My first business, was my family's business. My father sold everything that he had and purchased a marina on Ft. Myers Beach, Florida when I was a teenager. My whole family worked 7 days a week doing everything that needed to be done. I learned that you have to work hard and sometimes make sacrifices, but it is worth it when you can be proud what you have built. I also learned that you can't do everything yourself, sometimes you need to utilize those that have expertise that you don't have to be successful. My Dad could run the Marina, but didn't have the expertise to prepare tax returns or to know what he should be doing to grow his business. When he worked with those that did, he was more successful and made more money.
