I am a professional photographer, and photograph families, pets,portraits, head shots and events. I also have experience in interior design photography. I am not studio based, but have the ability to set up a mobile studio at your home if required.

Sophie was so patient with my cats when she came to do their photos. It was crazy as my youngest cat was only 8 weeks and was zooming all over the place but she managed to get some amazing shots by using toys to help focus him. Would highly recommend her.

Sophie came to my home and spent time playing with and getting to know my dogs before photographing them , she took the stunning pic ( in her portfolio ) of my beautiful boy who had aggressive cancer , photographing black dogs against a black background is notoriously difficult but Sophie managed to pull it off , she also took the beautiful informal pic of my other dog ,red setter X , chilling on the sofa. I am so pleased with the pictures Sophie took of my cats. This was probably far from being an easy shoot for her, Frankie the Siamese was her usual calm well behaved self throughout the afternoon.
However, Nelson the Oriental was a total hooligan the entire time, knocking over the backdrop, running around like a lunatic and jumping on his more compliant sister. Yet despite his best efforts to sabotage the session Sophie managed to take some wonderful shots of them, and has actually perfectly captured their personalities. She even managed to get a few pictures in which Nelson looks rather serene, and that took some doing. And more than a little patience.
I cannot recommend Sophie enough, thank you for a funny afternoon and some amazing pictures.

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
I have learnt to assess the light in any situation, how much, where it is coming from, where does it fall...and to me that is the secret to taking a great photo, and can be the difference between a snap shot and a more considered image. I also think loving what you do and connecting with your subject is absolutely vital, as this will bring life to a photograph.
