I have been using Squeaky Green for a few years now and would highly recommend to others. When I started using this service, it was just the owner Maria, who would ride her bike with her broom/mop on the back to my home. (Always found that kind of cool). I have watched her grow her business throughout the years by expanding, hiring additional staff, taking on different types of clientele such as businesses, and adding a line of cleaning products. With fast growth came a few bumps in the road, but that is to be expected with any company. Squeaky Green has now stabilized and continues to provide the excellent service they have been known to provide. My most recent service was on 11/19/19 which had been the first cleaning appointment after a long break. My cleaners were Maria and Stephanie. They did an AMAZING job. I hate to air my dirty laundry in public, but my house was a complete disaster before they came in. When I returned from work, it felt like I had walked into a new house. They cleaned everything from the appliances to the windows to the baseboards. They organized my random misc things in a way that made me wonder how I hadn't thought of that sooner. I had just recently brought in some plants from the winter weather and had them placed randomly around the house and in their way. They handled my plants with a high level of care and didn't let them stop them from providing a great cleaning service. I've had Squeaky Green come to my house a few times, and they are always friendly and do a good job. Last time I had them come, there were a handful of spots that were missed, but after contacting them, they offered to make it right on the next visit with a percentage off and to have one of the more seasoned cleaners come. I recently moved from Atlanta but had used Squeaky Green for years. I love them and am trying to find someone like them now and it is a struggle. Their customer service and reliability was always top notch- for both the cleaners and working with the owner, they were professional and accommodating to my schedule which changed all the time. Squeaky Green is super professional with their communication, emails, and services! The place is always super clean after they visit - and I always put extra emphasis on getting up all the cat hair, which they're super patient about since I harp on it so much! They also offer alternating schedules - I can't afford to have my whole house cleaned every time, so I can do only select rooms and bathrooms and keep it at a minimum. The ONLY thing I'll say is that nothing smells great - because they use natural cleaning items and not chemicals, it's vinegar based and you don't get that fresh clean whiff when you get home. That's really my only caveat right now - if they found an eco-friendly room spray, powder, (or something more than the essential oils which aren't cat friendly) then I'd be 100% instead of 95%! I'm a Type A over-communicator with anxiety, and from the jump, Maria helped me feel at ease by answering many (many) questions via email and phone. Being my first experience with a cleaning service, I was nervous/embarrassed to ask a cleaning service to help out, but Katie and Adam were super friendly and detailed. They didn't bat an eye at my cleaning requests, although they were odd; I have a cat with a sneezing problem, and both Certified Green Clean Neat Freaks committed to scrubbing cat boogers off of baseboards (!!). Squeaky Green cleaners arrive with everything they need from our homemade organic cleaning solutions to a state of the art vacuum with HEPA filter.
What do you love most about your job?
We love to help out! Cleaning is everyone's least favorite chore but it is non-negotiable. By cleaning get to make the life of a new mom or a busy pair of workaholics a little more livable. In doing that we give people time to enjoy their home and their family in a happy and clean environment.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I am a go getter through and through! I started this business as a solo cleaner and we have steadily grown into our current team of 15 cleaners! I am a hard worker and was inspired to grow something for myself.
