This place has a great ambiance and is perfect for a date. I went alone as I just moved to the city and wanted to check out the neighborhood. The dinner menu appeared lacking but I stayed anyways and ordered the quinoa bowl. It met expectations and had a variety of flavors. It's not super filling but I had a small meal prior to arrival. The service was subpar - waitress was rushed and didn't offer any advice towards the menu.I would actually recommend this restaurant, the ambiance itself is worth a visit. It's one of the gems in NoHo. I will need to return to try the brunch menu as I hear that is where this place truly shines. More...

Such a cute little place! I like that they have a lot of seating (both tables, bar-like, and booths) but are also to-go friendly. The atmosphere is really nice, and the food was delicious (I'm vegan, their options were great)! The worker named Kylie was super sweet as well, just such an amazing experience overall. More...

I tried this place for the first time today through MealPal and I love it! It reminds me of Dig Inn, honestly. My meal was the butternut squash fusilli, kale, and roasted carrots and everything is delicious. The fusilli is lacking a bit of flavor but since the other 2 sides are so flavorful, it works, I wish the kale was chopped more (huge pieces!) but it's not that big a deal. I will definitely be back. I hope they have tofu! More...

I love this gem in the place that I stay. They have friendly staff, and endless supply of oat milk and quirky drinks like turmeric lattes and their food menu is expansive for breakfast and lunch. I love the bagel I got with lox. They have a lot of seating and they're connected to the hotel so you don't have to go outside in the cold if you stay there. More...

GAH THIS IS THE BEST. The ambience is so un-nyc in the sense that it's not stressful. It's also so beautiful, calming, and the decor is pretty without being overly produced looking. There are twal accents and old medium colored wood furnishings. The food is delicious and the staff is knowledgeable and SO KIND. Love this place. More...

If I were having a dinner party at my home, I would want to replicate the food and the ambiance at The Smile. I've only ever come for dinner. The appetizers and some of the entrees change based on season, so occasionally I have to try something new. But if you see the brisket on the menu, do not miss it. The meat is so tender and everything accompanying it blends together beautifully. The fettuccine and lemon cream is also great if you're looking for a light and refreshing entree. My friends and I have been coming here for years because of these particular dishes and the overall vibe of the place. If you're looking for good eats, great cocktails, and a spot where no one cares if you're sort of famous, this is it. More...

Smile to Go is a nice place to grab a relatively quick sit down breakfast. You order at the counter and then someone brings your meal to your table. I got the breakfast sandwich with egg, ham, cheese, and onions on a bagel. The sandwich was very tasty. It was kind of messy so I would not eat it on the go. There was only one menu that was passed around when waiting to order so I would recommend looking up the food options on your phone while on line. More...

Almost all of their offerings are health conscious and relatively low cal. That said, their sweets look yummy. The price is also right.I stop here to bring home a meal for lunch or dinner and am always pleasantly surprised. Had a delicious dinner here on a Friday night! The French 76 cocktail was delicious (and cheaper than a glass of wine!), and we enjoyed starting with the mezze platter (lots of fresh veggies, dips weren't particularly notable). The Moroccan lamb meatballs were incredibly well spiced and flavorful, and the olive oil baked salmon had a delicious crunch from the seeds and black rice that were served with it. The side dish of squash was also excellent. My only criticism is only having one bathroom (which had an eternal line) and the lack of phone service was a bit of a bummer (but the restaurant's subterranean setup made up for it!) More...

We came here for dinner on Friday night with a reservation.  We have been a few times before and the food is good.  We were seated right away.  The restaurant itself is down some stairs and has a rustic vibe.  It is not a very loud place so it is great if you want to be able to hear and speak with your dining partners.  I had the kale and butternut squash salad with salmon and avocado.  I loved this salad it was very tasty and a good size.  We also shared the lamb meatballs as an appetizer.  I did come away with about 8 mosquito bites so I have taken off a star. The Smile offered a simple and pleasant dining experience. Located in the bottom of a beautiful, old building, the restaurant has a rustic and charming vibe. The menu offered sophisticated simplicity which fit perfectly given the rustic nature of the restaurant juxtaposed with the grandeur of the city. This is the type of place you could dine several times a week because the food is fresh and not too heavy. My group started with three mezze plate. Every type of hummus on the plate was outstanding! Then I had the little gem lettuce salad (good, fresh but nothing special) and the balsamic chicken. The chicken was outstanding! I highly recommend that dish. I can't forget the drinks! Several of us opted to try one of the cocktail specials-a spicy watermelon margarita. It was so good we all had (at least) two! I will definitely come back! More...

