Both my daughters (15 & 18) and myself have been learning Spanish with Fernando for over 5 years now. Fernando is a native Spanish speaker who makes learning Spanish fun and in a relaxed environment. His tutoring has proved valuable and worthwhile for consolidating and improving knowledge for my daughters’ GCSE and A level courses and, for me, just conversational Spanish. Fernando is an excellent teacher, very patient and always willing to go back over things until you get it, and as a native spanish speaker who has learnt english has a good understanding of the learning process which really shows. while his lessons are relaxed and informal, they do follow a structure which really helps you get a grasp of the language. I started having lessons 4 years ago with Fernando, I had lessons for a couple of years before and although I knew some grammar, I was unable to have a conversation in Spanish. Fernando is an amazing teacher who adapts his lessons to build confidence by working on a pupils strengths.

My son wished to take GCSE Spanish as the school were not running the course that year. Fernando was brilliant working with school regarding curriculum and assessments whilst teaching my son in a way that allowed him to achieve a much higher level of conversational Spanish.

You couldn't ask for a better teacher. Fernando has managed to teach myself and partner spanish (he deserves a medal!!!). Starting out not knowing a word in spanish, a year down the line he now has us both fully understanding it . He makes lessons enjoyable and fun, and is very patient with us. His method of teaching works so much better than the way they teach you at school. He is fun, unlike your usual tutors, you don't feel under pressure when you get something wrong. I had lessons with Fernando for about three years. He is an excellent teacher, fun, friendly and has a calm manner with lots of patience! I enjoyed my lessons with Fernando and now have a good basic knowledge of Spanish which will remain with me always.
As well as spending time learning the grammar, Fernando ensures that what we learn we apply to speaking the language so that we build up confidence to converse with others when we are in a Spanish speaking country.
