Dr. East creates an immediate feeling of acceptance and warmth from the first point of contact. She offers a personalized plan for you to assist in ways to cope and tools to move forward. I highly recommend Dr. East in all levels of support whether individual, couples, family. She truly made a very big difference for me as I navigated a major life change. More...

I would highly recommend Dr. East to everyone I know. In my previous experience in therapy it felt similar to talking to a wall. After four sessions I wasn't getting anywhere, it felt like a waste of time. With Dr. East she took the time to assess what I came to see her for and what I wanted to get from our sessions. She gives real life advice and "homework" which helps you progress in your sessions. Trust and believe she is someone who will hold you accountable for your own growth. When you finally decide to call Dr. East, and I strongly encourage you do, you will definitely be glad you called. :) More...

Dr East is an amazing mental health professional. She's rare in that she actually l listens and custom tailors her treatment for the individual instead of using a one size fits all approach. It also helps that she's human and real with her clients. I would recommend her to anyone looking for some help but especially black women and people from the LGBT community. More...

I was referred to Dr. East February of 2016, when I was relocating to St. Petersburg and needed an experienced and knowledgeable therapist. This woman is phenomenal. She has the heart and the brain. Dr. East makes me so proud to the point that I have become her walking billboard. I always tell her I will be painting the town with her name. Everyone I have referred thus far have been very pleased and leAves her office every time with great results.I am very experienced with going to therapy, so I was cognizant of the fact that some therapist don't bill insurance so I will have to come out of pocket then send my invoices to my insurance to be reimbursed. Therapy is not a luxury, it's mental health and is just as important as the physical health. I also understand that some doctors don't take all insurances for whatever their reasons, and if that's the case you choose one that takes yours or pay out of pocket for the one you prefer. It's that simple.I chose to continue my healing journey in her care and have had significant progress. Trust, she has uncovered a lot of deeply rooted dysfunction and trauma. I was in a very dark pIace, but I have grown so much since I have been seeing Dr East. For someone with such knowledge, passion, qualification and so downtown earth, her fees are more than reasonable when compared to others with the same or less qualification and experience.I respect her time and business and will continue to highly recommend her to the world. It's a true passion for her. Her heart resides in it.#Therapy in color#RespectHerBusiness More...

Due to word of mouth I was able to get in touch with Dr. East. And I am very much glad I did. I have had a very roller coaster life. Coming from an abusive home, having a gay brother who is a veteran that has severe PTSD, and dealing with a very troubled relationship with the father of my kids...you can say there were many times I fell into deep depression. (And still do) Sad thing is...getting mental help is frowned upon in the Hispanic community. But I knew I had to get some help...especially to vent and get advise on how to deal and cope. When you go into a session with Dr. East, it's not like what you see in the movies. She is very interactive and very much listens intensively. Not only does Dr. East allows me to vent...she also gives me steps on how to get through my every day struggles. Some days are harder than others to get thru, but I know...no matter what...Dr. East's coping methods are slowly getting me thru this beautiful thing called life. I highly recommend her to anyone!!! Especially those finding themselves lost or even in depression like me. She is just a phone call or email away. More...

I highly recommend Dr. East. I knew from our initial phone call I had found a counselor that was caring and honest. She gave me treatment options and explained her fees in a confident professional manner. Within our first few visits I knew I had made the right decision, having tried in the past with no luck. I am able to open up and feel comfortable doing so, while knowing I will get an honest reply from Dr. East. Which I highly respect. She has taught me my mental health is worth more than a dollar sign. I look forward to my visits with her. More...

The fact that I have been chosen to heal minds is an honor that i do not take lightly. I am humbled by the fact that I aid others in becoming their best selves. I inspire people to reclaim their power, embrace their truth and design their destiny! I absolutely love what I do and am very passionate about creating and fostering positive vibes and positive steps.

I no longer wanted others to dictate my fate or keep me in a box. I knew that having my own practice would be a lot of work, but the reward is that its really individualized therapy. No homework sheets, no sitting behind a desk, no judgment...just 2 people talking.

Honestly....I keep it very real. Clients come to me because they don't have all the answers, they come to me for guidance, for solutions and even for starting points...this means we have to talk with each other, laugh with each other and trust each other. Clients appreciate the fact that I am very approachable, compassionate, and understanding, but they also know I will "call out" issues as I see them....with love.

My goal is to always provide support and honest feedback to assist individuals in solving and managing current problems, as well as identifying and challenging long-standing patterns. With sensitivity, love and compassion, I will work to help YOU discover your own inherent strengths and build new ones.

Individual Therapy is an opportunity to meet with a therapist one-on-one within a safe and confidential environment. Individual counseling provides “therapeutic intimacy” to discuss relationship struggles, childhood challenges, or problems surfacing due to employment, career or personal life changes.

Relationship and Couples Counseling is an opportunity to meet with a trained therapist to explore concerns that are part of intimate partnering. Challenges people commonly bring to couple counseling include pre-marital counseling, new relationship struggles, cohabitation challenges, divorce and separation agreements, dealing with mental health and substance abuse issues and healing from emotional betrayals

Family Therapy is an opportunity to meet with a therapist trained in family counseling and other systemic therapies to assist families in moving through challenging lifecycle processes. It is part of the normal lifecycle of family development for there to be tough stages and growth periods for family members. Making a commitment to family counseling can be a first, yet important, step towards a more rewarding and successful family life.

Distant mental health treatment has existed for a very long time. The ever-expanding world of telecommunications has opened many opportunities for providing help to suffering individuals with medical as well as psychological problems. E-therapy is a relatively new method of helping individuals to resolve various concerns like everyday life and relationship issues. Presently, it is being used to provide services successfully to a wide range of people including military personnel and individuals who live in isolated areas where access to live services is extremely difficult.

Although a person’s sexual or romantic orientation or gender identity may not be a source of distress, people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, asexual, or any other orientation or gender identity (known as LGBT, LGBTQ, or LGBTQIA, among others) may find that the social stigma of living as a minority is a source of stress or anxiety. When seeking therapy, whether for one’s sexual, romantic, or gender identity or for concerns related to mental health, finding a qualified mental health professional who has experience and familiarity with the challenges those of the LGBTQIA community often face can be critical to your success in therapy.
