Q&As

I work as a videographer but also as a Communications Support Officer for Durham University. I love the variety and creativity involved with my job: as a videographer I get to film all these lovely, happy, family occasions and also some fascinating stage productions. Then in the editing process I'm able to shape the raw footage into a meaningful and engaging, indeed quite emotive, film. I particularly enjoy putting together the beautiful visual sequences, showing the happy couple looking very handsome, relaxed and happy together, which are set to music of the couples' choice. My University job is even more varied: I've produced animations and graphics, interviewed people, produced promotional videos and filmed major lectures.

After I graduated from the University of Central Lancashire in 2005 with a degree in Media Technology and Web and Multimedia I wanted to make best use of my skills - I felt that in the area I live that may be best fulfilled in self-employed / freelance work. Initially the plan was to start a video editing service for people's home videos but I developed that into fully produced video productions (thus avoiding having to deal with wobbly amateur camerawork!) and specifically weddings.

I'm a creative first and foremost, so my imaginative approach and experience in video production - which includes producing excellent quality graphics and vibrant post-production - are my selling points. I would recommend looking at the examples of my video work on here as further reference.
