What do you love most about your job?
That I'm allowed to put my creativity first. Having been in the world of retail for over 20 years, it was pretty black and white how the job was. Although I held many positions, my creativity was very limited. Once I was laid off is when I truly learned who I was and what I was meant to do. It's like all these lights woke up within me and said, "It's Go Time!" I have amazed myself with some of the things I have accomplished, not knowing I had the potential to do so. I love it. Working with the teen ladies has been an awesome experience. Having 2 sons, I'm a pro with typical boy interested parties. So it has been wonderful being able shape the confidence of young women. Very enjoyable.
What inspired you to start your own business?
After being laid off, I was devastated. At that point I was a payroll coordinator and I was good at it., Something I thought that was the worst thing in the world, turned out to be the best thing in the world. So although nothing inspired the start, I was just doing everything I could to bring in an income. What happened, is something was inspired from there. And each event, each customer or each teen lady who's inspired, that's it , I'm in, then I am inspired with another inspiration that will add to this amazing career, that was unplanned but meant to be.
Why should our clients choose you?
That's a hard question because there is some awesome and more experienced event planners out there who have years on me. I'm going into my 4th year (almost 1 year under my company name)- and I can tell you if you choose me, that I'm in all the way. The number one thing I learned in all my positions in retail is this: listening is key. There's a difference between hearing someone and listening to someone. I want my clients to tell me their vision of the special day. I want to listen to every last detail, My process is going home and replaying every word in my mind, over and over. I am not afraid to tell you I can't to do something and you'd know that up front. Things can go the other direction and not as planned. I am not afraid of the challenge of finding the next best solution on a time crunch. My heart and mind is to plan this as if I were you.
