Everyone that works for Special Occasions has been so accommodating. They worked with our budget and made a great meal plan. The tasting was relaxed and fun. They have gone above and beyond to answer all our questions and adjust to the ever-increasing guest list. Really great people work here and make really delicious food. In addition to the food, they are coordinating the beverage service and linens as part of their service which takes two more things off my plate. When it comes to picking a caterer, we couldn't be happier with the service we received from Brian and his team. It's unusual that so many companies wouldn't be flexible when it came to a tasting before signing a contract or putting money down. For the Special Occasions team, one could tell they were confident with the quality of their food. From the initial tasting we could already tell Brian was passionate about what he does. Right off the bat he was accommodating and open to questions. The food matched what we were given during the tasting; salmon still juicy, rice pilaf seasoned and fresh, etc. It's a great experience when what you try is what you get on the big day. After choosing our menu the rest was pretty easy. Despite being busy with other events Brian still did his very best to keep in contact with us and his team also assisted with any questions we had, up until the day of the event. Wedding day comes and we had the pleasure of a whole staff (plus Brian) come to set up and help us with last minute needs. They took care of our family and friends, made sure things were cleaned up, and one great gentleman even joined in and started dancing during the Cupid Shuffle. You have a great group of people passionate about food, service and having a good time during for what many consider a stressful yet fun day. I would definitely use Special Occasions Catering again! Brian and his staff did an excellent job...from the planning stages through event tear down. He was very accommodating and flexible. And, the food was excellent! We used him for our mom's Celebration of Life. He helped manage costs and talked us off the ledge at the last minute when we were panicking about quantities. Brian was amazing to work with from the very beginning. It was difficult finding someone to cater on Whidbey Island with many vendors having obligations booked years in advance. Brian was willing to work with us and travel to the island with no concerns or complaints. I received several compliments on how great the food was and the staff was more than accommodating during our wedding. The food was good, too bad it was 45 minutes early for the drop off. We ended up eating cold food. Also, the lack of timely communication leaves something to be desired.

Brian and his staff did an excellent job catering our wedding this past June! They made a beautiful fruit tier and the food was amazing. I got numerous compliments from my guests! Brian and his staff are such an amazing team! They help with set up and clean up. Everything looks amazing once set up all the with nice touches. They have lots of colors to pick from on linens! The food was absolutely delicious we did not have one complaint. Everyone said it was the best buffet style food they had ever had. I must say I am very impressed and appreciate the amazing service and food that you just provided tonight for Seattle Hill Elementarys Auction at our venue. I hired Special Occasions Catering for the first time last weekend, but I have experienced their food and service at past events held by friends.  They came highly recommended, and definitely delivered.  All of our guests raved about the food (especially the salmon) and even asked for their contact info so they could hire them for future events.  The staff is also extremely friendly.  I have absolutely NO complaints what so ever.The only other thing I'll add is, don't street appraise their store front.  They are located on Aurora and are surrounded by some we'll just say "interesting" businesses.  But don't be deterred.  Just go in and ask to speak to Brian and you won't be disappointed.  We will definitely use them for years to come!!! Special Occasions Catering was the best. I was afraid that although the food was fantastic at the tasting, when it came down to making it for 125 people, things could not be as great.  Everyone raved about the food!  Besides being delicious (great chef), Brian (the owner) was professional and worked with our budget.  We decided on a fruit tree as the center of the buffet line and it was just amazing!They also had a team of servers that were amazing and made sure all of our guests were well taken care of. Brian stayed to the end cleaning up and the venue said they have never seen such a clean kitchen when finished.I would highly recommend them to anyone having either a large or small gathering and need some delicious food and outstanding service.
