The Chocolate Works Care Village is an amazing place. It's an incredible transformation of an almost derelict building into a care home that frankly most of us would like to live in now, never mind in our old age. The CEO of the company responsible for the development, who I know personally (and have worked with in recent months on a number of projects including this one), has turned an awe-inspiring vision of quality care in the heart of the community into a reality. There are so many elements that make this place amazing - there's an "outdoors-inside" marketplace complete with street lamps and real trees, cafe, restaurant, pub, gym, hairdressing salon and spa area. But let's be honest, all of these mean very little without great care from a great team. The general manager here is an absolute gem and her team work really hard to give care that is the absolute best. My father is staying here and it’s more like a 5 star hotel than a care home. The decor is tasteful and everything is in keeping with the Art Deco period. The staff are fantastic and show care and respect to all the residents. I am confident that my dad is well looked after and that maintaining quality of life is at the heart of the values of this place. More...
