one of my favorite restaurants
Great breakfast, brunch, and lunch options, including for those looking for something on the healthier side. Outdoor, shaded seating when the weather's nice, but they do get crowded so be prepared for a wait. Square Cafe is on the main street of Regent Square, though, so there are some cute shops you can check out while waiting. More...
The food was delicious, the restaurant was clean, and the staff is amazing. Plus veggie friendly noms and iced coffee. 10/10 good for hangover recovery
Great place for breakfast!
Ohh man what a lovely brunch this was!! On a cold sunny day we waited for a table by their coffee 'bar' while enjoying a good coffee. The 25 minute wait Saturday noon was also spent admiring the decor of this cute little spot. I've been here once more. Food items are made fresh and the quality is high. I got the breakfast sandwich with soy chorizo , it was simple and yummy. More...
Great brunch place
Efficient staff very good food
Great food, great service and great prices.
Best of the best breakfast!!
1st time here. Lots of vegetarian options. Food was okay.
Perfect little spot the people were very friendly I highly recommend
The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We went for lunch and were seated immediately
Very nice and pleasant neighborhood cafe. I will want to consider next time we are in the Regent Square area. It is a happening kind of area...and this is a must when visiting!
Pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon but for a good reason. Fast service. Yummy food. Somewhat expensive but nothing too bad. Recommended.
The service was great, portions were huge, coffee was hot! Loved this place and even bought a mug on the way out!
Great service and food. Recommend the breakfast burrito or veggie omlet .
A great place for breakfast. Crepes, pancakes, french toast, eggs, bacon: the works. They also make great smoothies and milkshakes if you're feeling indulgent.
Each time I come to Pittsburgh...several times a year...I make sure to have breakfast at the Square cafe. I always sit outside weather permitting. The service is good and the food is always very good. They do it right. I am a lifelong Customer now. More...
Loved this tiny and super busy place that is very dog friendly, served great food with good service!
Not bad. My food was a little bland but nothing salt and pepper couldn't remedy. The space is very small.
Great food and atmosphere, will definitely be returning
Greatest place for brunch in the city. It does get very crowded so make sure to come early. The space is amazing and so inviting. The staff is wonderful and everything is clean and well maintained. The food is so so so good! More...
Great coffee and great breakfast food.
Little noisey but the food made up for it.
Portions are a tad small.
Great brunch menu; a variety of options some are pretty healthy. I liked the Cabese omelet.
Always delicious and fresh. Classic breakfast food with twists. Something for every eater (veg gluten free etc). And great coffee!!!
The food is decent although a bit lacking on seasoning. There are many good vegetarian and vegan options as well as a child's menu. I do feel it is a bit pricy for the portions however the food is solid and there are many healthy options. More...
So delicious! Salmon & Spinach Salad, Smoked Salmon Scramble, French Pancakes. Best breakfast ever. Friendly waitress. Recommend outdoor space.
The best vegan pancakes in the area... Don't pass them up.
Clean, delicious restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Great options for vegetarian and gluten-free also. Wide-ranging menu of creative items and prepared wonderfully. Saturday and Sunday morning wait times can be challenging and though several shops to visit in the Regent Square area, you need to stay close to hear your name called. More...
A hidden gem! I love it here!
i love everything about this place. the food. the atmosphere. the coffee... the coffee . the staff. i cant even think of a single negative experience here.
Wonderful menu for breakfast and lunch. Good coffee menu, smoothies. Great friendly service. Busy on weekend mornings.
Ordered take out of lemon blueberry pancakes & chicken mushroom crepes. Delicious!!
I love that this restaurant is fast and reliablely good. I don't think I've ever had a less than stellar brunch dish here in the nearly dozen years I've been going with some regularity.
Awesome food. Seasonal menu. All fresh ingredients. Quirky service.
Great food! Great service! A wonderful neighborhood gathering place!

