If you want a truly delicious and authentic food experience for your party, then this is the company to hire. Aitor created a truly stunning spread for my 40th birthday party. All the guests were delighted with the food and having lived in Spain, I can vouch for the authenticity. From start to finish, SoCal Paella delivers a beautiful product. Don't hesitate to contact them to cater your next event. You won't be disappointed. More...

We hired SoCal Paella for our New Year's Party last week- they were warm but professional, timely, and best of all, the food was fantastic!  We thought just the adults would eat it but the kids swarmed the food station and I almost had to stop them to make sure the adults got enough to eat!  Salad and bread were included to round out the meal.  Aitor took care of everything, including set-up, cooking and cleaning.  I would recommend this company to anyone looking to provide something different and tasty to their guests. When planning our wedding shower, we knew we wanted paella.  Choosing SoCal Paella was an easy decision.  They were quick to respond to our inquiry, follow-up questions and their pricing was reasonable.  They are honest too - the tax rate decreased from initial contact to the day of the event and Kathy was the first to point out the decrease in price and adjusted our contract.  Now onto the review of the paella.  We ordered the Paella Valenciana and Paella Ranchero.  Both were flavorful and had lots of vegetables and protein.  I absolutely loved the socarrat - the crusty, crispy bottom of the paella.  It came with freshly prepared salad and french bread.  Service by Kathy and Aitor was impeccable and our guests were super happy with the quality and amount of food.  Thank you, SoCal Paella, for making our shower an unforgettable one.  Tip - if you and your guests like eating the shrimp heads and squid tentacles make sure to mention to Aitor and he'll make sure to include the whole seafood as opposed to using only the shrimp body and calamari rings. These guys are amazing! They catered my daughters first communion party and I couldn't be more happy. The food was amazing and the service exceptional. My wife and I ended up inviting them to join us in having lunch. After insisting on it they obliged. Great food, great people. After much discussion I learned that Aitor, the head chef was basically from the same village as my mother was in Spain. I couldn't have asked for a better party. Thank you! More...

Phenomenal!  We catered my mother's Memorial service luncheon last month.   It's hard to know how many guests will attend a memorial, so going with paella ended up being a great solution.  We estimated and ordered for 100 - 75 with traditional paella and 25 in a smaller pan for vegetarian.  Thankfully, we seemed to have just the right amount.  The food is delicious.  The portions are generous. The service was friendly and professional, and the prices were very reasonable for the excellent quality of the food.  We received many compliments on the meal and this was a great solution for Vegetarian and gluten free guests as well.  Will definitely be calling on SoCal Paella again for a happier occasion in the future. So Cal Paella catered an engagement party for my family this weekend. They were great! They arrived on time, ready to go! The paella was so delicious . We had traditional paella with lobster added. Everyone loved it. I would highly recommend So Cal Paella for any party! We had about 50 in attendance. It was fun to watch the progression of the Paella as Itor cooked with Cathy's help. And the salad and bread were great too! Thanks So Cal Paella for your hard work and delicious food! More...

We just had SoCal Paella cater for a birthday party at our home. Not only did our chef arrive early but he was very personable and the food was incredible. Everything down to the calamari - which I tend to stray from considering it's like chewing on a tire if not cooked properly - was perfectly cooked and hot! We got quotes from about 4 other paella caterers and they had the best deal. Hands down we'd hire them again and would recommend them to anyone. More...

I am 9 years old and paella is my favorite food. I have had Aitor's paella twice now. Both times it was amazing. My favorite is the seafood paella. It has shrimp, mussels, clams, and calamari. Aitor adds chicken and sausage and peppers to the paella, which is also delicious. All the ingredients he uses, gives the rice so much flavor.  It's so good.  Aitor is a super nice guy and really funny. I hope I get to have his paella again soon! More...

I've had SoCal Paella on various occasions including a couple different wedding parties, birthdays and holidays. Aitor, the owner and chef, is from Spain and comes from a cooking background.  Needless to say that this paella is as authentic and delicious as any you will find in Spain. All the ingredients are super fresh and perfectly cooked. I promise you and your guests won't be disappointed. More...

I haven't had a chance to hire Socal Paella yet BUT I was at an event they catered and it was wonderful.  The owner/paella extraordinaire was funny and social.  He is part of the entire experience.  He was born and raised in northern Spain and has the charm to prove it.  :)  The paella was delicious too.  And you can customize it to your taste.  He tells you his specialty and if you don't like seafood you can omit it.  Or if you don't like sausage, etc. etc.   You can't go wrong. Yesterday was my Mother's 40 day memorial service (Greek Tradition).  In Greece we traditionally have seafood for funeral services and memorial services.  it was going to be an emotional and busy day for us, so I hired Socal Paella to do our catering. The owners showed up at our home while we were in church.  They setup and got to business.  We showed up and the food was ready for us and our guests.  We had them prepare meals for 60 people, although I knew maybe around 30 would show up.  Why would I order so much?  My husband, he had their paella once before two years ago and he would NOT stop talking about their paella.  So I  promised him  I would over order so he could gorge himself for the next week.  (at the rate the leftovers are being consumed, I don't think they will last a week)Anyways back to the paella.  I am not a rice person, it is not my go to food, and yet I ate an entire portion and then some myself.  The rice is tender and packed with flavor.  The saffron color perfect.  The seafood FRESH FRESH FRESH and delectable.  I have no idea where they get their Spanish Chorizo from but it is delicious.  The chicken was tender and just melt in your mouth.  I had asked for a non seafood paella as well as their special, I had a few guests that are severly allergic to seafood, that dish, if you can believe this was even MORE flavorful.  It had lot's of chicken and chorizo and so many fresh  veggies, seasonal items like squash and asparagus.  Just amazing.I had asked that they add salad to our order and there was too much salad too.  The chef created the dressing for the salad as we watched and dressed the salad.  It was fresh and delicious, a perfect compliment to the paella.  All our guests left full and happy.  Everyone went back for seconds (I saw YOU go back for 3rds!!).  It was a big hit and put a smile on everyone's faces, even though it was a sad and solemn day.Hubby and I are already thinking of excuses for another party, just so we can have Socal Paella cater for us again.  Sorry I didn't think to even take pictures.  I wish you could have seen the non seafood paella, just beautiful.
