Local small bakery that has fresh bread, mochi donuts, pies, cakes, and so much more. Great and fair prices with quality products. Recently started doing mochi donuts, and they are always fresh and soft. They are famous for their piecaken, pie and cake together. Delicious and always a hit at any party. Recommend! More...

Super yum! I'm a sucker for sweets & this place delivered. I was so excited to find out that it's just down the street from my house so I no longer have to go far for some delish baked goods. My husband brought home the Mochi malasadas, blueberry/poppyseed scones, bacon/cheese scones, and mini lilikoi cheesecakes. The mochi malasadas and cheesecake was my favorite! I wish I didn't eat them so fast because now I don't have a picture to show.If you live near the aloha stadium then this place would make for a great place to stop and get some quick sweet treats. It would of be a five star for me if they would of still made their pizzas and sandwiches later in the day. I never went to Larry's Bakery when it was in this location, but in September 2017, Soleil D Hawaii moved into the former Larry's spot. I first learned of this bakery when a co-worker brought some treats from the new spot to the office for us to try. There was a good assortment of French pastries (macaroons and madeleines), but I was partial to the brownies (sold in little packs). They were moist, fudgy and chewy, just the way I like them. It was probably dangerous to find out that Soleil is right across of the Salt Lake Target I normally go to ... so, after this, I knew where I could get my brownie fix.Even though I knew about this bakery, I didn't actually stop in until three months later, closer to Christmas. The bakery had a large order to fill, so most of their shelves were empty during my visit ... even though it was still mid morning! But, I was able to find a few goodies that I liked--plus a BONUS that I absolutely loved.Takeaway: you never know what you'll find when you go to Soleil D Hawaii. Even if you leave without the goods you expect, you might just find something even better. Here's what I'd recommend:Piecaken: If this is available during your visit, get a slice, no questions asked. The Piecaken wasn't even advertised during my visit. I just saw it in the bakery display case and asked the owner what it was. The owner told me it was two pies baked within a cake - custard and pecan pies with a layer of chocolate cake on top. It was finished off with white chocolate shavings and bourbon cherries. I bought a slice--$5 for a massive piece of cake was a great deal--but the whole cake was available for sale as well. Words cannot adequately describe how much I loved this creation (and it was the first time I had heard of piecaken, too). I don't usually like custard, but its mellow flavors/textures balanced the whole concoction. I love the stickiness and richness of pecan pie, and this formed a solid base layer for the cake. I especially loved the thick pie crust. The chocolate cake (top layer) was moist (not dry), and I liked the delicate white chocolate shavings that topped the frosting. This combo was divine. Even though it was designed as a seasonal special, I hope the bakery has it all year long.Brownies (in display case): Brownies were not available in the little packages during my visit, but that was okay, since I found the individual-sized ones in the display case. As it turned out, I preferred the individual brownies. They seemed to be richer, more moist and dense, and I savored every bite. At around $3 each, they're reasonable for the size.Brownie Christmas Tree: Since Christmas was right around the corner of my visit, there were other seasonal goodies on sale, like Stollen, chocolate crinkle cookies, etc. But, this brownie baked in the shape of a Christmas tree caught my eye ... and I got the last one during my visit! It was a little more cake-like than the individual brownies in the display case, but festive and fun to eat nonetheless. It's always fun to see what seasonal goodies Soleil has! I can't wait to try some of their savory items (croissants, pastries and pizza) during my next visit. More...

My mom and I had a quick bite to eat today and let me tell you Fanny was just the sweetest.  At 12pm on a Tuesday, it wasn't too busy so my mom had a chance to talk story with her and learn where she's from and you can tell she's very passionate about this bakery.  If you have the chance talk with Fanny, she'll definitely make your experience at Soleil worth while.  I had a pesto turkey melt, it was nice and fresh, perfect size for a quick lunch.  I also tried the dobash cake and the creme brûlée pastry, which is in my opinion the perfect dessert if you like custard.   There are two shaded benches/tables right in front of the store to eat your food, each bench can seat about 6-8 people.  There was a slight breeze on this hot summer day so it was perfect to sit and enjoy our food.  For parking, you can parallel park along Lawehana Street or there is one designated stall on the side of the building that's marked "Larry's Bakery".  Friday's are $5 pizza, so I'll definitely be back to try other things from the menu! They have a variety of breads, a few pre-packaged cookie and other treats on the shelf, and other pastries and baked goods in the showcase, like tart, macarons, and pies (only 1 or 2 varieties - others have to be ordered. ..I wouldn't mind trying their chococlate mac nut). The creme brûlée pie is usually readily available. They also have a few sandwiches and wraps. I ordered the chicken avocado wrap...it was okay, but a little on the salty side. I also ordered a slice of banana bread. This was a little different than what I'm used to...maybe because it's more French style. I didn't really get the full banana flavor. More...