One of my favorite lunchtime places. Great service and fine food - all for a great price. Check their menu online.
Great food. Great service.
Great place food was great service was top notch even on a busy Saturday afternoon.
Good food, nice service.
This is probably my favorite breakfast/brunch place in Pittsburgh! Okay, I've only been in town for a month, but I've already tried a lot of places, and this is the winner! I'm a sucker for anything pumpkin, so when I saw pumpkin praline latte on the menu I lost it (in a good way!) I was trying to be healthy, so I just got the yogurt bowl, but it was still one of the best yogurt(s?) I've had in a restaurant. It's plain greek yogurt, so I just asked for some honey. The granola won me over! My boyfriend got an omelette - don't remember which one, but he liked it as well. It may not be the cheapest place, but it's worth it for some tasty food! I came back and tried the french toast which was also good. They had switched to their spring menu, so pumpkin options were gone :( I had the salty chai latte iced, and it was SO good. Great combo of chai tea flavor and espresso. Highly recommend! More...
Omg!! So, I just ate the best pancake I've ever had in my 38 years on this planet. Please, I'm begging you to try the blueberry lemon ricotta pancake. It will change your life.On top of that, our server, Kathleen, was friendly, prompt and on top of her game. If you are in the area, I recommend you stop and enjoy an amazing meal. Did I mention to try the blueberry lemon ricotta pancake Insert my drooling face here!!! More...
Good food, good service in a fun atmosphere. Really good healthy eating options.
Clean, delicious restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Great options for vegetarian and gluten-free also. Awesome busy brunch place! All food is excellent and staff is soooo nice!! :) Crepes are delicious, omelettes are great but grits with brussel sprouts is UNBELIEVABLE:) must try
Delicious and Welcoming
Super dope vibe. Get there early because it gets crowded really quickly. The pancakes are so delicious & the vegan/vegetarian menu is extensive. The coffee selection is so good & the specialty lattes are scrumptious. More...
I've gone to Square Cafe over the years for breakfast and lunch and I've stopped in for coffee and tea. I have always enjoyed the food, drinks and the atmosphere. It's a great part of Regent Square! More...
The food and atmosphere are so fun!
Excellent service even though it was packed this morning. The staff was pleasant, the food came quickly and it was excellent food. The atmosphere was wonderful they have indoor and outdoor seating. They are very clean conscious. I observed them wiping the tables and chairs and sweep the floor during the busy rush. A lot of places just wipe tables and keep it moving. We will be back. More...
Great food great atmosphere great service
Friendly, clean, inclusive and artistic quaint little spot with sidewalk seating. Coffee was amazing, menu was diverse and offered many vegetarian and healthy options. The lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes did not live up to my hopes and dreams but they were ok. Twice a staff member came by and reached across our two seater table right between our faces to grab the ketchup bottle without a word, let alone an excuse me. Overall, I would like to return and try something else on the menu. More...
A fav location for delicious Brunch. One of the best spots in the area. I've had nothing but pleasant experiences here and plan to keep coming back. Prices are decent.
I met up with a friend here on a Sunday afternoon. We didn't have to wait too long for a table inside. I ordered the soyrizo bowl I believe it was called, and a golden milk. Although I'm not vegetarian, I did enjoy my meal well enough. But I could definitely taste the difference. At least it was healthy! I've always wanted to try golden milk and I really enjoyed my first at Square Cafe! My friend got some kind of smoothie that was beyond good! There are so many delicious looking items to try that accommodate any dietary needs. The place is very popular, it was crowded our entire time there through to closing at 3pm. I loved seeing families with young kids who were able to come and enjoy a nice meal together. Definitely a casual atmosphere. Our waitress was nice as well. I'll be back, thank you! More...
The food is really good and the service was excellent!
Enjoyed the menu once again!!
The servers are very pleasant and helpful, the food is good, and socially responsible.
