral and Richard III visitor centre. Would certainly book again and recommend. More...

We had our wedding reception here in March 2019. It was wonderful, Sarah and James and the team could not have been more helpful. I worked in UK for 6 weeks and had the pleasure of being part of the St. Martin's Lodge family for 42 days!! We stayed for our anniversary for a special one night break close to home.||The room (superior double) was stunning. The en-suite bathroom is big with a generous shower but there is a large roll top bath in the bedroom too. ||The bedroom is big as is the bed. Well fitted out with fridge, nespresso, large tv. It is very light in the day as the window is wall to wall.||Breakfast was in the White Rose Cafe next to the cathedral, a very short walk; very nice. Car parking is behind the lodge and can be accessed directly.||In the evening we had the pick of the Lanes, High St., and Highcross restaurants. All very lively but as soon as you are next to St Martins Lodge it feels very quiet and secluded.||It is a great place to have a relaxing break and enjoy the attention to detail and difference provided by this unique hotel. We recently stayed at St Martins Lodge for 2 nights (Friday + Saturday night) and enjoyed our stay. The room was elegantly furnished, spotless, spacious and comfortable, and well equipped (small coffee machine, fridge with bottles of mineral water and plenty of milk capsules), and the bathroom was nice, with a powerful shower. ||The lodge is an old building which was recently refurbished to a high standard, with lots of old features kept and character. It is a nice building, with the car park at the back, and reception and breakfast at St Martins House, 50 yards across the front of the building, by the Cathedral. ||We are only giving a 4 stars rating as we had a couple of niggles regarding the car park. When we arrived and reported to reception, the directions to go to the car park at the back of St Martins Lodge were not clear, and we went pass the car park as we had not been told to look for the public New Street car park and were looking for a private car park. A map with clear directions should really be given. ||Also, when we checked out, they tried to charge you £10 for the car park, when it is actually free to residents of the Lodge. ||Breakfast at the White Rose Cafe, by St Martins House, across the street from the Lodge, was nice and the staff were friendly. The cafe is a bright. modern place with big windows facing the cathedral gardens. Nice, relaxed atmosphere both mornings, the service was very good, and the food nice. ||Would stay there again if we ever need to be in the centre of Leicester again. More...
Just spent a night at St Martins. Check in is confusing, the reception is across the road from the hotel in St Martins house. There is a notice on the door informing people. Lots of space for parking. Rooms are lovely large beautifully decorated with nespresso coffee machine, several complimentary bottles of water, lots of teas, shower and shampoo. Room was clean and warm. The best thing about the hotel is location overlooking the cathedral on a beautiful quiet square, walking distance to pubs, bars and shops. Breakfast was excellent lovely full English with cereals, fruit and pastries in a cosy little cafe attached to reception. Also staff are warm and friendly. Fully recommend. More...
I was a little confused by the set up originally. Took me awhile online to find out that the check in desk was over the road at the conference centre with a car park on New Street. From the outside ST Martins lodges just looks like a house. However, when I emailed them to ask they quickly provided a map that helped me navigate it all easily. ||||To my delight they also upgraded us to the suite for the night as it was our anniversary. This wa a wonderful surprise! The room was amazing, clean and well decorated. The decor even stemmed out into the hall. We had an amazing view of the cathedral, which suprising the bells were nicely muffled on Sunday morning. ||||I had an amazing evening thanks to St Martins Lodge. The only thing leaving my baffled was the lack of door on the bathroom!!!! Blush! More...
I group booked 10 rooms for family and friends for my recent 30th birthday party nearby. I couldn't have found anywhere more perfect. This hotel is simply stunning. The location is perfect as its right near the centre of the city and the surroundings are lovely.||The interior of the hotel is simple, elegant and spotlessly clean. I personally found the beds comfortable although the pillows were a little hard and rather large (I tend to prefer a skinnier pillow or two!) although it didn't affect my sleep. I loved the added touches of the scatter cushions too!|The bathroom was huge and the shower is the best I've ever used in a hotel. My only niggle was how hot it was - every single radiator in the building appeared to be on full blast... I turned mine off and opened the window, although some of my other guests did mention they hadn't slept well due to the heat unfortunately.||Check in was simple enough, we parked in the hotel car park round the back of the lodge itself and then wandered over to the building opposite to check in - it's literally a minute walk. We were taken to our rooms and the key fobs checked so everything went really smoothly. There is a door right out to the car park to then bring luggage inside. Just be aware there is no bar or bar area in the lodge so my party of 20 struggled to meet for a pre party glass of fizz anywhere other than my room... Which luckily was very spacious. However, you are within 2 minutes walk of a bar or pub from the lodge so its no major issue. ||The breakfast was also of high quality and was all fresh, its served buffet style but in relatively small portions and topped up often so nothing was dried out. There was a choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, cooked breakfast & pastries and also hot drinks & fruit juices - we were spoilt for choice.||The manager Martin has been a pleasure to deal with, very polite, organised and professional. All of my friends and family were very impressed and have said they would stay there on another visit to Leicester in a heart beat. I live on the outskirts of the city and feel the same. ||I cannot say enough positive things about this place! More...

An excellent Venue to hold your events, situated in the heart of Leicester, this location is ideal.
Excellent conference facilities and event rooms. Opposite to Leicester Cathedral. Contains a Christian bookshop and gift store and a day time cafe.
Our daughter and son-in-law recently celebrated their wedding at this excellent venue. They live abroad and much of the planning was by e-mail and telephone with Nick Quinn the director. He immediately realised what they required, which resulted in a marvellous celebration. Everything went so smoothly and we were all very impressed with the venue, wonderful food and friendly staff. The room looked so pretty with the fairy lights and coloured up lighting. Many guests stayed at the newly opened St Martins Lodge just across from St Martins House. The hotel offered luxury accommodation, tastefully furnished and very comfortable. The attention to detail made this happy day a wonderful experience. More...
Great accommodation, beautiful decor. Helpful staff.|Perfect location for access to local area and parking available.|Some teething problems with access out of hours when entry card failed to work but would still return again.
This is a great place to stay in Leicester. It is very new, with high quality decor and superb room comfort. Our bathroom was huge, with a superb shower, a standalone bath tub, plenty of shelf space for personal items, giant heated towel rail and excellent toiletries. There was free water in a fridge, kettle and tea bags, and a coffee Nespresso maker. Check-in across the road at St Martin's House was efficient. Location is excellent - just 1-2 minutes walk from the Cathedral and also from the (also superb) Richard 3 Visitor Centre. Plenty of restaurants and shops also within a few minutes, yet the lodge manages to feel quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was buffet style, but was much better than this implies, with high quality ingredients, fast and well priced. Even the coffee was good. ||||Suggested improvements: ||- It is slightly odd having to park once to collect the key, then drive around to the lodge car park. Perhaps it would be better to email comprehensive directions for parking in New Street, so one could then walk across the road to obtain a key - at least offer this as an option for those happy to walk a couple of minutes?||- We had attempted to book a room with a king bed (via booking.com), but somehow we ended up in a normal double bed. The website refers to double and twin rooms, but it seems there are also some kingsize beds available - this could be made clearer on the website. More...
