About two weeks before our wedding day I decided that I needed to have a Day-of Planner to help me feel more relaxed. Robyn and I met in person only once, and I handed over all the details to her. Over those two weeks she asked me very few questions which was ideal! She managed all of our vendors, deliveries, pickups and executed on the day of. Robyn was really exceptional in her job when she organized and managed my wedding last year. We had such a great day on our wedding, no worry about anything because Robyn was really there and took care of every details so we didn't have to. As mother of the bride I wanted a perfect day for my daughter and her soon to be husband. Decided to hire Smitten Events to oversee the festivities, and what a great decision this was. Devon was amazing right from the first meeting, 8 weeks before wedding. She made sure all the little details of the wedding had been thought about, had suggestions for different vendors, and gave us a real sense of reassurance that at least one person had it all under control. The day of the wedding there she was on the steps of church, calm cool and collect and just got us all organized. When we arrived at the venue UBC Boathouse it was perfect, her and her partner had done an amazing job with setup. Devon is not only professional but also incredibly warm and nurturing. We hired Devon at Smitten Events as our day-of coordinator and were extremely happy!! Hiring a day-of coordinator was some of the best money spent for our wedding because it totally took the stress off our family, our wedding party, and ourselves so that we could all just enjoy the day.

Devon was so fantastic throughout the planning process – she was so friendly and calming, she brought up details I hadn’t thought of, she provided suggestions where needed, and she helped make our vision a reality. We also added decor set up service - Devon brought all our decor to the mountain and her team set everything up beautifully for us.

Devon created a super detailed timeline for our wedding day, which she provided to all our vendors and key players. We were so grateful to have Devon take over all the details for our wedding day. The whole day ran so smoothly and we were able to soak in the magic of our wedding!!!

We hired Smitten Events for pre- wedding consultation as well as Day -of coordination and it was the best investment we made for our wedding. I consider myself fairly organized, but I always felt like there were things I was missing. Sitting down with Jordan really put my mind at ease when it came to planning. As another reviewer pointed out, she will help you think of details you never would have on your own that really make a difference. I loved how straightforward she was, she saved me a ton of time by pointing out that certain projects I was thinking of doing would likely not have the impact I was hoping and that our money would best be spent elsewhere. She is full of great suggestions for various vendors and places you can get the best bang for your buck.
Our wedding was on a gulf island, so the logistics of importing equipment, rentals and vendors was a bit of a challenge but Jordan made sure everyone and everything was where they/it needed to be.
The day of, she was enthusiastic yet calm at the same time and it was contagious! My husband and I were really able to relax and enjoy every moment of our day because we knew Jordan and her kickass assistant Robyn were running the show seamlessly behind the scenes. Jordan and Robyn also set up all of our decor and our minds were blown at the magical setting that they created, it really was spectacular to behold.

Having Smitten Events join our team was one of the best decisions me made. We hired Smitten Events for their Day of Management service and never looked back! Being very hands-on individuals, my husband and I weren't sure how relinquishing any sort of control would work for us. Was it really necessary given our personalities? We quickly learned that it was extremely necessary! We were still in control, making all decisions, but Devon with Smitten Events was supporting us right by our side the entire time. There were countless items that had not even crossed our minds. Devon was consistently proactive and was there to ensure we didn't miss a beat. The checklists were a great tool! And the endless suggestions for decorations, vendors, music etc was incredibly helpful. It is clear that the team at Smitten Events always has the individual customer in mind. A week away from the big day, Smitten Events took over communication with all vendors. My oh my was this just the best!! This put us at ease. We were able to relax and take it all in. The timeline that Smitten Events creates for the big day is so clear and easy for everyone involved to follow. Everyone, including vendors, were all on the same page and the day was able to run smoothly. The rehearsal dinner was a breeze and the entire wedding day went off without a hitch, well except for the horses indulging in the wedding cake but that adds to the memories right?!! I worked with Francesca to plan my wedding from a distance (Toronto!)! And she was absolutely fabulous! She was great about helping me prioritize and make decisions with a VERY busy job AND her own new baby! ! She helped connect me with amazing vendors, be it my ultra cool photographers or our sweet flower shop, all of whom came in at reasonable rates. She met up with us whenever we were anxious, had on the spot creative ideas that fit our theme. Robyn is an amazing wedding coordinator. We met with her several times leading up to our wedding. She provided us with information and ideas that made our moment so memorable. On the day of, we had her and her assistant going around town picking things up to get to Grouse Mountain. And all the while, she was contacting me to ensure we didn't need her for anything else! During the wedding, she kept a close eye on the clock. Without her, I am sure we would have had to skip key parts of our wedding. When we got engaged, one of the first things I was basically told (accordingly to my parents for their sanity) was I had to hire a day of planner to help with our wedding. While my (now husband) is happy to have help, I am not the greatest at letting other people do things for me… so this was a tough thing to come to terms with. Well.. was I ever wrong. From the moment we met Jordan, we knew our day was going to be well taken care of. Not only is she great at what she does (and her organization skills are top notch) but she is a really fun person to plan with, I felt like I was going through the process with a great friend. Throughout the year, both Jordan and Devon went above and beyond to answer any questions we had, as well as sort through and really simplify the huge task of planning a wedding. We are so lucky our planning went so smoothly, and we owe a lot of that to the direction and advice we received from Smitten.