One of my preferred locations for tasty Brunch. Service is always awesome even when they have a full house. Next time I'll be back with my friends. This place has a cool feel to it.
One of my top places for quality brunch. i like it here, excellent food & service. the bill was fair for the quality of food.
Well rounded, broad menu. Most people will be able to find something on the menu that interests them (vegetarian, vegan, and meat eaters alike). This place is always super busy, and is a favorite for breakfast spot. The prices are somewhat high for me, but it's still a must try. More...
Wonderful local institution, although pricey and crowded

The food here is amazing and the coffee is to die for
Great little restaurant in Regent Square. Plenty of vegan dishes. The Nutella crepes were quite delicious. Staff were friendly. Prices were on par with location and fare. More...
Try any of the breakfast bowls. They're all great.
Muy buen servicio, rico y abundante!!!Lindo lugar, muy amigable!!
Super clean spot for breakfast or lunch. High quality food for hard to please diets. Nice place to grab a booth in the back for a meeting with friends or for business. Def check them out!
Wonderful outdoor seating
Stopped for brunch on my walk back from the gym. The breakfast selection was quite wide. I had the breakfast burrito and coffee both of which were excellent! I will definitely come back again.
Service was impeccable! It would have been a 5 star, but the toast was burnt.
My favorite brunch place in Pittsburgh!
I had the Caprese Scramble - it was delicious.
I love it , it's a small cozy neighborhood cafe with plenty of unique tasty choices ! A lil' Pittsburgh treat tucked away close to the city. A beautiful Park resides close across the street with walking trails through the woods ;) More...
Loved the veggie crepes, plus a great relaxed and fun atmosphere. Would love to come back soon.
Amazing atmosphere, the wait staff, the food, is totally worth the visit! Highly recommend! PS- That brussel sprout bowl .

Staff was extremely friendly and we were quickly seated. Food was tasty.
Service was lacking. Food was average. Prices were great
Every time I come here the food is great. Personally, I tend to like their breakfast offerings, but their sandwiches and fries are also delicious. Especially the fries! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but they really do not disappoint.Great atmosphere, nice servers—a little packed in on the weekends, but that’s part of the charm! A definite part of my regular rotation. More...
Excellent food and service
Great food and service. There are plenty to select, especially for gluten free.
Amazing food. Wonderful atmosphere. Great service. I can't wait to go back.
This place rocks
Very yummy! But the breakfasts don't exactly come as full meals- you have to pay "a la cart" for sides like bacon or scrambled eggs. This made the price a little high for a morning out, as a side of bacon for me and my boyfriend was 10 dollars....Location was very cute and although the place is small and super packed on the weekends, the service was wonderful. Great staff! More...
I love this restaurant. It has such a cool atmosphere, the staff is always ridiculously friendly and helpful, and the food is SO GOOD. I highly recommend the chickpea beet burger. I swear I taste that sandwich in my dreams. The mugs (that you can buy!!) are unique and beautiful. I'm always happy to be on this side of Pittsburgh so I can stop here for lunch. More...
One of the best places anywhere to find a unique delicious menu for health conscious people as well as for those who like to indulge. I adore this place. It is a love letter to anyone who likes food. More...
Great place for lunch or brunch. I have to come back for dessert
Great breakfast/brunch/lunch place! Food was great and they had a great selection of vegan and vegetarian food too! Portions were sizable and the prices were a little higher than normal, but worth it. Keep in mind, this place gets busy around lunchtime/brunchtime on weekdays as well as weekends. Also, the coffee mugs were awesome! Overall, great! More...
Delicious food and excellent customer service
Best square American breakfast this side of the Mississippi. Cold brew is dope.
brunch at this place - super good. got there near seven, it wasn't very crowded. certainly worth a return visit.
Consistently good food and quick service. Always a line to get into the place. Plan accordingly.
Great place! Food is terrific as are the servers and chefs!
