A vet who had been away from the practice for a while helped us with the death of our little China. She was very involved and had a patient and understanding attitude despite, probably, having to deal with this tough role every day.

Like many people we acquired a puppy during lockdown. He was our first dog and after reading some reviews I gave Gordon House Vets a call. From the very start they were helpful. As soon as they knew he was our first dog there was lots of help, advice and support. Our first visit to the vets (even with covid measures in place was very reassuring). Subsequent visits have proved no less positive. Their puppy club is great and makes sure my dog gets all his treatments on time with regular reminders. Also based on hearing from other owners and the vets that they use these guys really seem to care about the pets (and the owners). I have been a couple of times and not even been charged! With others it seems as soon as you walk in the door the meter starts running! When you bring your dog in they of course check the issue, but they also take the time to check the general well-being of your dog, let you know what you are doing well and if there are any areas you might want to do differently. My dog is very happy to go to the vets (the treats help). I just want to say that I really appreciate the support and care we have received this last year and am confident that if you choose Gordon House Vets you will also have a positive experience. Highly recommended! Our little pug has unfortunately need to visit quite a few times over the past few months, however, the staff have been amazing. Always professional, kind and understanding. They all show a clear passion for animals and go into great detail in explaining procedures/conditions/recommendations. The last visit required an unexpected emergency operation which took place immediately. High quality care and amazing follow up care. We would not think of taking Betty anywhere else. More...

Having been raised around dogs and previously owned other very well behaved dogs I really didn’t want to accept that I needed help with my young black lab, Otto, but like children, each dog is different, and I really did need help with Otto - not because he was bad but because he was young, strong and slightly hedonistic in wanting to say hello to other dogs and people on his own terms (immediately) rather than my terms (under control). Added to that, as a big chunky show stock lab he looked older than his months and so I felt people expected better behavior from him.I contacted Luke because I felt I had lost my confidence out walking with Otto. Instead of walks being a pleasure they were starting to fill me with dread, I was constantly worried that the next time he might knock someone over in his enthusiasm to say hello. Luke responded to my initial email very promptly and was very easy to speak to, he was also understanding of my issues. I booked a block of training sessions with Luke and after a couple of ‘back to basics’ sessions in the garden we started meeting on the heath. Luke taught me some great coping strategies for when other dogs were approaching which I felt put me much more in control of those situations and therefore rebuilt my confidence. Beyond that we did a lot of recall work using fun exercises to make it enjoyable for both Otto and myself. As well as the training sessions themselves, Luke regularly forwarded some great video training material, specific to other issues we had discussed about Otto such as counter surfing. Otto is still a work in progress but improving all the time. Our walks are much more satisfying now and I feel better able to control him if we come across other dogs. I am practicing the things that Luke taught me every single day and in the New Year plan to have some more sessions with him to keep me on track and further strengthen the training Otto and I have benefited from to date More...

Cannot praise Luke enough for his assistance in helping to train my large exuberant mega protective dog Jax !! Even after a difficult episode Luke persisted, and his knowledge and advice gave me an understanding of my dogs behaviour and in effect 'training me' ! I learnt so much from our sessions, and although still work in progress I am far more confident whilst walking Jax. Thank you so much Luke for your time ,patience , perseverance and all with a sense of humour.. More...

Teddy came to us from Spain as a rescue dog. He was very defensive and aggressive with other dogs and this was causing huge anxiety for both him and me when we were out. I asked Luke to help me and after just three one to one sessions and lots of work in between Teddy is a completely different dog. Luke gave both of us the tools and confidence we needed. Teddy now walks off the lead (off road) and enjoys interacting with other dogs. His recall is spot on and he is focussed on me all the time. He is a joy to have around and absolutely loves life now. I would recommend Luke without hesitation. Without his help I doubt that Teddy would be with us today. Thank you Luke. More...