Leading up to the day, Jordan took over all communication.. and let me tell you, this is the greatest gift a wedding couple can give themselves. The timeline and little notes they put together for the day were so well thought out and organized, with thought being given to everyone involved. My ideas on allowing people to do things for me have changed drastically.. and only a certain individual could make me feel that calm about relinquishing control of my own wedding.

When it came to our actual day.. I honestly couldn’t have asked for two better people to bring our vision to life. Even in a few feet of snow, they took a soon to be brides sketches and images (a lot within my head and not even on paper) and made the day even better then we could have imagined. In addition to making our day look magical, the attention they gave our guests, other vendors, and bridal party was truly something special. Everyone felt so warm and welcomed, while Devon and Jordan seamlessly ensured everything went as planned from the background.

I would recommend Smitten Events to anyone that asked (and a few have since seeing them in action at our wedding). They are great planners and even greater people, and having them be a part of your special day is a decision you will not regret! More...

Robyn was the planner for our wedding last month, and we honestly can't imagine getting through the process without her by our side. We did the partial planning package, including day-of coordination, and it was by far the best investment we made for the wedding. My husband and I both work full time, so the idea of planning a wedding by ourselves was completely daunting. Even during our first meeting with Robyn, she was genuinely excited to be a part of our day. From then on, she was there to make sure we were on schedule with everything we said we were going to do, eased our worries and anxieties, and got us the best vendor team we could have ever hoped to have! Just having Robyn's guidance and wisdom on catering alone was worth it! We were able to enjoy our wedding day in full, without having to worry about any snags during the day. I cannot recommend Smitten Events highly enough. I had Devon’s help to plan my wedding (partial planning), and Jordan helped out on the day of as well. It was a really tricky wedding, spanning a whole weekend at a children’s summer camp that doesn’t normally do weddings, so we were on our own to do everything – and they helped pull it all off, so much better than I could have ever imagined. I can’t imagine how it would have been without their help! They even stayed overnight and slept in one of the rustic children’s cabins (as it was the only accommodations available) without hesitation! We chose Smitten Events to help plan our June 2017 wedding at UBC Botanical Gardens. My wife and I were so happy to have hired Robyn and it was one of the best decisions of our wedding planning experience. Robyn was patient, helpful, understanding and most of all knowledgable when it came to all the questions that we had. Robyn knew what to remind us of and when, brought up ideas that we had not thought of and she had the best vendor recommendations to fit our budget and our personalities. We had Smitten do full planning and that was the best decision we made! Jordan is an exceptional and highly experienced planner. We felt that the wedding was a breeze because of Jordan. She is a great listener that understood what was important for us. She gave us fantastic vendor recommendations so that we were able to achieve our vision. The coordination of vendors from Jordan was flawless and efficient which saved us tremendous amount of time.What really struck me was the care Jordan took to ensure that we had the best day. At the start of the process, we were concerned about not being able satisfy some of the family wishes. Jordan was always very positive and committed to finding the best solution. She was also very open to unconventional ways of doing things and super supportive of us just being ourselves. We opted for the two month takeover. We had Jordan as our co-ordinator and she exceeded all my expectations. Jordan was organized, professional, and so easy to work with. She did not hesitate to take on anything we asked, whether it was ALL the vendor logistics and communications, seating place cards, and even running a rehearsal ceremony the day before! If you are having a wedding, you should definitely use Smitten Events and if you are having a wedding in "The Pipe Shop" then without a doubt, you need Smitten Events! I had planned for my wedding to happen just after the busiest time in my workplace and as much as I didn't want to admit it, I really needed help. Smitten Events not only provided this support but our wedding planner, Devon Dunn, went absolutely above and beyond. Everything that I didn't think about logistically, Devon noticed it right away and brought it to my attention. She organized everything so fantastically amongst the vendors, timing and event that my guests are still telling me how it was "the best wedding [they'd] ever been to" or how they were in absolute "awe in how perfect everything was." Not only did she do an incredible job planning the wedding, Devon is also one of the most genuine human beings I've ever met. Her kindness and understanding nature made for the perfect person to communicate and work with - vendors included. I literally cried at the end of the night because she helped my husband and I achieve our dream wedding and I honestly am going to miss her because she is an amazing, selfless and thoughtful person. We chose a two month take-over for our May 2018 wedding. Francesca was our coordinator and she was such an approachable, helpful and beautiful lady. Juggling work, school, moving, plus a wedding was impossible and we are so glad we made the decision to have a coordinator. And not just any coordinator, Francesca was amazing! I had an amazing wedding vendor team and I knew I was in good hands with Francesca planning and leading them. I truly had a stress-free wedding. I was busy to the very last few days with other non-wedding related things. I didn’t have to worry about contact any vendors, or do any planning. And on the wedding day, I was told where to go and what to do. We didn’t even have to worry about clean up as it was taken care of by the decorators and Francesca.We had a morning wedding and my make-up/hairstylist arrived at 6am. During the morning get ready, she repeatedly commented on how calm I was and that I was the “chill-est” bride she has met. She said brides are usually still phoning people, sending messages, etc. I responded saying that I had an awesome wedding team and I had nothing to do other than get myself and the girls ready :)Needless to say, I highly recommend getting the two month take-over and also hiring Smitten Events.