First time visiting here. I had the “square breakfast” sub pancake for French toast with strawberries and bananas, scrambled eggs with cheddar, bacon, and coffee. The wait was about 15-20 min, seating was very limited and there wasn’t anywhere inside to sit to wait for our seats(Parking was difficult to find). Apparently, all breakfast spots in Pittsburgh have a long wait. I enjoyed my breakfast and they have super cute and unique coffee cups. More...
Delicious food and great atmosphere. Service could use a little work
Very busy during brunch hours - I would definitely call ahead if you plan to attend for brunch. The food was very tasty and the service was fast.
The sprout bowl is a delight
Used there catering services and was blown away. Excellent
Square cafe occupies a lovely Main Street storefront with classic diner tables and chairs as well as a bar. The menu has a nice selection of typical fare, and is not overwhelming. The omelette I ordered was excellent, with plenty of sausage and peppers. I was surprised toast did not come along. The staff was very friendly and I was a bit fan of the overly-robust handle of the coffee mugs (They’re for sale, too) More...
Food was good and service was great... Very busy for Sunday morning as expected but I appreciated that they only sat people who had their whole party! We were orginally told 20 minutes but got seated in 5 minutes. More...
Awesome brunch with a lot of GF and veg options. Golden Milk was delicious while we waited for our table and you can never go wrong with any of their menu options. Looking forward to visiting again.
Great place to meet for an early Sunday breakfast, excellent tasting meal!
Y-U-M! I love this place for their brunches. They have a latte with cayenne and honey that's just fantastic! Their pancakes are something special, as is their breakfast burrito, and when they have their Brussels sprouts on top of polenta it's on my must-order list. There's often a wait for a table but it's always been worth it. More...
Great place with great food. It is quite small and always packed. However, that speaks to the good service, food, and atmosphere.
I got the brioche french toast with a side of bacon. The bacon was 4 slices for $5; it was good, but definitely not worth the $1.25 per slice. French toast was pretty good. More...
Amazing food :) delicious milk shakes , would have given 5 stars if my waiteress could care a bit more. But a must must must try Sunday breakfast
Yummy and the service was excellent!
I love this place! The food is always delicious, the service is fast and friendly and the cafe is artsy! I love it!
Always a great experience. They have daily specials that are usually a great option. Really everything is good here I've only never tried the milkshakes. The staff and location are awesome. Check out the rotating artists they host on the walls. More...
The space is small and a lot of people come her so be prepared for long wait times, but the food is definitely worth it and that's why people keep coming back. I like this place much better than Pamela's for brunch since the food tastes better and feels healthier. The staff are also very understanding and helpful. #vegetarianfriendly More...
Excellent flavors, excellent service
Square Cafe serves high quality breakfast and lunch fare (along with shakes and smoothies), with an emphasis on delicious and healthy variations on classic dishes. Not a greasy spoon, this is my favorite breakfast spot in Pittsburgh. More...
This was our first place we ate in PA and it was AMAZING! The waiter was helpful and the food was fantastic. It was priced appropriately for the quality and quantity. ❤
Square Cafe is the best place for a great gluten-free breakfast in the area. The staff are very knowledgeable on menu items containing gluten and how the chefs work to avoid cross contamination. My mom and I both have Celiac Disease, and we’ve never gotten sick from eating here. They have great options, including awesome gluten-free buckwheat pancakes. More...
Truly vegan friendly. Good stuffs :)
Love this cafe, it can get busy but it's worth a little wait and it's always best to go on a day with nice weather as there's outdoor tables! I recommend the shakes and the brioche french toast! More...
Didn't look at the menu before going here but I was really craving a place that had good brunch food and unique lattes. This is the place! The prices aren't unreasonable at $9-13 a plate. The quality of food is good and the portions are reasonable. I tried the croque madame, which is two over easy eggs cracked on top. I was able to finish it all but felt full. There were a lot of other choices that I wanted to try, like a breakfast chili bowl and a few different kinds of pancakes. We'll have to go back again. More...
