I've been going to sfc/sdc since it opened at its old location and love it. You can work out at any level in a group setting so it is more fun. The employees and members have become like family to me. I highly recommend it. More...

We absolutely LOVE Spartan Dance and Fit! We couldn't be more pleased with the caliber of instructors, the kindness of the staff, and the range of offerings they provide - both in classes and in amenities. Even the tiniest dancers learn great choreography along with the fundamentals, something we had seriously lacked in our small town studio. SDFC was a refreshing and exciting change for us, and we recommend it every opportunity we get! More...

Spartan Dance center not only provides great dance instruction to my daughter, but the friends, the staff, the support, encouragement is nothing like we have ever experienced. When they told me they are a family, they sure meant it. The experiences they have given to my daughter has pushed her in her growth in dance! My daughter has grown leaps and bounds in her dance with these amazing people and I am truly proud to be a part of this amazing family More...

My husband and I are happy to have found an exceptional dance center in our area. The instructors truly love what they do. The owners Tiffany and Rob Russell are wonderful and treat these children like one of their own. Our daughter has been taking classes at Spartan Dance Center for 2 years. Her growth and knowledge of dance has come for the SDC team. She loves going to classes, always comes home happy and looks forward to her next class. More...

My daughter has been dancing for five years, three of those with Spartan Dance Center. She couldn't be more happy. My child loves to attend all her classes, and comes home craving more. The owners Tiffany and Rob Russell are the best. They truly have a "Family Atmosphere" of dancers who all support each other as well as the parents. Spartan Dance Center has award winning teachers, and all company dancers excel in all competitions. My daughter is learning proper technique and entertaining choreography that displays her skills and poise. I can't tell you enough how this studio and teachers has boosted my daughters self esteem, which I am so thankful for. She is now on the Company Team, and I couldn't be more proud and in awe of all that she has learned in such a short time. We love their summer camps, which gives us a chance to try a different classes to prepare for Fall classes. I'm lucky! My daughter is lucky! We are both lucky to have found Spartan Dance Center for our family. I wish I could give them 10 stars!!!!!!!!!! More...

As a first year member of Spartan Dance Center and a senior in high school who has danced for over ten years, I can honestly say that I am so happy to have joined this studio. From the very first step I took inside the studio, I was welcomed with open arms. When I expressed interest in taking classes I was shown a team dance that would be performing locally at a Lansing Lugnuts baseball game and I was invited to attend. After seeing the evident talent, I knew Spartan Dance Center was the place for me. In the fall, I began taking classes under the direction of Leah Seery who both challenged and encouraged me to continue to thrive. I walk out of each and every class satisfied with the work and knowledge I am gaining thanks to Leah and Tiffany. Every time I step into the studio, I am greeted with smiles and enthusiasm which is one of the many reasons I am so happy I found SDC. I honestly could not imagine spending my last year of studio dancing anywhere else. Thank you Tiffany Russell for all you have done and continue to do for not only me but everyone at the studio. I am proud to be a part of the Spartan Dance Center family! More...

My children have been attending classes at Spartan Dance Center for 2 years now. I have been very pleased with their growth as dancers-previously they had no dance experience. My children have enjoyed their instructors and feel "at home" at the studio. I have seen my eldest child's self-confidence grow since becoming a student here. My younger child seems to lover her acro class. The instructors do a great job working with the dancers-critiquing as needed in a gentle manner while being firm when necessary. Spartan Dance Center has been a positive environment for my children and there are several different styles of dance classes offered; the children seem to have fun while learning to dance and seem to enjoy the classes and their instructors. I feel that, at Spartan Dance Center, it's not "just" a dance center...it's more...it's FAMILY. More...

My son has been dancing with SDC since he was 6-years-old. He began one summer with a groupon purchase for a BBOY camp. BBOY is breakdancing. We are a musical/musician family so we embrace the arts. He was exposed to music at an early age and naturally began moving his body along with what he heard. This camp was a great opportunity for that outlet. His enjoyment was no surprise. The fall immeidatley following summer camp, he auditioned to become part of the first boy competitive group at the studio, and began taking classes weekly. We are now 3 years into the venture and my son is going to be 10-years-old this year. The program for boys is unlike any other locally. My son has been dancing with the same boys for 3 years and every year the group grows. We did choose the competitive dancing, but his participation has inspired a boy from his school and a son of a friend, to take classes at SDC, non-competitive. Their performance will take place at the annual end-of-year recital and they will have spent their 9 months learning to dance. From both of those families, their sons are happy and thriving! Competitive or not, there are very few options for boys who are interested in dancing. SDC has well-established boy program. The BBOY team has won more awards than I can count and command attention while on stage. They are like a mini boy band, you just can't help but love them :) They are paving a path for other boys.I cannot imagine our lives without dance!Weekly, my son takes classes in technique, hip hop, bboy, and with his competitive groups. There are many classes to choose from and the instructors will help place your child where they are most interested and where their skills can be nurtured. The instructors at SDC are some of the best in their area. They are so dedicated to what they do and it shows. The kids love them and they love the kids. During the summer, there are camps for all. I highly recommend dancers participation as it keeps their skills strong and they have a lot of fun.Since my son competes, the SDC team gets to perform at a Lansing Lugnuts game which is coupled with a night of family fun. His team also travels to an international dance intensive in Chicago, where the dancing ranges from tap, jazz, ballet to even Bollywood! In the fall, our team is always invited to march in the MSU Homecoming parade which is always such a fun teambuilding event. We have also performed in East Lansing community fitness events, charity fundraising events, MSU sports events, we have tailgated at MSU games and many others. All of these elements have enhanced my son's dance techinique and skill.. The time and rehearsal these dancers put forth is easily comparable and beyond any sport. Life lessons are being learned. My son is a reserved and mild mannered person. He takes direction well, understands choreography, his self-esteem is unquestionably solid. He understands hard work and the reaping of benefits. He has thrived and grown as a person and performer. Dance is such a positive environment. Movement and health are a natural result of participation, habits that need to begin early for a healthful life. The kids have formed friendships and come from all over the area. We 'commute' from the Eaton Rapids area and my son now has friends at several local schools. The parents of the dancers have also become a family and we have developed friendships as well. We function as a family unit. To me, there is no better way to be involved in my child's activities. I firmly plant the seeds of gender neutrality in all aspects of life. I think it is important for children not to be bound or swayed by their gender. Generally, dance is thought of as being for girls, it is for all. Children should be able to explore their interests, period. My son's upbringing through dance is a beautiful thing. He still plays football and he plays the trumpet in band. He is also a dancer. Our children have attended Spartan Dance since 2011. The instructors and staff are absolutely the best in the area! Their classes are more affordable than other studios in town and the owners stress a family atmosphere for our children.
