The cakes and goodies at this bakery are really very good, creative and tasty. Expensive, but seemed to be well worth it..
........... I would have highly recommended them until today.
They are featuring on their online ordering site, under the heading of Christmas items, gingerbread men in the act of sodomy. They had a link from their FB page to the order page. When I noted on their website that this was inappropriate I was promptly and immediately had it made clear that she (Maddie Lu) was not the least religious and I was entitled to my opinion but should not force that on anyone else. Really? Sodomy cookies featured (First time on page) to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. The hypocrisy is overwhelming. You don't believe in Jesus Christ, but you are very happy to make money off those who celebrate Him. I am disgusted with this place and I will never spend a dime of my money in there again. There are many wonderful bakeries in Anoka County, that at least won't take your money while showing their vile and soulless feelings about Christmas.

I wanted to find a place that had a more fun quality to their cupcakes than just some boring store bought 12 pack. I found Something Sweet through a mutual friend and she made the PERFECT suggestion! I couldn't be happier for the fact that this was so convenient and all their cupcake flavors were too good to pick just 12. I ended up getting one of every flavor which was about 15/16. I brought them home and my family loved them, perfect amount of everything from flavor to buttercream. I will definitely go back and I heard they are bringing in some new flavors. So excited! More...

I got their unicorn cake and cupcakes that they had posted about for my daughters 6th birthday. They turned out perfect even better than I thought they would. The young lady who took the order was very patient with my daughter which I appreciated greatly because my daughter really felt involved with her cake. We went to Something Sweet for our wedding cake. It had four tiers. We were treated with such kindness! Our cake was detailed and we couldn't have been happier with how it looked and tasted on our wedding day! The buttercream was absolutely divine when we cut our cake! All of our family and friends commented on the taste and how beautiful our cake looked! A month before the wedding I sent Something Sweet a picture of a schnauzer and asked them if they could make him out fondant and have him next to the cake. Something Sweet did an AMAZING job with my wedding cake! I gave them a photo and they made my cake look even better than the photo! It was extremely tasty as well. First time I went there I was amazed to find that they have many gluten free and Vegan options, I came here right before my friends birthday party to pick up some sweets. The employee gave me a very nice welcoming as I walked into the store and seemed very happy to help me with what I needed. Everyone absolutely loved the cake! I can't resist a chocolate chip cookie dough shake from this place. Absolutely delicious and unique. The shakes are unlike any others I've had. . if you go there, you'll understand! The macarons are also great. I love them and I love having somewhere close by that I can go to get them. Have yet to try the cupcakes but that's next on the list! wonderful cupcakes family and i thoroughly enjoyed it we always love coming here and buying these cupcakes. the price may be a little high but its quite worth as the young man behind the counter left us with a wonderful experience and customer service who knew what he was talking about as he helped us choose our cupcakes. highly recommend coming back here and to others who have not. although the price is high for cupcakes it was still very good. keep up the good work as you continue on with this business. best of luck. We bought a Star Wars cake that was very awesome to look at. It was quite expensive but the birthday boy loved it! The actual cake part was great, and we got it layered with cookie dough which was sooooo good! The only reason I am giving this four stars is because of the frosting. The frosting was beautifully colored but most of it tasted like gross frosting dye and was inedible even to the kids. With that said, I will still likely purchase a cake there for our next party. I've always enjoyed my treats from Something Sweet, the cakes are light, fluffy, and full of great flavor, the frostings (most of them) are light, creamy, and fluffy and she offers great flavor options.
The only downside for me is the fillings aren't always that exciting and I'd personally prefer a few more vanilla cake options, but the decorations on them are great (I mean look at her cakes!) and the edible cookie dough is awesome! I happily drive out of my way here instead of to another local chain because it's just better.
The staff has also been very helpful in addressing allergy concerns for my fiance when we've gone, since he has some pretty serious ones as well.