The chocolate cake is pretty tasty. It's more like a ganache cake rather with a fudge type frosting and filling. Strawberry cream cake was my least favorite. Canneils (I think that's what their called.  I had a sample of those little soft tart things... definitely didn't enjoy it. Well I feel like it's a chewy buttermochi style flan flavor. It was really weird. My number one favorite;LILIKOI CHEESECAKE.  All though the cream cheese isn't mixed well sometimes, ugh the flavor is on point. The freshness of the lilikoi topping. It's best to park at Target and walk over because there isn't much street parking available. The mochi cheese balls are delicious, but the blueberry scones are LIFE!I loved the Jasmine macaron. The Kona Coffee macaron is like eating a freshly baked Krispy Kreme original donut that has been dipped in Kona coffee, so take that description as you will. The tiramisu was light and well constructed, and they will apparently make it in larger sizes, so my husband will be back to get one for my birthday later this year *hint hint*. 5 star bcuz service was soo wonderful. I was greeted when i walked in. Since this is a fairly new bakery (in Larry's bakery old spot) and what seem to be French inspired I had no idea what half their products was so I asked alot of questions and the girl was happy to explain what it was called, made of and tasted similar to which helped alot. She even let me sample a few things. To be honest a few goodies I couldn't even pronounce I had her say it twice cuz it sounded so beautiful...those French words lol. I felt soo spoiled bcuz I didn't have to lift a finger everything I wanted she bagged for me. But they do have bags and tongs for each item. Fyi the frosting for the cinnamon rolls is  put on after you order it. Didn't get it but next time I'll try it.I got this what looked like a sugar donut on steroids, which I cant remember what the name was but she described it as having a malasada texture. Being Portuguese I said I'll take it, I had to try it and it was exactly what she said tasted like a fluffy malasada. They have a variety of canele at $2 each or 4 for $6. Kinda has a mochi middle I ordered a few of those and thought both was good but next time I might try the original.Madeleine is one of my favs. It's $5 a bag which later I thought was a little expensive bcuz there is only about 6 pieces in a bag. I found it to be a lil on the dry side. They also have macaroons, pies, breads, croissants a bunch of other things but what I enjoyed the most was their mochi balls. Yes they still have that 2 stalls Larry's used to have as well as a stall in front of their shop and if you can find street parking.Being my 1st visit and paying via credit card I later got an email with a $2 off my next purchase. Is this a bakery? That's the first thing I said the I stood outside the door.  I mean when I first found the place I believed it was the entrance to a warehouse.  Glad I went in. This place is small.  I'm sure the kitchen is pretty large with all the orders they take and food they bring out but as for the sales floor it's tiny.  A Matson shipping container is bigger. But don't sell this place short, flavor is enormous.   I've been here twice but each time about an hour till closing so the selection is limited but enough to make you think what you want.  And you got to think because it looks so good.  I'm ashamed to say the only French pasties I really enjoyed was when I was in Japan all those time.  My check in and carry on would be filled with all kinds of tasty morsels. They have the greatest desserts.  But luckily I can come here now.  The French bakers are really sweet and try to explain to me the diff offerings.  I know what a croissant is and e baguette but that's it.  I just buy, eat, and enjoy.  You should too. Overall four stars.  It's street parking along a curve road and the sign you can miss turning the corner.  But the food is exquis (that's French for delicious). ONE-LINE: Pizza Pizza Pizza (Especially on Fridays) and brioche!PIZZA:  I'm not sure what kind of pizza I got--it might have been a special.  It was like their Stadium but instead of ham, there was bacon and it had spinach. It was DELICIOUS.  I loved the hand tossed crust--its thin but it's not cracker thin, kind of chewy (this is my favorite kind).  It's filling--I could only eat half.  The tomato sauce was great!  They do a $5 Friday Pizza Special (all kinds)--they recommend calling ahead because they can get busy.  BAKERY:  The baked goods area isn't that big--there's a refrigerated case, shelves for pre-packaged goods (macarons, cookies, granola, brownie bites), two bakers racks with bread and pastries, and a showcase island in the middle but I thought it was perfect!  Enough choices to make it interesting but not too much to be indecisive.  I went for lunch and the majority of the bread was gone already but there was still a nice selection of pastries on the shelf and in the case.  I walked away with a pastry cream filled brioche and it is both beautiful and amazingly wonderful to eat. Like another Yelper mentioned, a lot of the baked goods are on display, open to the air, which normally you wouldn't think twice about but the doors to the street are wide open (no screen).  The storefront isn't directly on the street but its just something to note.  P.S.  The staff was really helpful and nice, very welcoming.  They have salads!  On their menu, they have a Soleil Salad thats topped with mac nuts and orange honey dressing--it sounds heavenly.  The baker said that she does salad specials, sometimes.  They also do breakfast sandwiches and have a bunch of coffee options too--they open at 6:3 More...