Went here for a big brunch at around 12:30 on a Saturday and it was exactly what we needed after a night of going out. There was a meal for everyone and great alternative options such as gluten free toast and other sides. I had the granola with Greek yogurt and it was absolutely everything I would want in that meal. The berries were fresh and the yogurt was like a wonderful breakfast treat. I also tried the bowl with zucchini noodles and quinoa and it was so fresh and delicious. The waitress was very sweet and helpful. There was fun music being played. The lighting was set low but it worked well with the cabin interior rustic feel. Definitely recommend for a great brunch for a good price! More...

Love the market plate from Smile to Go - they always have the type of healthy, delicious seasonal veggies and grains that I want to be eating! This location is tiny and can get really packed, but the line moves quickly. If it's nice out, the move is to eat outside on the long stoop a few steps away. If you're craving a sweet treat, the brown butter rice krispie treat is truly incredible. It has ruined me for other rice krispies. I also enjoy the bone broth here and the fig and manouri cheese sandwich, but the prices for both are a bit criminal. More...

We chose The Smile to host our (very small) reception dinner following our wedding. As out of towners, we were not able to taste the food or see the space until our event. The Smile knocked it out of the park. Every guest had so many wonderful things to say about the food (DELICIOUS) and the service (AMAZING) ... our servers especially worked so hard to deliver a seamless, stress free, special event for us and it made for such a memorable night. The space was lovely with romantic candlelight and an intimate setting for our 23 guests. It was absolutely perfect. Thank you for being the spot that will hold so many lovely memories for years to come. Can't wait to come back and visit next time we are in the city. More...

To everyone saying Smile to Go is expensive... where have you been buying your market plates Please tell me, because I always thought 3 big servings of veggie sides was very reasonably priced, but maybe I am living in a luxury vegetable bubble. This location is much bigger than their original outpost on Howard St, but lacks the same charm. That said, the food quality is up to par -- I looove all their market sides, as well as the rice krispie, the bone broth, and the pear/manouri cheese sandwich (the sandwiches, however, I do agree are overpriced). I don't even think it's really fair to compare Smile to Go to Dig Inn -- Smile has more inventive flavors, updates their menu more often, and I feel also gives larger servings of veggies. I've also ordered from them on Seamless, but do find that the serving sizes tend to be a bit bigger if you order in person. More...

Some of the nicest (but not pushy or fake) staff at any coffee-adjacent place in the city. Coffee is above par and the atmosphere is very "I'm on my lunch break from my start-up office in SOHO". Imagine if a really good Panera bread was run by one of the chefs from Munchies on Vice. More...

This is a beautiful and unique place with down to earth professional service. With all the lack of professionalism in NYC, these staff are good role models and leaders in the industry. At a place some might consider ever so slightly upscale, I never got a bad vibe from the staff. They were professional to the books but also could smile, be attentive and take a hint. I expected it to have more of a romantic vibe, but instead found it to have turned into kind of like an after work hangout for middle-aged people who weren't necessarily dressed to be in sync with the ambiance of the place. I need to remember to go to The Smile more often! I had the salmon last night and it was done PERFECTLY! If all salmon was cooked that wonderfully, I would eat it every day! It was flavorful, spice-ful without being spicy and done to a turn - moist, delicious! The bed of English peas are not my favorite but the salmon made up for it and thank goodness the peas were done al dente. The food here is consistently good - I just wish they would turn down the music!! It is SO hard to have to yell at your dinner companion and then everyone else has to yell over the other diners' yelling. This is not unique to The Smile - it's everywhere and I wish they would all stop. More...
