The garden at our house in Sunningdale was in much need of attention. We'd heard about Basil from a friend who highly recommended him. And after our experience we most certainly feel that we can do the same. I think it's the first time ever I can recollect that a sub-contractor commenced work before the start date they had promised! Basil's schedule was quite full but he moved things around and squeezed us in. His team is experienced and they work fast and neat. They have all the necessary tools and equipment so there is no time wastage. Basil is mostly on site with them so there is constant supervision. The job required ripping out our entire garden including sum big trees. Besides saving a few trees we decided to start from scratch. Basil offered great advice about what our options were and how we could save money, rather than just thinking about his own pocket. So we decided to re-tile around the pool, then lay artificial grass and create an edging with cobblestones, which were laid in concrete. Then in the area behind the house we laid stones and more tiles as a walk-way. Much more work was done but I won't the reader with all the details. Suffice it to say however that all the jobs were done expertly, and often exceeded expectations, for example cutting and lifting entire roots of big trees rather than just cutting them off at the base and poisoning the roots. Yet in my opinion the most refreshing aspect of dealing with Basil is the manner in which he corresponds and replies to queries and questions. He doesn't leave one hanging, no balony excuses, and he sticks to the price quoted. All in all a 5 star experience without a single doubt. More...