Cute spot, food is always good!
Our favorite place for brunch, we hike 6 miles to get there, eat good food from friendly servers, and hike home. There is often a wait and it is worth it! It has just the right mix of hippy and contemporary, mixed with a healthy dash of compassion and acceptance. Good food, good vibe. More...
Simply the best breakfast/brunch spot around. They have a wide variety of fresh and delicious options – and tempting specials – that suit anyone's diet and lifestyle (including GF, Vegan, etc.). It's always so difficult to choose, but anything with Brussels sprouts, their scrambles or pancakes are a same bet. If it weren't so pricey for a family of 3, I'd go more often, but that said it is priced on par with the quality of what you receive. One of my favorite spots in the city. More...
White bean bowl and Brussel sprout bowl are my go to. So good!
Square might be my favorite place to eat breakfast or brunch in all of Pittsburgh. The menu is excellent and their specials always are good. The coffee is also good as is the service. The only downside to square is they're always busy on weekends because of how good it is. More...
A very yummy breakfast! I had the protien pancakes and black coffee. Both were excellent! I was energized and full for hours afterwards.
Delicious Food. Super cute atmosphere. Awesome staff.
One of the greatest places in Pittsburgh for breakfast very cozy and busy but so worth the experience excellent food and amazing staff
Good service, great pancakes and healthy dishes!
Excellent food and service. Always crowded and there was a 30 minute wait to be seated today. I highly recommend the Square Cafe. Linda Yazvac
Friendly, fast, and delicious. They're specials are quite special.
Nice ambience, great service, good food. A bit expensive but a nice treat.
Awesome food, quaint and friendly atmosphere. There is also outdoor seating with umbrella for covering. They are pet friendly for the outdoor seating area, they even bring a bowl of water for your pet.
Love this place. Potent coffee and vegan options. It's always packed, but so worth the visit whenever I'm back in Pittsburgh.
The smoothies are AMAZING
Sehr gut besuchtes Lokal, die Tische stehen eng zusammen und es war ziemlich laut. Die Karte ist sehr gross und umfassend. Die Speisen schmeckten gut. Parkplätze sind leider nicht immer ganz einfach zu finden. More...

Delicious food and the waiter was wonderful. Attentive but not obstrusive.
I will truly miss working here! ALL of the staff are wonderful and work very hard to deliver amazing service combined with stellar food cooked with love from the awesome cooks in the back! I love you guys! Definitely can’t wait to stop back in when I visit Pittsburgh! ❤️ More...
Very good food, good coffee too. Very busy, but good staff made it work. A bit pricey, but worth it once in a while.
Great place to get brunch. Line can usually be long so make sure to get here early.
Best place for sweet treat brunch! Pumpkin pancakes, can I say more. Yum. Love the people and atmosphere here so much.
Awesome place for brunch in regent square. Everything is fresh and done properly, staff is friendly and prompt. There is usually a wait, but it's worth it!
It's the best brunch in town, with lots of veggie and vegan options (but also plenty of meat and eggs for everyone else). There's usually a wait but it's worth every minute.
Best omlette with gruyere and asparagus!! And a free unicorn sticker!!
Delicious, healthy breakfast with multiple vegan options
Always creative and tasty. Service is warm with just the right amount of attention given to a customer's needs and expectations.
I have one complaint. No corned beef hash (it’s the one thing that separates the great breakfast from the ehhhh breakfast). Service was great. Beautiful morning, so we sat outside and enjoyed the calming flow of traffic. Lemon Ricotta Blueberry pancakes. All you need. More...

Awesom place to est, great food!
Hard to get into. I won't divulge my secret.
Square always has exactly what I'm craving. The lines on the weekend can be rough, but it's always worth it. Great options for vegetarians and vegans and if a plate isn't V to begin with, they are happy to accommodate. They also have a large coffee, smoothie, and milkshake menu, but personally I like the bottomless regular coffee. More...
