Great craft beer and awesome prices!
Great beer and great food, what more can you ask for
Great food and service. Would have gone to the Weighbridge but heard really bad reports recently. Red Lion now our 'go to' place!:
We have been coming to this pub for a number of years, we were one of the 1st people to book room 2 a very long time ago. We have seen different owners and now the additional brewing company. Even though we have moved to Cardross in the argyle and Bute Scotland we still visit when we can. The food is excellent, they have a great range of beer and cider and the accommodation is 2nd to none. I have many wonderful memories through out the years. Today we checked in and went to order food after a 379 miles trip to be told that we had missed the food by 2 mins! There were no flexibility at all. I know that when you’re shut then that is it... but I feel like we make the effort to come to the Red Lion we recommend it to all friends so it was like a bit of a let down when we ordered our drink no one ask if we wanted food to let us know it finished at 1430... just feel a bit gutted. Love the decor and the fire place. Food is amazing and brew their own beer.
Compliments to the chef! Superb evening meal last night with good wine. Service was excellent too.
Brilliant dog friendly pub. Would definitely visit again
Great pub, friendly staff, smashing garden, very dog friendly and great beer. Haven't eaten here yet but going to as menu looks lovely.
Only spent one night there but enjoyed our stay immensely. We were made welcome from the off. The bedroom was spacious, clean, and well provisioned. The bathroom was huge! Plumbing was a little iffy, trying to get cold water was fun, but didn't mar our stay. The restaurant was clean, the service excellent and the food was to die for. We had the flat iron steaks which were perfection, so much so I couldn't eat all my chips (unheard of, for me!) More...
Probably my favourite pub in the world, when I get the chance to visit; which I do for every beer festival they do. Please do another Autumn Festival just because waiting 6 months between this most wonderful excuse is too much!

Delicious food and great service
Great choice of food. I had the burger and triple cooked chips. My other half said his scotch egg was the best he had ever tasted. Lovely staff. Perfect pub lunch
Lovely pub in a lovely place very friendly also dog friendly which is a plus and the bar staff can't do enough for its customers
Love this pub, great selection of real ales and a warm welcome
Hoomans took me here after a 4 hour walk, great staff, gave me lots of fuss and even a doggy treat. Other four legged friends in here and open fire was inviting. Worth a stop after a nice walk. #dogfriendlypub #cricklade More...
Sunday lunch yesterday was delicious, we will definitely return.
Fabulous meal, mushrooms with sour dough toast then mussels braised in cider with bread and fries, thank you
We had an absolutely amazing meal here this evening. Food was delicious and service was fantastic. This was our first visit and certainly won't be our last!
Five stars establishment!
We visited last night for a meal as there is now a new chef. The food was amazing, truly one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. If you’re an ale person the selection is great as well. Would highly to recommend to people who want a lovely night out with truly great food!! More...

Lovely, dog friendly pub with a huge roaring log fire to welcome you in. Great food and friendly staff. Shame there is no car park ...
Dog friendly, lovely food, great service, handy for Thames walkers - just wish we lived closer!
A really lovely pub in a lovely village. Great selection of in house beers and others. Friendly staff. I wish we could have stayed to eat as the menu was very tempting. For beer lovers, cosy pub lovers, and dog owners (they have doggie treats) no trip to this area would be complete without a visit - or three! More...

A classic pub to truly enjoy. The food is amazing.
Lovely pub with a lovely atmosphere and fab food! Lack of parking is a shame as I felt like I had to almost abandon my car down a side street, which didn't feel comfortable! I know that it's not their fault, but it makes me less likely to be a frequent visitor. But can't wait to visit again sometime in the future! More...
Had nice spacious room and filter coffee, big plus. Loved the beers and good food too. Def would use again. Only downside was lack of parking.
Very friendly pub, dogs were allowed as well which is a big plus.
Amazing woodfired pizza and craft beer. Large outdoor garden with lots of space. Dog friendly, great staff.
A lovely experience, very good lunch of haddock and chips, excellent ales and an unusual gin to finish. Intend to revisit at some stage.
Excellent starter and great piece of steak, very good meal, been before and will be back.
Excellent quality lunch, friendly staff. Will definitely revisit.
Good food good beer and situated right on the Thames Path , perfect
Typical, nice English pub. Good beer and food and friendly staff.
Great boozer , pleasant staff , good food and fantastic beer .
Very nice little pub/restaurant. Not too big and a distinct lack of parking, not just at the pub but in the whole village. The menus where up on the wall which meant having to all get up to go to the bar to order and stare at the people eating under the menus to choose your food. A simple photocopy on each table may have worked better. Good food, well presented and a good price. Marvellous washrooms. This is an ideal stop off away from the busy main road. More...

