DO NOT HIRE THIS VENDOR! He doesn't return calls or emails, we had zero confidence in his ability to perform so we just hired another DJ.
Of course, we still have not received our refund and don't plan on getting it back.
Just save yourself the headache and go with another vendor that won't just steal your money.

I am so disappointed to leave a negative vendor review but I feel the need to warn people against Brett with Southern Style Entertainment.
Here is a list of my major complaints from the day:
1. Started the day by forgetting a speaker system at home — consequently, there wasn’t music during cocktail hour. He came into my bridal suite and told me 20 mins before I walked down the aisle. I previously gave him the coordinator and venue manager’s numbers with instructions to not contact me during the day
2. PLAYED THE WRONG SONG for me to walk down the aisle to even though I was very specific and communicative of which song and specific part of the song I wanted (gave time to fade in , what time the doors will open, what time I will walk down the aisle, and what time to fade out so music was still playing when my dad returned to his seat). He stopped the song very abruptly and awkwardly before I even reached the end of the aisle
3. Gave specific instructions on when to begin our recessional song (queue from the officiant and part of song). Did not follow this preference
4. We specifically asked the DJ to announce for our guests to please gather around the dance floor for our first dance. He didn’t and our dance was choreographed for a crowd to be around us
5. I was also very specific and communicative on the timing I wanted for our first dance song. After his mistake with me walking down the aisle, I had my coordinator double check that he was going to play the correct portion. He claimed he “didn’t know” and was going to play whatever he wanted if we didn’t double check at the last minute.
6. Had us step to the front of our reception hall after the toasts and made a very awkward, unscripted speech about us, a couple he never met before our wedding day. We and our guests were very uncomfortable
7. Didn’t play more than 5 songs on our must-play list for the dance portion of the night. Played 4 slow dances in a row even though the dance floor was completely empty by the end of the second song
8. I asked for some songs to be played at a specific time during the night (birthday song for my husband and a drinking game). I communicated the specific times of when these songs were supposed to be played… you can imagine the awkwardness and my disappointment when these instructions weren’t followed
9. Made several of my underage sisters/bridesmaids very uncomfortable. He was overwhelmingly described as “creepy” and rude by our guests
10. Interrupted me several times while I was on the dance floor to ask how he was doing. While I appreciate the opportunity to give feedback, this was inappropriate especially given my request to not contact me during the day
11. Didn’t bring an extension cord for the cold sparklers for our exit. He interrupted me on the dance floor before the last song of the night to ask me what I wanted him to do
12. I decided not to tip him due to his poor execution and communicated this to my coordinator. Brett followed my dad around after the wedding asking 3+ times if my dad had anything for him. Eventually, my dad was so fed up with the rude interruptions that he ended up tipping Brett
I do not recommend Southern Style Entertainment to anyone. Please reconsider if you already booked Brett. We would have been much better off playing a Spotify playlist.

The first dance MUST be on the Cloud! Brett was able to help my nerd daughter with just the right processional music which was anime and video game related. Southern style entertainment went above and beyond for our wedding! They were always there to answer any of my questions and we’re always helpful. Trey was our DJ and was absolutely amazing. Ramon (I believe that was his name) with the photo booth had so much energy and was so upbeat, everybody loved him. Brett was AMAZING! The questionnaire/info he had us fill out before the wedding gave us the opportunity to let him know what kind of music we did/did not want. He then called me the week of the wedding to go over it. The music at the wedding was exactly what we wanted not to mention Brett added his own humor and made sure the wedding was following our timeline. He even made my husband dance up to me before taking off the garter which had everybody dying laughing!! He even has this beautiful cloud we got to dance in during our first dance. He also used the cloud during the 'Wobble' so other people could dance in it too which they loved, especially the Ring Bearer and Flower Girl! First off, I would like to say how amazing this couple is at communication. Because we all know that's what it takes during the endless planning of a wedding. Brett and Stephanie were ALWAYS in touch either by email or calling to let us know ideas for things. We had a different type of entrance down the aisle *planned* but didn't know exactly how it was going to work because no one knew about it but the 4 of us. It was a surprise for EVERYONE! Brett came up with THE MOST INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE EVER FOR OUR ENTIRE GUESTS!!! They STILL mention it to us every time I see them! They all say, It was THE BEST WEDDING THEY HAVE EVER BEEN TO BY FAR! (Which I love). I was trying to incorporate my Dad (who has passed) into *walking me down the aisle* somehow. My other friends are a part of The 501st Star Wars charity organization and wanted to be a special part of the surprise too. So Brett came up with an amazing, uniquely customized, very personal entrance for us and incorporated everything we wanted and more!!! It's a memory of a lifetime for us and everyone who attended...for sure!!! Brett and his staff went above and beyond on the day of our wedding. From Day one in the planning process to our exit the night of our wedding, Brett was there every step of the way making sure everything went as planned and helping in any way he could. He was more than just a DJ and truly made sure we were happy with everything and that the party kept going. The Photo Booth was a HUGE hit. Brett Martin was energetic and wonderful to work with. He was happy to meet all of our needs/wants even when we couldn't give a definitive answer and colors here and there he was patient.