Good quality and service. Too pricey for what you get though.
Absolutely delicious chorizo scramble and ricotta berry pancake. Prices are a little expensive though.
The best breakfast/lunch spot in the city of Pittsburgh period!
Great atmosphere, feels very homey and their Brussel sprout bowl is the stuff of dreams
Nice, quaint place with excellent coffee and breakfast options. If you out your name in for a table, do not leave the area! They will give your table away immediately. More...
I had the Hot Sausage Scramble and it was delicious. I definitely would recommend Square Café for a unique dining experience. The staff were friendly and very helpful. My only negative is the establishment is not wheelchair friendly. If using a wheelchair, your only option for seating is outdoors. The tables are such that anyone using a wheelchair would not be able to sit close enough to the table to eat comfortably. More...
Fun, good food.
Sometimes there's a really long wait because its popular both with people who live in Regent Square, and college students. But their outside seating is great (its cozy and they allow dogs outside), and the food is always excellent. They also have a wide range of coffees and a huge menu. More...
Best. pancakes. EVER!!
Really good breakfast plates, the protein pancakes were delicious. They pack a lot of people in, so be prepared to rub elbows with the table next to you. It's worth it, though.
What an awesome little cafe and they have a handful of vegan options that are actually GOOD. If you have to wait to get a table, go ahead and wait, it's well worth it. We'll definitely be back!
An excellent selection of coffee, breakfast food and healthy fare with lots of character and excellent service. The prices are reasonable and outside seating is an nice added bonus.
The food was really good, but the service was slow. I think Sarah C was attempting to wait on too many tables at once, perhaps.
My ALL TIME FAVORITE breakfast place in the burgh. If you're coming at a hot time on the weekend, prepare to wait for a bit BUT definitely worth the wait!! Vegan and vegetarian options too and their lattes are to die for ugh More...

So lucky to have this place so close to home. The food is always amazing and everyone who works there is great!
Food is great but they need more vegan options

Great atmosphere. Cute sidewalk seating. Excellent food!
Excellent food. Hard to find parking. Very pricey. Vegan options.
Good food but prices are a little high. My friend and I spent 18 dollars for breakfast plus the tip.
Tasty coffee and plenty of breakfast selection. They have lunch items, but breakfast is the real reason you go. Usually long line so get there early.
Eyal S. Ron
We parked our moving truck (moving my son from CMU to Boston) outside, and although the restaurant was packed we were seated after a very short wait. The service was friendly and welcoming. The menu had many options from vegan, vegetarian, to many meat options ... The portions were lamberjack size and yet very tasty. My only petpeeve was that my generous tip was calculated on the bottom line (tax included) and not only on the food subtotal We will come again, when we will return for the CMU graduation More...
Good food great service
By far the best Rueben sandwich I’ve ever had. Meat was tender and extremely flavorful. And the fries were excellent as well. Highly recommend.
Great food, environment, and people. Dietary friendly, including vegan!Hands down the best tater tots I have ever had...including Grill 23 (Boston), who has truffled tots which are known national. More...

This place has a great breakfast! I love that gluten-free pancakes are offered. It can get very crowded on the weekends, so I would recommend calling before you stop by.
Great food. The food is worth every penny.

Good food. A great variety for people of all diets. Not very big but you can order pickup too.
The roasted beet salad was AWESOME!

Great place to hear great music and experience and quaint but not crowded concert, parking can be a bear if you don't get there early but other than that if you like up close and personal intimate setting to watch a band play then this is the right place to do that.
One of the Best Breakfasts in Pittsburgh.
Great coffee drinks, unique breakfast dishes. Try the brussel sprouts bowl!
Great cafe and very collective atmosphere
Good place to go for breakfast! I don't really like some of the food here, but their pancakes are really good. The bacon is also good. This place is usually packed with people. Both times I've been here, I've had to wait a few minutes for a table to be available. That just shows how popular this restaurant is! More...