Awesome food and a lovely beer garden to enjoy it in! :-)
Really nice pub!! We went with 3 young kids and the staff were nice and friendly(something the other pubs in the area lack) it has a beautiful big safe garden, plenty of room for kids to play. The food was excellent, a culinary twist on traditional pub food..i will definitely be going again. More...
Ace burger and triple fried chips
Miss this place so much. Delightful and doggy friendly
Loved it. Food was brilliant, especially the puds; very welcoming with a great atmosphere. Love the fact you can bring dogs in! Beer also very, very good if you're a real ale fan. More...
It's a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very friendly, polite and approachable. They didn't rush you and force the bill in your hand as soon as you'd finished. The food was cooked to perfection, it was delicious and looked pleasing on the plate. I would recommend the Red Lion at Cricklade to anyone wanting a pleasant and enjoyable meal or just an afternoon/ evening socialising. More...
We have been using the Red Lion now for several years. In that time we have had no cause for complain or even grumble. Their food is always imaginative, tasty and hot. Sunday Roasts are my particular favorite, the Joints are always melt in the mouth and served with a selection of locally sourced veg, red cabbage is not on my favorites list and if there is one thing that I personally would change, it would be to have the vegetables served in a separate dish so that the juices from the red cabbage in my case would not interfere with the lovely gravy, rather than have them plated with the meat. The beer, well what can one say about the beer. A large quantity of the huge selection is brewed on site in the Hop Back Brewery that can be viewed through the large glass panel front in what I think may have been a stable where the horses have now given way to the brewery. North Wall , Cob Bitter and Cricklade Pale Ale were the heavy hitters for the home team yesterday. There are quite a few beers from rival breweries all in my opinion knocked into a cocked hat by the home team. My friend (another avid Hop Back fan) and my self were left completely unsupervised yesterday afternoon by my long suffering wife and we had a lovely time dodging backwards and forwards along the pumps like two little boys in a sweetshop, along with this I have to commend the patience of the staff and at one point the brewer (boss) himself. Thank you all for a lovely afternoon. Not the first and certainly not the last. More...
Amazing people , great food , thank you Tom !!
Brilliant service, friendly and attentive team. Catered well for dietary needs. Food was amazing..... clean plates all round!
They brew ales on the premises which are excellent, the food is lovely and the service is friendly and efficient. it's a lovely old fashioned pub which I wish was closer to home. The best bit however is the lovely log fire, oh and dogs are made welcome More...
You cannot pass by Cricklade, or indeed the entire south of England without stopping here! A dozen great real ales, great food, and the most professional of all staff! A PROPER pub!
Beautiful pub with a great atmosphere. Very nice food and even better by the Fire
Great food and drink with lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff.
Top notch. Food was excellent, staff very attentive and friendly. A great range of real ales to choose from. Got through most of them, only to be disrupted by the arrival of the taxi. Never mind, always next time. :-)
One of the best meals I've had in a long time. Recommend it to anyone
Friendly staff, great food and one of our favourite pubs to be in.
Brilliant beer good food and great service. A family favourite
Lovely pub, staff friendly, dog friendly, good beer, good food, large gin list, large garden. Everyone should have a local like this.
Excellent hearty high quality food, warm and friendly staff, good service, just what we needed after a long walk and we could even bring the dog in!
First timers and loved it the food was outstanding
I had an amazing evening to celebrate my granddaughter's 18th birthday, the food was excellent with friendly staff, a most enjoyable evening was had by all the family.
Attended the Autumn fruit beer festival on Friday and thoroughly enjoyed myself. A great range of unique beers. This is my second Red Lion festival visit after the summer one I am sure I will be attending more in the future.
Worked here over 40 years ago.. "Drank more than I earned"
Good food. Polite and helpful staff. Thanks.
Absolutely fantastic food. Locally sourced and brilliantly cooked.
We visited last Wednesday, I ate the best Cheeseburger I've ever tasted and everyone else's meal was excellent. We loved the beer which was brewed on the presimises. We'll be back!
Absolutely brilliant pub, hotel and restaurant. If you like decent beer then the beer brewed on-site is top class, there are other local brews to try plus ciders and more gin than you can shake a stick at. The Red Lion doesn't have many rooms but they are excellent and the best pillows to sleep on I have found in any hotel, on suite facilities are excellent. If you decide to stay make sure to book a table in the restaurant the food there is amazing, triple cooked chips hmmmmmmmmmmmmm and after that back to the atmospheric bar to sample more brewing delights. Great food, great ales, great people, great atmosphere
Such a great pub, with lovely staff and friendly atmosphere!
The best burger I have ever eaten was at The Red Lion last night. Absolutely delicious.
Outstanding pub food and great beers. They have their own Hop Kettle micro brewery and these are all very good. Food is certainly not cheap, but you will not be disappointed. We had the burger (amazing flavour and triple cooked chips to die for), Ham, eggs and chips, and bubble and squeak and a BLT, all were stunningly good. Lovely atmosphere and traditional decor. We had lunch here yesterday. These guys really know how to excel in every area - doing justice to the prominent heritage of the place. Food was excellent and reasonably priced, with such an original and varied menu. Beer was spot on - they even offered 2/3 pint measures. The gents behind the bar were curtous and efficient - even when the place began to fill up fast. Im sadly unlikely to go back soon as i live in Scotland, but it deserves a great review!! Keep it up folks! More...
Cracking burger AND Jaipur X on tap! Sonic Boom!!!
