This is not your ordinary greenhouse/garden center. It is laid out in a park-like setting and filled with plants you won't find anywhere else. I was hoping to find natives that attract bees and butterflies as well as unusual heirloom tomatoes. Mission Accomplished! One of the staff suggested swamp milkweed which I planted in late May. They are already huge and hosting 4 Monarch caterpillars. I was not expecting success this soon. My heirloom tomatoes are thriving and I am eager to try a paste tomato I've never heard of before. The staff is well-versed in plant varieties and care and very generous with help. If you enjoy exploring unusual varieties or want to expand into natives to help out our pollinators, this is worth the trip. More...