Very positive..service great. Menu would like choice of couple more omelets . Love coffee to go option

Always delicious options you wouldn't just make at home.
Sat outside and enjoyed the Brussel sprout grits bowl. Totally creamy!!
Very helpful staff. We enjoyed the food and wine.
While there isn't a huge variety of straight up breakfast/brunch places in Pittsburgh, fortunately, Square Cafe is one of them. Packed on the weekends but if it's just for two, you can usually get in pretty quick, most of their tables can be put together or pulled apart piecemeal.Great menu, love the occasional changes and every interesting sounding pancake has been on my list of favorite pancakes ever. Cinnamon something pancake, and the pumpkin Walnut are two noteworthy favorites. Otherwise, the more standard square protein breakfast and their omelettes are well worth it. More...
Best breakfast in Pittsburgh.
Great coffee served from very cool homemade mugs. Perfect spot for brunch.
Soooooooo beyond incredible. I was taken aback when they offered to put our coffee in to go mugs when we were leaving. That was a wonderful added bonus. The food is phenomenal and fresh. It's only slightly pricey, but it's definitely worth it. My boyfriend and I went for the first time and then had to go again the following weekend! More...

I've never had a bad dish in this place! Space is tight but any wait is worth it.
Amanda Suárez C.
There's a good variety of options for brunch. There's always a long wait on weekends, but it's worth.
Always great food and service. Lots of vegetarian options.
It's a good sign when there's always a wait at a restaurant, likewise when there's a regular clientele. Square Cafe is on my local shortlist for brunch. Their breakfast and lunch menus are solid and cover tasty options for diners of a variety of dietary restrictions.Note that they don't take reservations, so expect to wait 10-20 minutes on a weekend. Although there was a long wait for a Friday morning and the service was a bit slow (probably due to how busy it was), the service itself was excellent and the food was very good. Great coffee.
Always good! Food pleasing to the eye as well as the taste buds.
Delicious food, great atmosphere and good service. Busy too, get there early!
I love the Square Cafe. Not only as a favorite for breakfast, but a favorite restaurant in general. I love their play with irony -- there is nothing "square" about them. Their menu is creative - as well as outstanding - and changes seasonally. The staff is genuine, fun, and accommodating; of all the strange additions or alterations I've made to my orders, all the times I've ordered two full meals (for myself!), they readily smile and accept my requests. The atmosphere is buzzing as everyone starts their day (and speaking of buzz, their coffee is wonderful!) The artwork, which usually showcases local talent, is constantly circulating and often up for sale, as well. Despite the small space and overflow of customers, the wait is never too long. It always feels just right.... I always feel right at home. More...
Good clean food, local reputation
A nice place for brunch, but it feels little bit crowded. The staff are super friendly too.
Great atmosphere here! We were told the wait was 15 minutes, but we were taken in five! The service was fast and the food was great. I ordered the chorizo scramble and a patty o’peppermint latte. Good stuff! Great for vegetarians too! More...
Amazing breakfast for both Vegans and carnas
Food is good, decent variety. Excellent chai tea. Space is tight and there's almost always a wait.

Great place for brunch, and they have gluten free pancakes! Funky, delicious, and not to be missed.
just love the vibe.......nice brunch and breakfast place....lovely warm people........................................good food
Good food? ✅, Great service? ✅ Welcoming environment ✅ .What more could you ask for? I had the salmon omelette and it was to die for. Would give definitely recommend!
Square Cafe is a true Pittsburgh gem. The food is great--lots of options, comforting, flavourful. With outdoor seating, this is the perfect spot for a spring or summer day. The staff is very friendly, and restaurant has a lot of ambiance. Definitely a great place for visitors and locals. More...
i literally have never had a bad meal here. everything i order is delicious! make sure to ask about their daily specials - their pancakes are out of this world! i took my friend here and she returned 2x in that same week with other people she loved it so much. More...
They are great. Good food and awesome servers.
Busy brunch spot with a variety of options on their rotating menu. Suitable for special dietary needs (vegan, gluten-free), but also offers favorites like burritos bursting with meat and veggies. Their coffee drinks are delightful and the shakes are good. Recently updated my review to a fifth star because the waitstaff (management included) has stepped it up lately. More...
Food was good. They need to get rid of a few tables. It's way too crowded! I felt claustrophobic.
Great atmosphere. Nice pancakes and fries.Very good service.Nice people.
Great food and service. Everything is fresh. Good coffee too.
An amazing and accepting cafe. The cafe has a modern and almost nature like atmosphere. They serve many foods accepting of people's diets like gluten free and vegetarian/vegan. They also serve wacky drinks that I imagine would be awesome. More...
Always a nice place to relax and enjoy a good meal in pleasant surroundings.
Wonderful breakfast spot! Delicious and quick!
Good food and service! A little pricey!
Our fav for breakfast! Food great as is the service.
The food here is so good. Great place to go if you're looking to brunch (especially if it's nice outside since they have outdoor seating). The chorizo bowl is exceptionally good and something different you can give a try. Also consider their coffee shakes because they're worth the million tons of sugar they probably have 100%. More...
Great brunch options
Food is amazing and well worth the wait. Brunch crowd on weekends usually means around a 25-30 minute wait to be seated. Bottomless Kiva Han coffee is amazing, and they have bar seating which is great if you're alone. More...
An incredibly popular spot with an insanely diverse and delicious menu. The place often has a line outside for people waiting for a seat in an establishment which is fairly sizeable. The menu has regular staples but also changes with the seasons. Be sure to check out the specials board and if you really like then you can get delivery. More...
Up watching the cooking channel 1-11-18 am. Pancake look crazy iam for them.

Legit for Vegans, jackfruit bowl is the way to go
Good food, very friendly staff. Tables are a bit too close together, but I got over it pretty quickly.
Delicious and fresh!
Popular for a reason - the food is great! Costs just a little more than some alternatives, but everything our party of 7 ordered was delicious, and they're great at meeting dietary needs. They even had several good vegan options, and dietary codes on the menu. Server was friendly and refilled coffee quickly even though the place was packed. More...
My favorite breakfast place!!!
Square cafe is really cute and has some good food at some really fair prices. The only issue is that they really pack people in there, so you're pretty much rubbing elbows with your neighbor. Other than that, I had a great time there. Good coffee, too, which is surprising from a diner. More...
Amazing service, great pancakes, friendly staff took the time to tell us about the area.
Pleasant atmosphere with satisfying gluten free choices.
Good food. A couple buck more than Denny's but vastly better
Awesome food and lovely outdoor seating.
I would eat here every day if I could. The wait can be a thing if you aren’t prepared. The food is delicious and the coffee is served in the best mugs ever. Lots of vegetarian options! We love the lemon ricotta pancakes and they always have some crazy good special! More...
New menu this week-very impressive! I had the new Brussels Sprouts bowl and it was amazing. Pancakes got rave reviews from our table and everyone loved the coffee and unique mugs. Fun and funky restaurant, highly recommend! More...
The best! Always!
Good, uniquely Pittsburgh, breakfast and lunch. Great options for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free.
Wonderful cooking. Very consistent quality. Great for mixed marriages (vegans and carnivores).
Square Cafe never fails to deliver. The food is great, the servers are friendly, and the coffee is always fresh. Only problem is finding parking and having to wait on weekends because everyone else loves Square as much as I do.
Always great food. A good place to take your kids to - we will always go back here!
Great services, great food and great prices
Food was good, even looking around at other tables, the quality seemed consistent. Bright and colorful inside, but not much wiggle room when there's a full house.
